Fun fact: If you beat Gabby and Ty 255 times in Emerald, their cycle will stop and they’ll just keep showing up on Route 111, so you can just leave the route and come back and rebattle them there! I legit just found this out from Johnstone’s Emerald natdex vid lol

I did this by accident as a kid and thought it was intentional. Didn't know it was a byte overflow. Lil kid me had infinite patience and played way too much. Like... i got pokerus naturally. That's how much.

My favorite Gabby and Ty would be the Adventures Manga. They follow Ruby and (to a lesser extent) Sapphire as they even help with the Aqua and Magma Crisis. It's really great and they make great additions to the cast of supporting characters

I only wish we could’ve seen them using their Pokémon in the Manga. There was a brief shot of Ty sending out a Magnemite in a battle against Team Magma in Rusturf Tunnel, but that was it.

Gabby & Ty are also prominent supporting characters in the Ruby/Sapphire arc of the Adventures Manga, trying to solve the conspiracy behind Team Magma & Team Aqua. They even tag along with Ruby for a bit, hoping to get some info out of him after he got tangled up with Team Magma in Slateport.

I liked that their Magneton evolved into Magnezone in the remakes. Gabby and Ty are also the reason why I had an Exploud and Magnezone on my Palatium team. Thier names were Witwe and Shofy.

When I first saw Gabby's over-world sprite, I thought that she was a toddler with a lollypop: her hair was short, the microphone was right up against her mouth, and the white pants kinda looked like a diaper. Whenever I see that sprite to this day, I fondly remember playing Ruby version for the first time and having funny little experiences like that.

In RBY, I thought the guard at Cerulean Cave was wearing a tall black fur hat like a British royal guard 😂 the sprite head blended into the cave entrance, so my small child mind made up its own logic.

The episode of Generations starring these two was by far my favorite. I didn't care much for Generations as a whole, but this was the one episode that genuinely left me wanting more. Sadly, with it being nearly eight years since it came out, I doubt that cliffhanger will ever be resolved.

One other thing with their interviews, if you trade with another player the last of your interviews is shared and can pop up on TVs of other players and you can get theirs.

One thing that wasn't mentioned was that after Team Magma/Aqua steals one of the colored orbs from Mt. Pyre and announces Slateport City as their next target, heading over there will lead to you coming across Captain Stern being interviewed by Gabby and Ty outside Slateport Harbor. In Pokémon Emerald, the Magma Hideout must be cleared as well in order for this interview to occur.

What I really liked about them is that since it's a double battle it was really easy to teach moves to a Smeargle by using Sketch on your own moves.

Back when I was younger I didn't like reading text, the only reason I knew the npc were interviewing me was because they were obviously reporters, I just wanted to get back to playing so I asked my cousin to pick random answers. These Hoenn videos make me regret not appreciating these little details when I still had my old cartridge especially now that the switch games are sub-standard.

Gabby & Ty must be the trainers I fought the most often across the whole franchise due to Gen 3 grinding. I always felt bad at how disappointed Gabby seems when you decline the interview as she's so so excited for me to say something like "Suction-cups", but I decline and she's like "...Oh...". I'm sorry Gabby I just needed your exp for my Beldum to level up, please forgive me!
