Yes. Lisa Loring was the perfect Wednesday. But Christina Ricci from both "The Addams Family" (1991) and "Addams Family Values" (1993) was a fantastic Wednesday and Jenna Ortega from Netflix's "Wednesday" is a perfect reimagining of a TV classic.

@@bobstuckrath1805 Bob, that's understandable. Though both Ricci and Ortega have their own interpretations of Wednesday Addams, Lisa Loring was the one that set the standard. Lisa was my First (She gave me a kiss on my cheek because I gave her a cookie from my lunch) Girlfriend at 7 years old. Her Name then was Lisa DeCinces. We both went to Dixie Canyon Elementary School. She would miss school sometimes, Because she would be schooled on the movie set. I went to her house a few times for birthday party’s and such. She lived on sunnyslope ave Sherman Oaks in the San Fernando and if I recall at the time her guardian was her Grandmother. Many years later I was working in a Nightclub called Sasch in Studio City when in walks this lady. She walked up to my section on the bar. Paused and said do I know you. She told me her name was Lisa loring. After short conversation she said oh my god did you go to Dixie Elementary school. We talked in between me serving people for about 30 minutes, she said She had a Crush on me in elementary school, then she left and I never saw her again. Last, what’s funny was I was just telling someone this same story a week ago.

Door knobs in the center of the front door were very stylish and somewhat popular in the 50’s - 70’s. They were even more a wow factor on large double front doors and often had decorative surrounds (like star or abstract shapes).
@GoodJuju.8D2 жыл бұрын
Family Affair. Watch an episode of Family Affair and you will see the same type of doorknob. It could've even been the same set they used for filming for all we know. If you watch an episode of I Dream of Jeannie, where she's riding in a car through the neighborhood, you'll see Samantha and Darren's house from Bewitched. Back then there was a studio "neighborhood" street to film on. I believe the Munsters house was there, as well, just farther out so as not to be seen unless it was actually needed.

I live in an old building...built in the 50s. My front door still has a patch over from where the door knob was moved and recently some of the doors still had the door knob in the center. My building only changed out the fuses from the old glass fuses like a little over a year ago! O.o

Jackie Coogan was an army drinking buddy of one of my uncles . I heard that he got swindled out of his money working in the motion picture business by his parents. Fantastic job with this minibio! Kudos! I met Lisa when I was an editor for an entertainment magazine in So. Cal., 1986-87, and attended the VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association) convention in Las Vegas. As I was strolling through the booths on the "adult" side of the convention floor, I was magnetically drawn to a booth occupied by a stunning brunette. We started chatting, and I asked her if she was in the (adult) business. She said, "No, but my husband is." Her husband, at that time, was the famous Jerry Butler. That was surprise Numero Uno. Then I asked if she had done any acting. Rather coyly, Lisa said, "I was a child actor on TV. Do you remember The Addams Family?" I stared ... then blurted: "Little Wednesday?" Lisa returned a bright smile, and I knew I'd nailed it. Now, this wasn't any kind of news I could work into our magazine; however, over the years, it's made for what I think is a pretty good story -- one which I tell on a fairly regular basis.

"theatre movie"??? Dude it was a tv show in the 60s. There was no cable tv yet so people would gather around the ole' tube tv and watch funny shows. You had to be there when they came on or you were out of luck-no recording stuff for watching later. I grew up in the 70s so it was on tv all the time in reruns. It was a great show, they had a pet under the stairs that scared me every time the stairs lifted up-fog and growling etc. Uncle Fester was also always concocting stuff in his lab that would fail hysterically. Yeah they made a movie out of this tv show as well like everything else copied from my youth.

@@MrMackmonster Some do think the show's corny. Others do not. But considering the recent crop of mediocrity that Netflix has these days, "Wednesday" is considered an improvement.

So glad to hear she’s doing well. She was a cute kid and a beautiful woman. Lots of these kids didn’t make it.

I loved her. She was on my mom’s soap opera when I was a kid too.

Wednesday and Lurch dancing to Molchat Doma has brought back memories for a couple of years I've been thinking of dressing like her for our Halloween party I'm glad she's doing good 🙏🏽

This show is getting better every time I watch it ! I’m so glad she didn’t end up like Dana Plato from facts of life or that cute little girl from Family Affair and survived lots of high drama and still alive and living life. Actresses have hard lives !

She's an amazing woman, and Mom. I'm blown away she has 49(?) & 41 y/o daughters, at 65. I hope she is well, happy, lives long, and prospers. Oh, she's on Twitter, and very sweet!

Who knows, Jackie Coogan might have been a better dancer.:. I like the part when Wednesday was going to catch Lurch while dancing, but her mom and dad stopped them… Great show

Thanks for the details of Lisa Loring’s life. I’m glad she’s a survivor I always wondered what it happened to her. She was so cute as Wednesday in the Addams Family. I like the Munsters better but every now and then would watch the Addams family. Glad to hear that Jackie Coogan made sure that the children in the show would not get exploited like he did. Great job 👍

November 13, 2022 - I think this is an excellent video biography of an actress that reminded me of my daughter when Ms. Loring was playing the part of Wednesday. Her expression in the opening sequence of the episodes, was exactly that of my daughter who was slightly younger in age. Congratulations to the Cool Classics host on his research, video clips, and narration. To the video host, thank you for a job well done. Wishing you every possible success now and in the future. Stay well.

Thanks for updating. You know you mentioned that centered doorknob in that clip. I remembered seeing that type of doorknob all time of the house of the TV series Family affair.

What a wild ride of a life! Up and down and all the way back around a couple of times. The stories she could tell.
