Another great video, Cool Dude. Decades ago I stayed in Seaview for the regatta at the invitation of friends. They sail a 'one design' dinghy, probably in that race you showed. I met an actress there who I instantly recognised as having been in The Young Ones, albeit briefly. Amazingly ('cos I'm a tightwad) I have also stayed at The Priory Bay Hotel for some friends' combined 40th birthday do slightly fewer decades ago. We saw a red squirrel dash across the lawn and helicopters landing because it was British Grand Prix weekend and bigwigs were staying there and being ferried to the race; odd I know. Carry on.

Nice looking walk cool dude! I must rid myself of the IoW curse and return. First time we went there, I had a bottle dropped on my head on the ferry over and had to go to Ryde Hospital for stitches. Second time, we had the worst holiday weather ever and we were burgled. Ah the Brading Waxworks! How this was suitable for an eight yr old in the early 80s only my parents can say. I think I avoided the chamber of horrors so I was only mildly scarred for life but the skeleton organist memory still scares me still today. A few months ago I found my Waxworks guidebook and put the pages on Pinterest. Must try those prawn cocktail Discos as well.

Hello again 😁👋 Catching up on this one as I missed it somehow. Paused at 14:17 You asked if the plant was Snap Dragons?? I'm fairly sure its called Himalayan Balsam. An invasive species which can take over like wild fire. We have a lot of it here along the banks of River Loddon, Woodley. Teams of conservation volunteers regularly uprooting it to destroy it or mitigate its dominance, without success. It can grow so fast and so high. The only upside of it is Bees love the nectar. 😁😎👍

The best selfie will find pride of place in the local newspaper under the headline 'These prices are a bloody disgrace'.

There was a regatta in Burton near where I live where a field with a cow was gridded out with squares and you had to guess which square the cow would do a pat in. So yeah, I'd probably have that. @cdwc3 жыл бұрын
I am also a fan of pistachio. Lavender can be amazing, I had some in a restaurant once and it was the best ice cream I ever tasted. Then again I've had some truly awful lavender ice creams, so it is a risky choice.

@cdwc3 жыл бұрын
Yes that whistle is cool. I really like Osprey bags, the stretchy pocket on the front adds loads of capacity (although their waterproof covers are a rip off). PS. Wishes are secret everyone knows that cool dude.

Has anyone done it? and would this still be your ultimate IoW walk for visitors?
@cdwc2 жыл бұрын
No-one has told me if they have done it yet, and the treasure buried at one point in the walk only has the same names on the log paper that were there last year. As for your question - I think there is no continuous route that combines the best bits of the Island but I would say 75% is excellent. I am currently doing the Vectis Trail which has a lower hit rate. I think at the end of that one I might mark off where I think the best walks are on the Island, or maybe do a separate video.

For Marek's Regatta I would have 'The Greasy Hole' - Throw Seaview millionaire's into a deep greasy hole and watch them tread on each other on their way up (much like they already have in real life...)
