The Coolermaster 212 EVO was and still is one of the best CPU coolers of all time, it started a trend due to its popularity and almost universal availability to be the go to Processor cooler for PC builders for then last TWO DECADES!
There have been "improvements" and upgrades to the 212 over the years such as newer CPU mounting options and blacked out fins and the addition of RGB and addressable RGB.
But what a lot of people wanted was a newer better mounting system, a quieter more powerful fan and for the heatsink to be offset to avoid issues with modern RGB RAM.
That is where the the NEW Coolermaster 212 EVO V2 comes in, and it goes about solving those issues in one fell swoop and does it all at the same price or less than the original or some of the other competitors on the market.
The OG go to cooler has grown up and is better than ever, oh and did i mention it now comes awfully close to coolers way way out of its league like the Noctua D15.
Not bad Coolermaster, not bad at all.

Interesting video Mike. I bought a 212evo after upgrading to FX8350 which had bsod a few times. 3 years on and switching to Ryzen found on the box that i had bought the version which suited both cpus! I bought a new coolermaster rgb fan purely for shiw and swapped mounts over. Old fan was in good order though. Honestly i feel the new mounts you shown look more complicated and cheaper! Like the idea of pipes being offset! For me works a treat albeit Rysen runs hotter than FX ever did! Thanks again for comparisons Mike👍

I remember when I asked to you about the main difference between the CM Hyper 212 and the DeepCool Gammaxx 400: only 2 or 3 (Gammaxx won and there it is). That's why I bought it. Still, I'll tell a friend of mine to buy this one to cool down his Ryzen CPU and change his stock fan. Thank you very much, Mike & Kath!

@@mikesunboxing Thanks for the info. I've checked it and there are some "downgrades": from 6 to 4 heat pipes, PWM fan (64.5 CFM).... I'd rather stay with V1 (6 heat pipes and 74.3 CFM in fan). Maybe V2 is "scientifically" made and esaiser to install, however, I have no complains about V1 (yet).

Nice one Mike. When you see how this cools a 3900x you know air cooling is very much alive. I use the arctic freezer 34CO with two cpu fans on my 3900x. Keeps my gaming cool. When messing about with blender I don’t go over 74c.

i have the hyper212 evo black but i replaced the fan with 2 cougar rgb fans to go with the ones i had with my cougar panzer evo rgb case. so far it keeps it cool and quiet . i like that they decided on a bit of inclination on the heatpipes to help clear the ram with 4 sticks and still install 2 fans because the v1 dos not .

I've not looked at one of these before seems like a reasonably priced cooler. Does it stack up well against the article freezer 34 that's what I've got in both PC's and they seem to work very well. The fans seem to mount a lot easier than artics fiddly clips lol.

almost all the 120mm tower style coolers perform within a few degrees of each other so i would go on the ease of installation price and looks. i have the freezer 34 in kaths pc and swapped them over and the difference was within margin of error although the freezer is a bit noisy at the top end and sort of whistles sometimes

I've had a Freezer 34 Duo in my pc for a year and my 5600X hasn't gone above 80C while overcloked to 4.85Ghz PBO2. Don't think you can get much better than that on air. Most air coolers are within 10C difference. Any big improvement would be water.

"there are a metric ton of installation parts of this, they updated the installation method but the fact that it needs this much of a guide to install it... etc" I think you're looking at this the wrong way ofcourse there's gonna be a metric ton, it has support for over 12 different sockets, that's not an easy feat to do with only a few parts, every socket mount has different variables to keep in mind. but the fact is, it has clear instructions to which parts you need on which socket which in and of itself is pretty easy and is absolutely ludicrously easy to understand and install using the guide.
