Thus auditor is good. It really comes down to verbal ability, maintaining an even voice, catching incorrect things/nuances that officer say, and being able to reply to them immediately and calmly. Like the way he used a metaphor about having to follow an order/request just because an officer gives it. Only thing I'd add, is trying to make a citizen's arrest if allowed in your state. Doesn't mean you have to go hands on with the officer yourself, but verbally doing it (or whatever criteria the state requires)

The reason cameras aren't allowed in a lot of court rooms is to protect witnesses who may be testifying. If a judge violates the peoples' rights defense counsel a) can bring it up to the judicial review board b) ask for the judge to recuse him or herself, c) bring it up on appeal. That is why people have counsel. State courts generally allow cameras in the court room, but may ask that witnesses not be identified. Federal courts almost always prevent cameras in the courtroom. But again, that's what defense counsel is there for.

It’s because so many people don’t know their rights or the law and just listen to cops because that’s what they have been told to do. How many people do you think ever argues when these cops tell them no or to leave an area? Probably very few. And that’s why they get the idea that they are the law and make the rules. If everyone behaved like this auditor then police would quickly learn that they don’t have the authority to tell anyone what to do.

The auditing community has gotten huge and it’s wild to me that there are still police out there who haven’t gotten the memo. Idk if it’s their egos that get in the way or their training that keeps steering them wrong. But that really shows to me how much police don’t care about the law. There’s a huge community dedicated explicitly to making police respect the first amendment and police across the country don’t even care and still violate the constitution. Thanks to qualified immunity and zero accountability these guys have no fear for breaking the law.

Here's something. I went to court and had to be sworn in but the cop did not. I asked why and was told that she was sworn in when she became a cop. As I told the judge I was sworn in when I joined the military (which I feel is higher than a cop!) and she was not. The judge told me she was to up hold the duty.
