My son had an '85 5.0 Mustang. He had an under hood fire and everything from the firewall forward was burnt. Insurance totaled it and I bought it back. My son and I built a wiring harness from scratch using connectors from a " rear ended 83 Mustang 5.0. Took it back to the insurance company for their inspection and got it back on the street. That was quite an experience but was challenging and fun. We both learned a lot.

Thank god the interior in that mustang didnt even get singed man amazing, doesnt even look like the fire got that hot just burned up the wires and took the paint off the passenger fender. Totally salvageable, just drop a new motor in it completely forget that motor it's definitely toast

Motor is not done its not aluminum pretty sure that was still a cast iron block didn't even get hot enough to burn up the bumper

@@upnorthrebuilds2124 yeah it's probably doesnt have any mechanical issues to the internals of the engine, but to go through that wiring see what is there and what needs replaced will probably take as much time as a drop and replace so by done I mean rebuild it another time or sell it off as a bare engine

The video didn't have all the transitions like your expensive camera has but it really isn't that big of a deal, as long as we get to see YOUR walk around that's all that matters to me.

I have an 88 Mustang GT with 113k and my interior is in similar condition, so I think 103k is realistic. It would be a great project for the channel. They are going up in value every year too!

Uh randy, you remind me of my wife. She likes those quirky cars like the pacer, the gremlin, maverick. Personally, I'd rather the fire burnt that Stang to the ground, but, to each his own. I like your videos Randy. You're doing a great job. I would love to your the oklahoma city copart yard sometime, because I'm definitely with you on hail damaged cars. It's a cheap way to get a newer vehicle. Especially if it's a work truck, who gives a crap about dents and dings? Keep up the good work man!

Bid on that 1990-1993 Mustang GT. You can either source the parts used & new from LMR.com or similar. Fox bodies are in high demand right now. Hopefully the engine is not damaged from water or chemical contamination. I bet it is 103k & not 3k based upon lf seat wear.

I tell ya Randy that dart was terrible. I've always taken great care of all the cars I've owned. They looked brand new and ran like new. Had an oldsmobile cutlass ciera that looked brand new, had working AC and kept running perfectly. My coworkers offered to buy it because they knew it was like new. Had 245000 miles. I'm a huge car guy. Love cars. If was living in the USA still, I'd have bought your fury. God bless Randy

Randy!!! You didn't zoom in on the cylinder heads on that 92 Mustang GT! Maybe they are Trick Flow too. I also saw an underdrive pulley on the crank. It looks like the fire was concentrated in the front of the engine bay, and the worst outside paint damage is on the passenger side. Only thing at that corner is the fuel lines, and you can see where they had a fuel pressure gauge on the Schrader valve thing there under the alternator. It was a stock 2G alternator, so the fire wasn't from a 3G conversion.

I like that Mustang. That could really make for a nice long term project car for the channel. Lots of content there, and when you get it running you know it would be fun to drive. You could probably even do that one as a personal car and keep it for a bit, after all you did sell the hellkitty and the SS, so you need a new muscle car.

Hey Randy I don't understand why most of you American folks have a downer on British cars. Yes some are/were down right crap, However the Jags / Bentleys since 2000/2004 have been, from my experience and friends' experience virtually faultless, as well as being superb to drive. I know Bentley is owned by VAG but it is British built. I have owned 2004 XJR (from 2012 to 2016) all it ever needed apart from tyres, batteries, etc... was a themostat IN 4 years. Same for a 2007 XKR 3 years owned NO issues. I have a 2013 XKR for the last 18 months and needed an air con pipe due to corrosion (£600), that's it, so far. The other British car that I own is my 2006 Bentley GT owned for 4 years and have needed 2 x front suspension struts and 1 x upper control arm, otherwise faultless. These repairs weren't cheap but that is no surprise. Cost me about £2800 in repairs for these 3 items in 4 years. Come on Randy give us a break and BUY ONE rto make up your own mind raher than listen to folks who probably have never even driven a Jaguar or Bentley let alone owned one. YES, Land Rover and Range Rover brands are crap, Jaguar being the parent company bear some repsonsiblilty but it is unfair to right off Jaguar and Bentley as unreliable, as from my experience at least it is the farthest from reality. The diamond stitching on the GT in your video is from the Mulliner Spec from 2006 onwards, the upgrade cost around £4500 back in 2006. If you buy a Jag from a scrap yard or Copart, it is probably as safe bet it is knackered, but is that the car's fault?

94 and 95 had the 5.0, the 4.6 started in 96. This would be good content, I know i would look forward to seeing you fix it. If you found a harness from a wrecked GT it would be pretty easy to rewire it.

That Bentley is actually pretty good. The battery light is on because they used the wrong batteries for the car. Those things need an AGM battery at least on the left side. If I had the money I would actually buy the Bentley. I have a W12 Phaeton and I enjoy it too.

You can pull the motor out of that mustang redo the wire harness clean up the engine bay afterwards drop the motor back in after you clean it all up and get everything fixed on it and that car will run right down the road again that's a very clean mustang

As someone with a 2004 Pacifica, a father who has a 2008, and has done a ton of work on both of them, I can't seem to figure out why that one's there either. Expect the motor mounts to be shot and it'll probably need a few suspension parts. Rear shocks for these cost a small fortune - try and use OEM Sachs parts only (the rest are junk - ask me how I know). If it's riding low in back I'd honestly walk away.
