TastyPCTV I watched Part 1. I enjoyed getting to look at the work it takes to produce the show given your limitations and getting to hear about your non-pc related interests. If there's anything there that would turn off viewers, I didn't notice it. Also, I'm surprised you don't like the patterned red curtains. I associate them strongly with your reviews and since they've been there for so long I thought they were a personal choice.

All the other reviews I have seen about this keyboard were from people who were very hesitant to show how it works. They felt it was too complicated to show and not worth the time. But you miss shown it splendidly. I honestly learned quite a bit just from looking at you changing various lighting effects, so when I get the keyboard I should be able to dive straight in. Again, good job!

Very good review! I bought the K65 RGB keyboard more then a month ago and have been loving it! I have over 30+ profiles on mine and change them every other day or so depending on my mood. Love the customization. It is also my first mechanical keyboard and I have to say it has been a very different feel to get use to, but have definitely been enjoying it. With only cherry red switches available, I was skeptic that the clicking sound would be a bother, but I have really fallen in love with it. I actually really enjoy the clicking sound. Best keyboard ever!

This is the best review I've seen of this keyboard yet; many have described the software as "daunting" or "intimidating," but your quick run through of it shows that the only reason it may seem intimidating is that it's SO customizable, which is what we want, right? As for the colors (or "colours" as you like to spell across the pond) not displaying accurately, that's currently a shortcoming of the software/firmware. From what I understand, as of now, the software is capable, but the firmware hasn't been released yet as it is still unstable. The keyboard hardware is capable of the full 16.8 million colors (so *technically* the keyboard is "as advertised"... if you can write your own firmware/have your own controllers), but between the firmware and the software, the general population of standard users isn't able to unlock it yet. I would analogize this to selling a Ferrari advertised to be capable of 200 mph, but the model is released with a governor at 130 mph. The hardware is capable of much more, but the governor needs to be removed first. In the case of the keyboard, the "governor" will be removed once the software + firmware is stable enough to handle it. All that aside, great review, please keep it up!

You've reviewed several MX red and MX brown keyboards before--have you considered trying a Topre keyboard? I think the switches would really suit you based on the MX switches you like. I didn't know about the issue. Although in the video I did point out that it doesn't transition from red to white very smoothly and also that it can't display some shades correctly. So I guess that's why.

It appears they haven't yet, here's the thread on Corsair Forums forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133172
@cakeisamadeupdrug613410 жыл бұрын
That's an issue with USB 2 as an interface, not with the keyboard. The keyboard is perfectly capable, as a piece of hardware, of the colours they advertise, but they'd need it to be USB 3 to actually do it. And that would come with an arse-tonne of compatibility issues. As it happens. *every* RGB LED keyboard and mouse only has 512 colours available, not just Corsair's.
@YourNightmar310 жыл бұрын
No they haven't fixed it. And i don't 100% get what you're saying, but im using it with usb 3.0 and it doesn't make any difference if that's what you're saying there.

YourNightmar3 Plugging it into a USB 3.0 port doesn't magically turn the USB on the keyboard into anything but USB 2.

***** They are easy to press down and I've found when you are not being too precise just putting pressure at the edge of a key would be enough to press down. But again, like I said, that's the case for me personally. If I had the money, I would have a keyboard for FPS games, another for mmos/ mobas and another for work.
@TastyPC10 жыл бұрын
***** error2k12 While I do know some people who love typing on Reds and can type faster using them than they can with the other colours, it is a case of personal preference, as for example I don't like typing on reds. :)

If you make things easy to press, you develop a lighter more accurate touch :P TBH, I bought the K70 to get a mechanical keyboard and heard red was good for gaming, and it worked well for me, so I haven't thought about other kinds than the red ones.

BlueFinian Fraps? Why do people still use this program? It's ultra limited and just not up-to-date. Seriously, forget this program. It was one of the first, but today other programs are simply much better and much more versatile. Rather use Bandicam for example (imo better than DXTory). If you want to record losslessly, it might make sense to get multiple HDDs to use them in Raid0. By using a CPU-friendly encoder like the FFDShow-integrated HuffYUV, one might be enough, but if you want to go uncompressed YV12, then you definetly need Raid0 (at least for 60fps @1080p). (Recording uncompressed has minimum CPU-drain.) If you want to record lossy, use Shadowplay or Nvidia NVENC in Bandicam. It has a very small impact on the CPU.
