Man, this game brings back memories. I played this so much when I was young. Heck, I'd get up super early before school to play a map or two. There was a map called Miami that I mostly played. Me and my friends figured out how to glitch out of the map by stacking on each other on a desk in one of the rooms. As well, throwing a flash bang in a certain spot in CT spawn that would flash everyone on the map. Good times.

I used to play "clan" matches and the biggest glitch was silent planting the bomb. You could literally plant the bomb so it makes no beeping noise.

I played hundreds of hours of this back when it released. I don't actually remember the game having any matchmaking. It was all server browser based. My dad and I made a ton of friends online playing it and they would host public 10 players every Friday.

small correction to the development of CZ/Xbox CS, from the start the plan for CZ's single player content was not a scripted campaign, the idea for the game was to have a series of 16 missions that would play out like a regular CS match, but the new feature would be that every map would have an unique objective instead of just being hostage or defuse, both Rogue Entertainment and Gearbox's versions were like this. The single player campaign idea that resulted in CZ Deleted Scenes came entirely from Ritual entertainment at the very end of their development because they had no idea how to make Condition Zero work, and that's why the campaign is called deleted scenes, because its not the original idea for Condition Zero that actually shipped as just Condition Zero. So the Xbox port and Condition Zero are the original vision while the singleplayer campaign in deleted scenes is just a desperate experiment.

I used to play CS condition zero in PC and found out that this Xbox CS was also the exact version in PC... same maps but the skin models are more in xbox....

6:05 definitely the monitor . I have the game, and played it on a 32 lcd tv via component cable to get the 720x480 and the game is actually vibrant in color . Same visually as the pc version but lower res . I also highly suspect the game is still played with xlink kai or the revival of the original xbox live. Yeah, somehow the community managed to rebuild the original xbox live last year (that microsoft shut down long time ago) and are still tuning it, but operational .

For sure, I was playing on a newer IPS panel through HDMI, which has an HDR function built in, even tweaking the colours I couldn’t get it right lol. A CRT would’ve definitely showed it better, I’m trying to get my hands on one but they are a bit expensive nowadays lol

The whole predetermined recoil patern mechanic that CS is known for just doesn't lend itself well to thumbstick controls. I can also imagine the built in acceleration of thumbsticks makes movement really awkward feeling. I'm saying all of this from a PC standpoint. If this is the only context of CS you played it might just have felt natural.

That’s a good point, come to think of it, yes the acceleration did feel a little strange, especially for crosshair placement.

With Valorant now on Xbox, it's weird that CS:2 doesn't plan to come out on console. I know CSGO didn't perform extremely well on console but I feel like the console audience has now grown more towards these type of games.

Yep, an odd addition brought over from Half-Life. It seems they changed the brightness for the PC versions of CS in the later Beta versions, but not for the Xbox lol

you can actually play online through insignia. it does require a modded xbox though (but it's a much easier task now than it was when i did it)

this port is how i first experienced counter-strike. before then i watched counter-strike gameplay on this gaming channel only available in hd from dish. gearbox was kind of decent at ports.

Gearbox was quite good, they did well with the Half-Life Expansions and Ports as well as their bit of work that went into Condition Zero / Deleted Scenes.

loved this game back in the day and was way better and played and felt nicer than the csgo port to console which was a terrible idea and played bad was hard to control and aim never got to play online on this one though never had xbox live for the original xbox was super fun with bots though and always loved half life and cs games!

I never played Xbox CS before co i dont have an xbox...until last year i bought a very cheap one and tried to play CS on it... at 1st its really hard to control specially the aim and shot... coz its really much easier and better to play CS in a PC and keyboard.... but still i think its a good port... now i use to get on it with more practice and play u will get this....

I actually have CSGO on Xbox SX. People still play online, and play so hard you'd think they're in a tournament. Playing Counter Strike GO on Xbox competitively is lame as fuck since it's free on PC and it's actually supported. Unless you owned the game on 360 or have a disc, you have to go out of your way to get it.
