Hi Kim, Madeira was never a colony of Portugal, as before Portuguese arrival there was no human activity there. Same with the Azores. After the 1974 revolution it gained some regional autonomy. In Portuguese, people from Madeira are Madeirenses. All the best!

Je kan ook zeggen dat de inwoners van de VS spreken Spaans en Engels, de VS heeft de tweede grootste hoeveelheid van Spaanse sprekers ter wereld! Hebben we eigenlijk geen officiële taal, maar Engels is natuurlijk de hoofdtaal.

@@learndutchwithkim In Spanish-speaking countries we learn that the American continent is divided in 3 parts. North America, Central America and South America. This is the way latin people divide the continent. English-speaking countries devide it in 2 🤷‍♂
