To have that mindset of not getting upset over what you can’t control on the day is the best way to go. If I ever God willing get married that’s how I want to handle things. Getting pissed off at the little things spoils the day and is just pointless. As you said easier said, but 100% how I would want to do things.

Super overwhelmed 2024 bride here and I have tears in my eyes listening to your last point. I'm so overwhelmed with making decisions, feeling expectations and that many of the options given to me are crazy overpriced. I just want to marry my Fiancee and have a beautiful day with him and our families. I'm finding the process a lot at times. I have been married forever and people today still say that they had the best time at my wedding…. And I know how that happened… It was the DJ! He didn’t just stay behind his table and play music… He had a cordless mic and was working the dance floor and the room…. He was dancing and he got people up there… he incorporated these fun little nerdy things that got everybody involved who normally don’t dance. I feel bad for people at a wedding who are not comfortable dancing so they sit at a table for hours. It has got to be so boring. We all know it’s sometimes it’s hard to talk because the music is so loud …… Me and my family are dancers, at weddings we always say the dinner is too long… We finish our dinner within a half hour yet we’re all still sitting at the tables…. What I didn’t know in advance was that the DJ also has a dinner break when we are having dinner. What annoyed me was the DJ spends an hour setting up… then he works the four hour reception, not the cocktail hour just the reception….That is a 5 hour workday. Do you need a dinner hour for a five hour shift? No you don’t…. We had to wait for the DJ to come back to get the dancing started again…. Anyway hiring a DJ that will MC your reception really makes the party… that’s what made it so much fun. And those people who were not dancing were entertained by all of the shenanigans on the dance floor…. You want a good wedding… It’s the food and the music… if one of those are bad it will ruin your wedding… Tell your DJ before your wedding… If the dance floor is empty change the genre of music… these things need to be discussed before hiring your DJ… because they could make or break your party…

Absolutely!! I’ll eventual be posting our full wedding video and you can see the dance floor wasn’t clear at any point in the night, our DJ was awesome! It absolutely can make or break the event 💃🏻
