Being alone isn't the whole answer. I've learned a lot as an American woman living in Italy about safety. Ladies, put bars on your windows & doors & roll down locking steel shutters. Have real time surveillance connected to a reliable security service. If you can't live in a gated community with full time security use high walls or steel gates around your property. Also it never hurts to get a well trained guard dog and a firearm. Italians take every precaution and that's why these types of crimes are extremely rare. I know it sounds crazy to most Americans but it's been the Italian way for thousands of years.

From the FBI (on serial killers): "The interpersonal traits [of serial killers] include glibness, superficial charm, a grandiose sense of self-worth, pathological lying, and the manipulation of others. The affective traits include a lack of remorse and/or guilt, shallow affect, a lack of empathy, and failure to accept responsibility." Brian Steven Smith showed every single one of these traits in this interview and imo is a psychopathic serial killer. Firmly believe there are more victims in Alaska and more victims in South Africa.
@sophon23826 күн бұрын
There are so many people like him. You see them practically everywhere tbh, there's always some guy or woman that thinks they're so charismatic that they can manipulate everyone into getting favors and whatever they want. And if people don't check them they become an obsessive manipulator, it becomes the default setting.
@ismayonnaiseaninstrumentt26 күн бұрын
@@sophon238 yes, anyone can manipulate! But not every manipulator kills. That's what I find so interesting. I believe there are more victims (specifically, women of color) in both Alaska and South Africa. The way he described indigenous Alaskans was weird to me. It wasn't admiration... it was a serial killer's fetishization.
