i agree, they don't seem to be focusing so much as to the trama they are putting the child through, or the dangers/risks they let him at. they seem to be more focused on what the child did wrong.. personally, he did some stupid kid things. he seems very smart and should be in a higher education than they have him in. it don't matter what this child did, no excuse to lock a child in a room without access to lights, air conditioning, food, water, and a bathroom. i can see if the child sleepwalked, to lock his door while he's sleeping but make sure he is fed, and bathroom first, then there would be an alarm installed for fire, and an escape. this set up was nothing but a jail cell and i'm sure jail cells have emergency procedures to unlock the cell in the event of a fire. ..and if he's afraid of the dark to let a night light on.. how could they even emotionally listen to his crys every time they shut that door and shut out the lights?

@@Altered4n892t your point?
@Lisa-hc3uq Жыл бұрын
@happycamper1372 There's definitely something else going on besides a father's abuse of a child. The whole control and abuse thing is very troublesome. The defendant reminds me of my ex who's a covert narcissist..His appearance, his lack of emotion, the cold, dark intimidating stares. Covert narcissists have an insacious need to control, over the top control, mostly in hurtful, cruel ways. They prey on the most vunerable. In relationships, or in families, covert narcs seek out those they see as weak, so they'll be easier to verbally abuse. It's not being strict, or having a bad day here and there, it's constant, sustained verbal abuse. This is how they operate. They don't physically abuse because they'll be evidence of their physical, destructive behavior. It's verbal and over a period of time, it can cause psychological damage to their targets. Adopting a baby or a child would be a perfect choice of a covert narcissist because they see those as underprivileged, vunerable, etc, hence they are easy to manipulate and abuse. They hide their inner feelings, but underneath their perfect image, is a heartless monster. My opinion, but from what I have heard this far about this story, there are similarities of the defendants behavior and covert narcissist behavior. Without knowing the family dynamics, if this is true, the spouse is sometimes oblivious to covert narcissists, what their intentions are and what they're actually capable of doing and why.

It’s a good thing he wasn’t claustrophobic. I am and I would have freaked out because of that alone. This child was subjected to a form of psychological torture. Being isolated and locked up in a pitch black room for hours on end, with no stimulus is a form of sensory deprivation. This child was stripped of rights as a human being, right down to the most basic thing, such as water if he's thirsty. If he had not been rescued eventually that treatment would have led to irreversible damage. Now, with the right therapist and a good family behind him, he'll make a full recovery. Also, a big "thank you" to the contractor that alerted the police. As for Timothy Ferriter, he's a dumb ass. He rejected a plea deal of 2 years in prison and now faces 40 years and possibly more. He's not the brightest cookie in the crayon box, which is probably why he thought it was a good idea to build a box to imprison this poor child in. I can't wait to hear how the defense is going to explain this one.

Vulnerable children attracts predators. "orphans" from poor countries are seen as very vulnerable and many ppl who are attracted by international adoption have alternate agendas for the child, more than just having a child. Many international adoptees are not really orphans, even from very poor countries. Real orphans are to sick or handicaped for the western world to want them, so these children are snatched and kidnapped from the real parents. When children have behavioral problems it is usually due to not getting enough attention, love and affection. They should have put him into activities, spent one on one time with him, as well as family time together. It seems to me that they just didn’t like him. Everything he did and said annoyed them so they decided to treat him as a prisoner. Hearing the sister testify, she said he seemed to get into trouble for nothing all the time. It’s so very sad.

Sounded like they just wanted a house keeper and a personal punching bag to make them feel superior. Sick people.

@@skiarytn6744 I agree. I grew up in very similar circumstances. But my mother rotated who her target was. It was like she couldn’t love all of her kids at the same time. We were also constantly told we were to be seen and not heard. We did chores from morning til night. We didn’t get to do the fun or normal things other kids did. We had to earn watching tv, but it’s funny because we could never do quite enough chores to ever earn it. My heart goes out to this boy.

We see it to often. This young man is intelligent and probably rebelled against Tim’s bs. I was raised in a fanatical religious situation. Parents run with the spare the rod spoil the child scripture which is a total mis construed snd mis translated idea.

When he was asked “was it hard for you to see other kids have snack and you don’t” that broke my heart and made me cry. What a horrible these people are for treating kid like this. 😢
@joanbaczek2575 Жыл бұрын
My mom did the same in kindergarten no snack had to sit there and watch everyone eat their snack , the teacher would make me sit at the table like a dud. My moms excuse was snack not necessary .

@@joanbaczek2575We never had money growing up for extras, and schools back then never had food or drinks in the classrooms. My father was an invalid with MS in a wheelchair, mom was his caretaker. I survived and am stronger for having lived through hard times. Mom grew up w a single mom, abandoned by an alcoholic father. There are much more worse things than missing snacktime

He was treated like a second class prisoner. Even prisoners get access to a toilet. These people would have never treated their children like this. How could you sleep in a nice place while you're guest or your child is treated like a animal. 😢 This is a smart intelligent young man & i hope he goes far 🙏🏻 ✝️❤️

I wouldn’t say people don’t treat their biological children in the same manner. Ruby Frank, for example.

I can never understand the comparison " treated like a dog/animal". Anyone who would treat an animal like that, also, deserves a life sentence. You are not an entitled species.

I am sickened to hear what his “parents” did to him. His living conditions, the difference in treatment between him and his siblings really makes me angry. I’m glad the court gave him the opportunity to talk about this in front of Tim. I hope Tim is ashamed of himself and has to recall this interview while locked up in an 8 x 8 cell for the rest of his life. His so called “mother” should rot in a cell as well. Simply despicable, breaks my heart. Oh and btw, I couldn’t fathom of doing ANY of these things to my adoptive son who also had issues growing up. I would love to have 20 minutes in a room with this “mom”! Where was her protection? Where were her motherly instincts? Why didn’t she give him the love that he needed? These two make me sick 😡
