Getting an employee to quit is much better than firing her for everyone. Keeps her from suing, cuts down on drama and less paperwork. Firing someone in unions too can have lots of hurdles. Her leaving voluntarily is the best option for everyone. Not as satisfying, but better in the long run. For the guy on the roof, I'd bet money they either thought he was trying to kill himself or wanted to embarass him a bit. Give them a chance for a funny story.

Some unions suck and don’t protect their employees, my brother worked for a certain package delivery company that treated the workers badly and the union didn’t back him or his coworkers when they were unjustly fired, though this was in California. I had a showbiz Union in NYC and our rep sold us out.

It's really a lose-lose situation. Since they didn't fire her, the OP could sue for negligent intention.

They let her quit because that disqualifies her for unemployment lol. 👀🤣💀

With the second story, the reason they didn't just agree to take your keys and come in through your apartment is because there's a very strict protocol when dealing with jumpers. You're not allowed to enter the residence of a jumper unless the door is unlocked (because any attempt at forced entry may scare the jumper). Obviously, OP wasn't a jumper, but to the men on the ground i'm sure that's what it looked like, or that OP was just crazy. That's why they put up the tape and made a whole scene out of it. Just following protocol.

Story 1: They probably let her quit, so then they wouldn't have to pay her unemployment. Assuming this story is from the US.

This first story, I can very much relate to. From the beginning of 2020 to mid-22, I was working in a retail store chain in CA (Central Arkansas). There was one person who at first, I never had a problem with. I hardly ever interacted with her, but somehow, decided that every time she worked with me, she had some form of a problem. So a bit of context: I can be a bit of a flirtatious jokester. I don’t mean anything by what I say at all, I just like making jokes and hope that people get a laugh and smile from it. Anyways, one person I’m checking out (working as a cashier), and I have what we call a courtesy clerk, which is another name for a bagger. Well, I make a subtle jab at one of our lady courtesy clerks, and this lady (the coworker) tries to accuse me of harassment, and goes to the immediate supervisors. Well, jokes on her: the supervisors know how I interact with people, and they’re aware that I have no ill intentions towards anyone. And from that day forward, I dubbed her “The She-Demon who will never be named in my presence.” Now I know what you’re thinking, “doesn’t that sound a bit harsh?” Well no considering two things: One, she put her nose in someone else’s business; and two, she apparently had a problem with EVERYBODY on the front end of the store. Fast forward to a few months, and while I admit I wasn’t around to witness this, but she got fired for trying to steal some masks. Keep in mind: Covid was still all over at this moment in time. She stole some masks that were worth about… maybe $20 total? The only thing I was upset about: I didn’t get to tell her “Bye bye, She-Demon.” Moral of the story: If you try and start something in one department, the entire department will be on your case faster than flies to a cow patty.

The last story my dad did to me. It's hypocritical to eat all of something then say oh, all of the good things are gone. My mom and dad where going away from the house for a week, and my mom took me to get groceries for my meals, I got two tubs of ice cream mint chocolate chip (that my dad doesn't like and doesn't touch) and a mudslide one that's all chocolate. I work nights, and one small tub of ice cream lasts me a week and a half. The chocolate one was gone the next day and I didn't know about it until I got home and was taking care of the dog (mind you I don't have a car or license to just go and pick some up again) I had it for a day and I was pissed off! He replaced it only because I "made a huge stink about it" by asking him if he'd replace the one he ate in one night.

I have a family member who's just the same. If it's 'left' then they claim it even if they a) didn't buy it, b) have already eaten more than their fair share. Chief complaint from them? We hide things from them....

To be honest, so-called Family Size bags of chips these days have decreased in size. They have enough for maybe for servings of a decent amount. But yes, BF should have replaced them.

So ik where i live this is y the hospital let karen quit after 2 weeks instead or being fired, if she had been fired she couldve gotten unemployment benefits so pretty much the hospital didnt want to pay her to sit on her butt longer so she could procrastinate in finding a new job

The last story about the boyfriend eating all the snacks, omg, I feel that! I have food allergies and very few things I buy just for me. I had weight loss surgery almost 6 years ago, so I eat very little. Bacon, ice cream (and cones), popcorn, and salt and vinegar chips are my go-to snacks. I like to have an ice cream cone or some chips or snack sized bag of popcorn for a snack and I cannot keep anything in the house. If I don't eat it that day or hide it, it's gone when I go to eat it. If my husband finds my stash, he'll yell at me for not keeping the food downstairs. He's blamed me for years for his weight gain over the years, and while, yes, I do make too much food (when only cooking for 2 or 3 of us, I make double that and I got that from my mother), he'll eat 2 or 3 helpings on his own. I tell him that I don't shove the food down his throat and his excuse is he doesn't want it to go to waste. When he complains about his weight, I tell him about his snacking habits and he says "well, you keep it in the house and if I don't eat it, it will go bad". But, how do you know it'll go bad? It doesn't last long enough to find out if it'll go back. And he doesn't even like sweets (or so he says), yet he'll eat a full chocolate bar I bought for myself or a small bag of chocolate truffles I bought for myself, etc.

Story #4, my husband does this too!😂 We will buy 2 boxes of cheese crackers, one for me and one for him, easy right? No, he will eat his box in two days and then grab mine. A box of crackers will last me a week or more if I hide them. 🤣😂

Story 5. That’s why they had me as customer service manager. Once I knew primarily all the products in front store, cashiers call “”is this on sale?” No. “Sorry ma’am that’s not on sale”. But I saw it was. CSM: wrong UPC # Karen try again. Stop switching labels!

Last story Sounds like she needs to sit down with her partner and have a proper conversation on the issue because is sounds like the op never made the issue clear beyond just asking what happened to stuff so maybe just talk it out and he will probably start buying his own snacks or some such. I feel most forget that men need to be told shit straight to them not this passive aggressive commentary that most women communicate in.
