The only method for good edging of grass is with a blade. Not only does it cut the grass nicer vs. rip it those style edgers do not throw the grass and debris into your windows and onto the side of the house ! Looked to me like that installation was sloppy as heck. Too soon for leaks if it were done correctly. Yep, put in some dampers, manual ones is likely all he needs to control the supply to other parts of the home. He says the master bedroom was getting most of the air flow. Might only need one damper, won't know until its installed. I don't get the insulation used in those Houston homes...its all blown in vs. the batts to keep all in place and neat.
