I love watching how actual artists paint figures vs figure painters who paint a figure artistically. There's a foundational difference between the two. This was very refreshing to watch. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you very much. We are both glad hearing it and it is our pleasure. Sharing something like this could be helpful and fun , as well give different perspective, so we decided filming it. :)

I guess I need to do more colour theory. Nice work, and thanks for showing me a new way of doing things.

Color theory is always helpful, as color use practices we teach on classes. Thank you, it is our pleasure and we hope to see works inspired by this tutorial. :)

It's refreshing to see an approach less rigid than it can be seen anywhere else (not that other approaches are bad :) )! It shows that painting can be more a pleasure than just a technical gesture which had to be repeated again and again!! Nice video, I like a lot your content!!

You guys are really inspiring me. I really want to paint more but have had a hard time feeling like I’m missing steps or just not doing it right. Your approach is so freeing and refreshing! I am excited to just try new things and explore this more. I will be looking for more and more for you two! Be well!

started the video , saw pink space marine, thought pffff no way that'll turn out well.... finished video ... wow, what an amazing space marine. Like how did you even think to use those colors as shadows? I need to take a color theory class or something, absolutely stunning work.

This was a great tutorial. I learned alot about underpainting and colour theory. I've applied this to some of my own models and it came out great 👍

Your brush control on the imperial fist logo is very impressive. I'm too shaky for fine detail like that.

Hehe, thank you. There are day's when I have concentration for details like that, sometimes my hand get shaky as well, but it is all practice. I believe because of painting everyday it become natural. So if I don't paint for some time, I need to get back in painting routine to have my brush control back. :)

Hello! Thank you for the guide, though I do have a quick question. What would be the citadel and Army Painter paints for these colors?

Ilke the paintjob it’s Sick :) but I Don t like the lack of blending between true nails and fake nails :D
@CraftworldStudio4 жыл бұрын
Hehe, well to be honest me neither as it was pandemic closure I had to chose if I am to make a video with nails as they are or don't film at all. Luckily, I chose filming - as my nails are not really important on Miniature painting related video. :D Ps. Those are real nails, just the polish is gel so it is thicker than lacquer polish .

Just cannot describe your guys style. Somehow it avoid classification and regulating. Can you describe your painting philosophy in short words please?
@CraftworldStudio3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. In shortest possible sentence, I would say that we both enjoy the values that colours brings to painting. This is why we try to bring our color understanding, experiment's and color use closer to our students and public ☺️
