Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
After seven days
He was quite tired so God said:
"Let there be a day
Just for picnics, with wine and bread"
He gathered up some people he had made
Created blankets and laid back in the shade
The people sipped their wine
And what with God there, they asked him questions
Like: "do you have to eat
Or get your hair cut in heaven?
And if your eye got poked out in this life
Would it be waiting up in heaven with your wife?"
[Chorus]
God shuffled his feet and glanced around at them;
The people cleared their throats and stared right back at him
[Verse 2]
So he said: "Once there was a boy
Who woke up with blue hair
To him it was a joy
Until he ran out into the warm air
He thought of how his friends would come to see
And would they laugh, or had he got some strange disease?
[Chorus]
God shuffled his feet and glanced around at them;
The people cleared their throats and stared right back at him
[Verse 3]
The people sat waiting
Out on their blankets in the garden
But God said nothing
So someone asked him: "I beg your pardon:
I'm not quite clear about what you just spoke
Was that a parable, or a very subtle joke?"
[Chorus]
God shuffled his feet and glanced around at them;
The people cleared their throats and stared right back at him

This is a very very deep song with real deep transcendental sendings. These guys were big without being understood, definitely not a commercial band. The Canadians give the world again a big talent that we discover late. Deep respect to the band and as well to the poet. The whole album is a masterpiece.

It's hard to say that they were the most underrated, because the 90s had tons of bands that were just as good and even more obscure. At least these guys had billboard number one single back the decade when that mattered.

Here, this was a few years later but completely unknown. I found them because I would run across them with my band back during those days. The thing was, for as good as these bands are, they aren't unique in the quality of the music they were producing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJ6vdpx_pKmNn9k Or is this song from them might be more to your liking: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZOpioyFhLx9bqs

@leonvisa3282

The meaning of life you can find in God. The meaning of life is love and that is the power of God. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps not record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." it is written in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. That's why people seek God, because they want to see his face, Jesus's face. Faith is the most important aspect in a person's life. You can't take your material belongings with you, but whom you trusted and to whom you gave your life to will be with you for eternity.

Latzilla_nz I agree cause now they use different instruments that sounds more like other genres mixed in with some of the good genres which ruins that genre (example country mixed with pop music *terrible*)

I'll never forget when I first got this C.D. On Christmas morning amongst all the wrapped presents was an unwrapped, purple, crash-test dummy doll with this C.D. tied between it's hands. It was the first gift of mine that I saw. I was thrilled to death. Oh, the 90's....what a time to be a teenager. Lol.

This song helped me see the church for what it has become. Even if you don't believe in the judeo-christian belief of God the point is: quit wasting time on stupid questions and live your life now as a good person!

I could up vote this comment all damn day! I play this song for everyone and I haven't seen anyone "get it" YET! I always sing the part of 'there's one or two things I'd like to ask' and change it to tell Him...cuz I just want to thank Him for everything and everyone experience (especially the bad) cuz it's all been so fucking beautiful, I wish everyone could see things the way I do! Peace and Love brother!

After seven days He was quite tired so God said: "Let there be a day Just for picnics, with wine and bread" He gathered up some people he had made Created blankets and laid back in the shade The people sipped their wine And what with God there, they asked him questions Like: do you have to eat Or get your hair cut in heaven? And if your eye got poked out in this life Would it be waiting up in heaven with your wife? God shuffled his feet and glanced around at them; The people cleared their throats and stared right back at him So he said:"Once there was a boy Who woke up with blue hair To him it was a joy Until he ran out into the warm air He thought of how his friends would come to see; And would they laugh, or had he got some strange disease? God shuffled his feet and glanced around at them; The people cleared their throats and stared right back at him The people sat waiting Out on their blankets in the garden But God said nothing So someone asked him: "I beg your pardon: I'm not quite clear about what you just spoke Was that a parable, or a very subtle joke?" God shuffled his feet and glanced around at them; The people cleared their throats and stared right back at him
