I have a neighbor that got divorced. He is moving on with his life (they had no children together). According to her, he has not contacted her since the divorce, but every time she has a problem with her home (that she demanded in the divorce (and still has not finished paying for his share, as stipulated in the divorce) she burns his phone up asking him to come over and fix, or maintain it. It has been over a year, and he will still come over and change the filters in the HVAC, he winterized the plants that needed it, flushed the tankless water heater (twice), and replaced a toilet. (And paid for all the parts). To me, it looks like she needed him a heck of a sight more than he needed her.

I'm male, and just came here to say Teal is 100% spot on here. I've been that guy she talks about. I also think it's worth remembering that the void in men that creates this behaviour is the exact same void that leads women to fall for it. In both cases, the answer is the same - to realise that nobody external will ever fulfil you, and you need to fulfil yourself first.

@richardgreaney Жыл бұрын
@@travelchannel304 What Teal is really describing here is the desire to 'get what you want, no matter the cost'. This is what the men that she is describing do (they want to get their woman to fall for them so they get the 'keep' her). But the issue at the heart of this behaviour is a lack of true and unconditional love, which can only ever be met by us ourselves. The men Teal describes will do what it takes to woo a woman, because they believe that's the only way they can experience true love. And this can only be fulfilled by fully loving the self. So it's essentially the same shadow (lack of self love/thinking love from someone else will fill the void) for both women and men.
@meghasanyal4861
@meghasanyal4861 Жыл бұрын
Makes sense getting what you want no matter the cost. Both are paying extreme costs to het what they want but no one is going the direction of self love. Can it be also the naivety of a person that they do it because the want is to share the love they have instead of a void? They just don't know the big bad scary world out there and trying to give at all costs? Or probably that giving at all costs is codependency. Not sure just thinking out loud.

I would argue that the current situation in Europe and in the west around many topics proves that the current system doesn't work. Islam is the fastest growing religion and by 2050, will be the top religion and will clash with atheism on the number of followers. Religion does make sense, it gives people purpose, the thing is people don't get a chance to even learn about it today. No attention span, no curiosity, no knowledge, only kreten like behaviour. More important to watch Logan Paul's humiliation ritual than to learn something and be better. Well said. Men and women have thier owm tactics and ways of power over etc, but we generally do it differently (in saying that, there are outliers on both sides). So pointing at 1 while being silent on the other merely creates disunity and frustration ( true femanism is the prime example I'm how it became such a movement because women were finally sick of being told what they are and how rhey should be). So it seems to me nobody has or wants to learn both sides and as such history is merely repeating but in a different way with a different gender being the target

this is very simple. I told my girlfriend's daughter that most men are relational chameleons. When you run across a guy you really like, never tell him the things you like. Ask him what HE likes first. Ask him what the most exciting thing he did... (any time frame before you). Pay attention how he speaks of his parents, siblings, ex-girlfriends, but do not talk about what you like until he has spilled his guts. That way you keep him from pretending to like what you do and you getting hurt.

Facts! I tell my sisters the same thing. I think a lot of it will manifest itself into guilt. All those lies and deception ruins them from within. At least with women, we process our feelings. Men don’t. Which I understand is because they’re built different. However, it doesn’t help them mentally. Then add the fact that they’re an imposter and lying to themselves. Its a perfect recipe for an early pre-mid life crisis. I’ve had men truly open up to me over the years and I’ve seen what it does to them. That’s why I exercise caution. Sometimes you gotta protect others from yourself, but also protect them from themself by staying away. The sad thing about this is they can take what could’ve been a great relationship and ruin it with self-sabotaging behaviors. It’s unfortunate that they tell women that we don’t know what we want in an attempt to conceal their own ignorance of what they want. I do believe you will get what you put out in the world.

@@anomalousoddity So you’re halfway there, which is not that common for a feminist, but why do you still believe in this concept of “patriarchy?” I just don’t get it. This seemingly magical force has no real world backing in academia, it is not something measurable or ever really concretely defined/studied; it’s mostly used as an easy cop-out explanation for certain social issues in certain social media circles and ideologies. It’s lazy and easy to blame but does little examination. How is there not a matriarchy by the same logic? It’d just be some other form of power that women instead hold. Saying there’s a patriarchy seems to imply men have power and women don’t, which is just not true and I think silly to believe. Women really underestimate how much they drive male actions (and I suppose sometimes vice versa). In fact the whole feminist movement seems to greatly underestimate and still does not understand how much power women have, especially socially, and in different facets of society like motherhood/raising the next generations of children and how powerful that is. Forget even how much they influence men. This “myth of male power” I will call it (which is a great book) seems so pervasive in my opinion probably because men operate much more in the physical, which is more obvious, compared to women. Also the way the sexes operate, on average, I think has something to do with our perception of this. I mean if you can sit here and tell us that men contribute to a system of oppression called the patriarchy, how can you not also believe that women also help uphold and contribute to it, or something, that affects both women and men? I mean it’s gotta be the case and I know it is.

He's just selling her a fantasy to get what he wants. This is probably 99% of male interactions with women. It's because man have two types of attraction. A purely physical attraction that's triggered when women portray themselves as purely physically attractive. And a purer attraction that causes us to view a girl as a potential mother of our children (which is very rarely triggered)...and most men, especially younger men or men who prefer to play the game run when they encounter this type of attraction.

This is statement will not work for those of us, whose fathers were the ones that we had to protect ourselves from.

She is 100% spot on. I spent my entire 20s and early thirties living that way, and when I finally decided I would be alone, no matter how miserable I was, until I was happy being alone... something absolutely magical happened and I have never been afraid to be alone since.

Regardless whether she’s right or not, she’s always stating opinions and beliefs as facts. She should preface with “I believe it to be…”. It comes across as very arrogant Also, men aren’t a “race”. We are human.

It’s true, I had a turbulent childhood, abandonment issues form my mum leaving me and huge deficit of love. When any boy/man appeared I would consider them as I had this huge deficit that didn’t allow me to see red flags or that the person simply not right for me, doesn’t take me serious. This would leave me more broken with more deficit. After advanced psychoanalysis and reprogramming myself over the years I know to take things slow and allow actions to speak louder than words for both sides.

Do you mind sharing the actual steps you took? I'm currently struggling. I can identify the red flags but tend to gaslight myself into thinking I'm being hyper critical. I come across a lot of this ladies videos but I've never seen one which shows exactly how to work on stuff like this

@@mumbaevelynchola7645 it’s already a big step that you’re aware of your own thinking pattern. The process and steps have been long, is there a specific area that you would like to learn the steps for?

I would like to comment, but I'm a lot allowed, because my thoughts will probably upset the infantiles, and they will cry and then I will be banned for 'hate speech'

Women portray themselves as something they are not in an attempt to draw the attention of men they like too.
@millanferende6723

Yeah or pretend to be "drawn to a guy", just to keep him in the loop for a bit and see if they like him well enough / if he satisfies their innermost needs and desires. I understand, but it is the same concept of "they will pretend to be a certain way at first" and I find it annoying and inconvenient when it happens. (Has caused me not to approach another woman who could potentially be my partner.)

But it’s mostly guys, since guys are usually more desperate for a partner than women are.

Detachment is the key!!! Starved for closeness or anything.....detach yourself and stay on your moral or ethics ground.....its always worth it!!!!

Detachment, though hard to do, eventually sets you free from toxic connections from others not worth your energy or time. There is freedom in not needing toxic people or worrying about them. Carefree vibe. Relax. Self-Improvement. Income generation.

She means well, but she's often off the target with what men are. She would be a better servant if she talked to women regarding how to behave like women than trying to teach men to be men. 🤔
