27:36 On January 11th. An ex soldier, Tony WIttman, 45, storms the shelter for his cat, former Australian soldier, holding the employee at gunpoint with a fake assault rifle and combat clothing making the employee, Sydney Morning Herald count to 100 before leaving, and was arrested the following day. The Ex soldier, blames his PTSD and claims he needs his cat to cope with his trauma from the military. The guy who showed a sextape of his wife during his wedding probably had already paid for a lot of the expenses, sent out invitations etc before he found out about it. I've heard that story before, where they figure they can at least have everybody come over, have people enjoy all the things that were prepared and paid for, have them eat the food that was paid for, and then make abundantly clear the reason why they're immediately having an annulment (generally it's just the cheated-on party going "I caught him/her/them cheating on me" instead of showing the guests though).

Unfortunately no, he did not get his cat back. He was an Australian ex soldier suffering from ptsd and used the cat for therapy, when the shelter mistook it for a stray they kept it and when contacted said they couldn't return the cat until the next morning. The soldier then launched a raid with a replica rifle and forced a worker to tell him where his cat was. He didn't find it before he had to run from the police and was later arrested and sent to prison

Fun fact: contrary to common media portrayal, if you want to hit someone with a frying pan, hit them with the thinner side instead of the large, flat, circular side as is usually portrayed. This is not only more aerodynamic, but it will do more damage because Pressure=Force÷Area. Less area, more pressure, more damage caused.
@wisteria3032

what about the increased difficulty in both grip and aim?
@KingNedya
@KingNedya 2 жыл бұрын
@@wisteria3032 After grabbing a pan and doing some test swings, I have come to the conclusion that it's actually even easier to grip and swing and aim in the way I described, not harder, due to the shape of the handle allowing for better edge alignment. This is also the reason why swords have oblong handles and not cylindrical ones, because everything I described in both of these comments also applies to swords. Hitting someone with the flat side of a pan would be like hitting someone with the flat of a sword blade.
@wisteria3032
@wisteria3032 2 жыл бұрын
@@KingNedya yeah but pans do have oblong handles and sword surely don't have round handles I find it more difficult to grip the pan the other way around. Unless you do it with both hands which would also increase the strengths. (I also find aiming more difficult but that's probably me - I could kill someone behind me by aiming at the ground). and this is why you should use a rolling pin and not a pan (also more easily burnable in case you need to destroy evidence).
@KingNedya
@KingNedya 2 жыл бұрын
@@wisteria3032 I tested it with both one hand and two hands. One-handed was a lot more awkward, but that's to be expected, since pans have a center of mass very high up from the handle and aren't designed to be weapons. So using two hands naturally makes it much easier.

Regarding the snake thing: I was trimming my grass edges once with one of those spinning nylon string trimmers. I must have uncovered a garden snake's hidey hole because it came out at me. It surprised me so I hopped back a little (with string trimmer still running). I had never seen a snake get decapitated before, and was not emotionally ready for the slaughter I had just accidentally committed. My partner and I held a little funeral for it and it's buried underneath our flower garden now.

It's unfortunately common for them to get injured while humans are tending to their gardens, it's so sad, and I'm so sorry you went through that bc that's straight up traumatizing. One of my favorite reptile KZbin channels, (Snake Discovery,) took in a snake who lost part of his head to a lawnmower presumably. They were just trying to make him comfy until he passed, but then he just didn't. He had to have a couple of surgeries, and live alone in a specially designed habitat bc he ended up with no eyes, but he was a beloved and famous animal on the channel for like a year or something. 30:49 Everyone going on and on about the "5 older brothers" is missing some other glaring details: The daughter is 18. The mother is stated in the article as being 35. 35-18==17. So the "virgin birth" girl's mother was 17 when she had her. And already had _5 other kids._ 5×9 months == 45 months == 3 years, 9 months. So this girl's mother had her first son *_no later_*_ than age 13_ … and that's only if she had them one right after the other. So yeah, the whole story is rather messed up. And the extras details indicate that it is almost certainly fake.

My first line of thought was that if the mother genuinely believed the daughter didn't have a boyfriend, etc, and was only ever with family or out with a chaperone, then she was most likely assulted by a family member or chaperone, which is very messed up. But your facts puts an even worse twist on it.

Regarding the "adult spouse" part of the sign, most US states underage marriage is legal given the parents'/guardian's consent. The underage person has no say because they are under 18 therefore can't sign any legally binding contract including filing for divorce. Underage marriage circumvents certain laws like the age of consent and I assume from the sign, being allowed in certain places like bars or casinos with your spouse.

On a "some cases aren't as shady" note, I had a classmate in high school (16 or 17, I can't remember which) who married her adult boyfriend who was a few years older so he would be considered her legal guardian and the school would stop making a big deal about her living with him instead of her parents. Minors getting married without their consent is definitely a bigger problem than it should be, but there are a few cases that fit the actual intent of the laws existing. The shady stuff is those who take advantage of those laws for ill intent. Side note, my sister (legal adult but under 21 when married) used the law being circumvented in certain circumstances when married to legally have alcohol for the first few years of marriage. Where she is, it's legal if one's "legal guardian" over 21 provides it to them. So not at a bar or restaurant, as those cases the staff it technically providing it even if the over 21 is paying, but fine in privacy of own home and such.

There's no such thing as a mini-pig. There are breeds that are smaller than farm pigs, but when someone tries to sell you a mini or teacup pig, it's a scam that'll likely still grow to 100 kgs. But pigs are cute, and piglets even cuter. As a child in a small village we helped a farmer vaccinate them. A big box of tiny piglets, and after they got the shot we were allowed to snuggle them and then bring them back to their mother one by one.

An ex-soldier of the Australian military was told they would have to wait a day before they could pick up the cat they believed was being held at what was called the "Lost Dogs' Home." Outraged, they stormed into the shelter with an assault rifle and threatened to shoot an employee, forcing them to lead him to the cat section, before tying them with zip-ties. He left empty-handed, and has been charged with kidnapping, assault, and false imprisonment.

I am from Poland, hence massive confusion between us Poles and Americans in perception of Christianity. We are nowhere as radical as a lot of "Christians" in the USA... Politicians? Damn, that's a wholly different story since we either choose far-right capitalists faking being liberals (the opposition) or "right-wing" that actually helps the poor and stays vigilant on guard of employee rights (correct government).
@milkhoney45
@milkhoney45 Жыл бұрын
@@mugthemagpie3001 the reason Christians are so disliked in America is because they're known to have a history of being oppressive. I am African American and once read a book detailing the history of slavery. One chapter of the book went over the massive array of excuses Christian slave owners would hide behind. They believed they were saving Africans imported from Africa by giving them a chance to learn the Christian religion. They believed Africans were the result of sinful sex between one of Noah's sons and his wife on the ark (the baby came out black because of sinful circumstances of the pregnancy). They claimed Africans we're black because they we're godless, and the godless deserved proper punishment. They came up with excuse after excuse to do terrible things to innocent people- looking back on all that reallyyy doesn't make Christianity look good. Another thing that bothers people is the vast amount of power that elderly, traditional white Christians have within America. Many of our current leaders base their moral structure on Christianity, and apply only their beliefs when making decisions as opposed to considering the well being of the country as a whole. Their depictions of Christianity are often restrictive, outdated, and rampantly supported by the endless slew of American Christian elitists. And of course today, American Christians are still using their viewpoints to mock, oppress, discrimination, and excuse. I'm not sure how Christianity works in Poland, but it has always been a mess in America (as most things have been). Now that American Gen Zers are growing up in a world filled with technology, in a country more open-minded and equal than it has ever been, they're starting to really frown on American Christianity and it's god awful history. Sorry about how long this is, but I think American Christianity is really interesting and I love seeing it from an outside perspective!

Not sure if the mouse thing would work well though. Because either you make the mouse the owner of the ring and have to deal with unparalelled rodent supremacy on your way to morder, or the ring does not accept the mouse in which case it might not work at all. The rings weight affected Frodo even as he only had it dangling on a necklace, so there's also a chance you would just be carrying a really freaking heavy mouse around.

Also do we really think Boromir would have cared about killing a rodent that is already basically a sacrifice? No Boromir was a good man affected by the ring to the point he almost took it from his good friend Frodo, and who died trying to redeem himself for that act. Put the ring on an animal that you really aren’t supposed to be bonding with and suddenly that ring is able to do a whole lot more corrupting cause there are fewer morals and qualms about killing that animal in the way.

it is different from cloning actually. they are taking semi-potent stemcells from your bone marrow and forcing it to turn into a sperm. so that sperm would be capable of fertilizing an egg, however women dont usually have Y-chromosomes so the babies would be XX. this can technically be done with anyone's bone marrow however... also no ones doing this, its be done in the lab but no ones made a baby this way, it would have trouble going through a lot of approvals/studies in animals and such..

Some people just think that 'child support' means 'money you get paid for having given birth' because, in the US justice system, it's a bit of a meme that a man has to be an exemplary member of society and a woman has to be an absolute tramp before the man will receive custody of the woman *wants* custody - which, in practice, has led to it being a typical joke that men are always the ones paying child support. This woman apparently only knew about the 'cultural' meaning of child support and not the literal meaning... as in, money that is paid by one parent to *support* the *child* that is living primarily with the other parent. Though I can't help but wonder, what did this woman think her ex was suing her for? At the beginning of a court case, supposedly, someone has to state out loud for the sake of the records that person X is suing person Y for reason Z, and that X wants things A, B and C from Y as compensation if they win. *Someone* must have told her why exactly she was sitting in this courtroom in the first place. Or maybe she sued her ex and the judge turned that around on her?

27:29 Looked up the "Man raids animals shelter to get cat back" story. The guy was mad that he was told to wait a day to pick up his pet. He threatened a 23-year-old female worker with a gun in the parking lot. Threatened multiple times to shoot her if she didn't listen to his orders. He tied her up with zip-ties after directing him to the cats. Ultimately, he was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and armed robbery and denied bail. The Assault Rifle might have also been fake according to some articles. He even failed in getting his cat so he still had to wait till the next day and then got arrested. Edit: Adding something I maybe should have added before. He called 10 minutes before closing to check if he could get his cat. He would have only had to wait 10 hours to get his cat back. I understand wanting your pet back as fast as possible. Pets are amazing but threatening to end someone's life when you only have to wait 10 hours I cannot understand.

Some people seem to lack an understanding of Tolkien's point. The Ring doesn't affect anyone who isn't wearing it. Boromir was undone not by the Ring, but by his own flaws.

21:45 It's actually a lot worse than cloning. Cloning straight-up copies your genes by replacing the DNA inside a fertilized and growing egg with the genes of another being. However, if a woman were to impregnate herself with semen made from her own genetic material, it would be more akin to incest. Or rather, it would be even worse than even the most severe incest (such as sleeping with a sibling or parent). This would be utterly begging to pick up literally any genetic disorder you can imagine.

If you didn't already have the genes for that disorder you couldn't make it appear. It's incredibly problematic but you've got enough variation in your genes for this not to go horribly wrong immediately. A single generation. I wouldn't push further than a single generation.

@@ejedwards1678 "Enough variation" WTF?? Are you a child or did you not pass biology? You have exactly 2 sets of chromosomes. 1 somewhat shuffled set gets given to a child. If the other half also comes from you, that's 2 times the somewhat shuffled material which means the likelyhood of a lot of identical parts is astronomical. Statistically, you probably have some issues in your genes that are usually not apparent as you have another healthy pair. There's little chance of it not going really wrong and practically none of it not going somewhat wrong at least.
