Fun fact: humans are persistence hunters, meaning early humans caught prey by following it slowly until the prey got tired or slipped up or flat out died. So the concept of “slow hunter that always follows you and will catch you eventually” is just humanity, but we’re on the other end of the hunt.

Bassically every joke like that is on purpose. And the more fucked up it is, the more times the studio/publisher refused them a joke in the drafting stage. This is A because the parents who watch shows with the kids don't get bored, and B so the writers can middle finger the studio.

13:31 In another episode, the balloon character (whose name is Alan) explains how his digestive system works. Food goes in the knot, turns into air, and then comes back out. This shows that the balloons biology is different than humans. The knot is used for breathing and eating, while the mouth is used for communication (Although in one episode we see that after a messed-up surgery, Alans mom now talks through her knot). While I understand that this was meant to be an adult joke, the show actually gives an explanation.

The explanation for the Dutch toilets everyone has such an issue with: it's for health reasons. Not because it's healthier to do your business on Dutch toilets, but because this way you can check your urine and stool easier. And yes, you can just flush it all down. Just like with the toilets you're used to. Also, Dutch toilets prevent splashing, so you won't get toilet water on your bum when you poop.

So little of it had references that younger kids would actually understand. And not just “adult” jokes. Like Sarah mentioning tv tropes, or all that fanboy/fan girl stuff, Rob’s trying to save people from disappearing because they are literally a tv show and after it ends they are DEAD, mr Small’s obsession with being woke, Bobert being a parody of apple products and how they make older versions obsolete, that episode with Tobias’s in app purchases overload, Anais’ cult friend? I mean sooooo many things kids might laugh at, but they don’t know why it’s funny, it’s loud, silly, and and brightly colored!

The Dutch toilet bowl design actually has 2 benefits: - No splash when poop hits the water - More people realise when there's something wrong with their poop because you can look at it better than when it's in the water. This may sound weird, but it can actually help determine serious bowel issues (including ulcers and some forms of cancer). However, this type of toilet bowl hasn't been in production for an x amount of years (much to the dismay of nutritionists and gastroenterologists).
@AhsimNreiziev
@AhsimNreiziev Жыл бұрын
The biggest and most aggravating issue that makes this type of toilet bowl such a piece of idiot design, is that if your logs are a little too big, there is literally no way to get them off of the "shelf" and into the drains. Plus, I've never had the trouble of feeling splashes of water when I use "regular" toilet bowls, so that first concern of yours doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.

"The Amazing World of Gumball" was supposed to be a show for adults set in what looked like a kids show. However, it became a "family friendly"/"all ages" show later in production (apparently due to network interference). However, they still put in a lot of jokes for adults that children won't understand yet. So that explains the eggplant joke. It's a pretty good and creative show both in visuals and writing, it's worth a watch.

One thing I've heard in "defence" of weirder 50s and 60s food is that it was straight after WWII, so in addition to loads of people having less to eat due to rationing, new food items were being released to the public so people were apparently just trying anything to see what worked. It took a long time for rationing to fully end in the UK so it makes sense that some more readily available ingredients would be used in places we wouldn't typically expect.

You better crush the eggshells before you give them to the chickens because if they realize that the thing they lay is the same thing they ate yesterday, well... Sometimes they put two and two together.

@@trishapellis Only if they have a tendency , a need, or are "troubled". I've done the "cook the eggs and sterilyze the shells" and have just tossed raw, whole eggs to them. Well balanced, non-"egg eating" chickens have no trouble with not confusing what you give them to eat from what they lay. Egg-eaters make the unfortunate connection and end up next week's meal. I've found that even birds that are at a higher than normal need for protein resist eating nest eggs, but will swarm tossed eggs like the little dinosaurs they are.

I actually looked into one of those pedal wheelchairs. My issues weren't with my legs at the time, it's in my NECK, so I can't push a normal wheelchair using my arms. Unfortunately, the damned things are about 3x the cost of a powered wheelchair, which I wound up getting.

@@remor698 Mass production. It's easier to make a lot of something, and cheaper once you get the line set up. Putting pedals as a wheelchair propulsion is either a homemade work-around or would have to geared for mass manufacture, and that would require enough of a demand to justify the expense. A backyard hobbiest might be able to do it, for a reasonable price, but it would look like what it is and not have all the required safety features lots of people seem to expect.

I don't know why anybody would be opposed to the matrix especially if you could use it in different purposes, imagine being able to go to any anime isekai or whole new worlds and having it be able to feel exactly how it would in real life, making the experience basically real. that's giving you infinite enjoyment and giving you actual freedom to do whatever you want with no difference from real life except what you choose to be different

I played piano for a while, I also have hyperflexible finger joints, so your comment hit home lmao. Quite ironically though, this means playing for too long can hurt, as the joint closest to the tip of my finger bends back too far and keeps putting pressure on it when I hit the keys. Can't have it all I guess.

24:38 Exploring the depth of the ocean is as hard if not harder than to explore space. And face similar problems with travel, communication and reliability. In space you need a vessel that can hold the pressure of 1 atmosphere basically for the rest of the universe. To explore depth you need vessel that can withstand 1 additional atmosphere of pressure for every 100m of depth it travels. Building autonomous or remotely controlled robot to send billions of kilometers away is likely cheaper, than build a robot, to send 10km deep under the surface of the ocean. Ocean is scary af.

I find the Harry Potter / Rapper thing even funnier, because Coldmirror (a German KZbinr that makes a lot of Harry Potter content) created the figure 'Fresh Dumbledore' as a joke. And I thought to myself 'Come on, how can you not reference Fresh Dumbledore in that situation!?'. Than I remembered that I am on an English speaking KZbin channel from a Swedish KZbinr and Click most likely has no idea, who Coldmirror even is. And now I am upset. :C

5:57 Fun fact. The funny thing about Click asking how it's still alive is that it barely is. This species endangered xD. It lives in New Zealand (I think?) and for the longest time didn't have any predatory enemies, so they just evolved to not needing to fly and anything. Until humans started to inhabit NZ and accidentally brought rodents or smth with them. Now the Kakapoo had enemies once again, but wasn't equipped to defend itself anymore and thus started to go down in numbers
