"A routine that we love, creates a life that we love" definitely writing that down! Sometimes I forget how important it is to have a routine. I used to find routines boring but I'm slowly realizing that my life becomes a mess when I let go of my routine! This actually inspired me to reflect and slowly create a new and manageable routine for myself. Thank you! :) Edit: Congrats on 400k subs!!! :)

Yes routines actually liberate us and align us with our truest being. Its either we dictate our own time or allow ourselves to get swept into someone elses idea. (And thats so easily done in this modern world of advertisement)

I love having routines. Used to hate them in the past but now I understand what it really is and I can't live without one. Routines gives my day structure and it instills discipline and keeps me organised throughout the day. Without one, I feel lost and unmotivated to do anything. Now I find doing chores really enjoyable, I just put on my headphones and blast my favourite music. It makes doing chores so much more fun. Thanks again Sophie for sharing. Take care 💞

well said once again! our routines should be simple and enjoyable for us, they should make us feel accomplished and at peace. But we should always remember that even if some days we can't complete our routine because of a sudden incident or because something important came up we should not be hard on ourselves. ❤

I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I’ve had to overhaul how I approach studying, working out and taking care of my brain (journaling) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my studying, exercise and journaling habit - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on YT. Because historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up.

I enjoyed your video very much. And I found that breaking up the day in 3 parts - also works for me. I used to have time schedules, to-do lists and various other productivity techniques, but only when I realised that they all prompted me to rush in an effort to achieve some goal, I paused because I wasn't enjoying it, I wasn't living my life - I was passing it. Then I realised that I needed to slow down and that's why I am here - learning from you and others :)

I need to call something out: I am autistic I LOVE doing the same things again and again, I actually don't do well when things deviate because it's extremely chaotic and confusing. Setting routines is still hard as I've a lot of things pulling my attention elsewhere, but I function best when I get to do the same things all the time. It's very pleasant. I know you didn't mean harm but we really need to get casually ableist, judgemental statements like that out of our speech. All of us (I mistakenly do this about things that don't impact me too, coming from a place of experience with that comment)

It’s not as easy as you say if you don’t have financial stability. My mom is a nurse, my dad died three years ago. My brother is 15. I’m Italian. It’s my first job. I work as a shop assistant 1 hour by car from where I live: I leave at 8 am, get back at 9 pm and have 1 day of rest where I do housechores and go around town buying things and food for the next week. I’m exhausted and it’s just been 1 month. Also I can’t write my MA thesis because I’m always tired. And I’m pretending that I’m so happy about all of this because I’m no one and no one would give me any job. My day of rest is Monday, my boyfriend has an office job so he’s free on the weeknd. We see each other only after dinner when he comes to sleep at my house around 10,30 pm during the week or we have dinner together at 9/9,30 pm during the weeknd, needless to say I’m always tired and sleepy and I haven’t enjoyed our intimate times together since I started this job.

It is much easier to have a good routine when the weather is constantly warm, daytime, evening, mornings, temperatures around 20-30 degrees. When visited Honolulu few yrs ago I got energy beyond my imagination. I am the person who hates cold & unfortunately I am living in a called city, 7 months of fricken cold, plus now the rising costs of keeping rooms warm is very very challenging. Australian continent is not so warm as some might think, people really struggle to stay warm in some cities.

I so agree. For me, the structure of routine creates the balance to the more whimsical side of me. The contrast is really necessary. Although most my routines just come naturally to me, just doing what I like. Also, since my fulltime job is not real inspiring, I start at 6am, so that leaves more of my daytine open and available for relaxing and doing errands, socializing, etc. It was a sacrifice at first to get up at 4:30am, but now I love it.

This was right on time. The thought of routine just made me cringe. But now I’m starting to create “to do” lists and realizing that it’s important and helpful for structural purposes because I’m all over the place without it but I love the statement “create a routine you love…. I’m learning to make small tweaks of the routine to make it more desirable. Like changing the alarm sounds or driving a different way to work. Life is an experience so the beauty of it is that… it’s ok 💜 I’m giving my self grace. What I didnt think would ever be fun for me is working at this phase in life.

Get up, let out the dogs, feed the dogs, go out and milk the goats, feed them and throw hay for the donkeys. Then, gather eggs and feed the chickens and pigs. Make breakfast. Go out and work in the gardens. Go for a walk with the dogs around the farm. THEN improvise the rest of the day, split between hobbies and projects and pen cleaning. Go back to sleep.

Thanks for those great tips! It's funny, because I found out the exact same things by trial and error. 😉 This video totally confirmed my findings on routines. My life used to be very chaotic and consumed a lot of time for unnecessary tasks. I also separeted my day into 3 parts: dealing with persons - lunch - office time. This works perfectly and gives me a lot of energy back. And I created a little cookbook with my boyfriend too for our most favourite recipes. This is very helpful when time is limited and helps to stay away from fast food. 😍

I just came across this video and i can't believe i am in sync with this wonderful and beautiful lady. First of all, i like experimenting with new foods and trying out nee dishes, i find it therapeutic and i like to add healthy foods to nourish my body. Its one of my goals to eat for my health. I have learnt portuguese french and spanish in my past and I wanted to focus on learning them this year but started in the month of January and havent done it since. I also painted last year but stopped as i needed to find where the best place to get white acrylic paint at a cheaper price. I was wondering if i could buy a different type of paint but i dont know if i can use craft paint (or whatever u call it) and acrylic paint on one project. I dont know if u can mix different types of points because im not knowledgeable in that area. Also i agree the 5 minute rule. Every night i read my bible as a goal to read the whole book eventually, i hope. I also add journalling to my night routine but i struggle with it sometimes so i force myself to do it because its important. I want to change my whole routine to become more healthy and productive (which is why i came to your video). I liked the concept lf doing things when it matches you, i will use this method . I like tidying at night and being lazy in the morning and then in the afternoon i like to become productive but also get nice recipes made

I really enjoyed this video. Like you, I previously resisted "routine" as something too boring, but as time has progressed, I've begun to value the structure of routine in my life. I can still be spontaneous when I want to, but having the routine helps keep my life simpler and calmer. BTW, I think I recognize that farmer's market, and I love to go to it! Also recognize the black lava rock near the end of the video, another place I like to go, because it's often quiet! Mahalo for sharing your valuable insights!

Great. Very positively narrated. Like the slow voice with clear video. The minute aspects are covered with best articulation. Hope I also find a purpose in daily life. Instead of thinking becoming Nepolean overnight without actually doing something..😐
