Hi Gary, thanks for another great tutorial. In PSE 14 and earlier I could do this with the line brush. I used to like to add shading of light and dark grey inside the frame and give the it more depth. Assume can do this with more layers of these grey shades and stack them on top of each other although the tricky part would be getting top and left in light grey and bottom and right in dark grey.without obscuring either shade. Maybe another video from you will sort this conundrum ha ha!!! Over to you Master. Regards.

Hey Gary, thank you for this tutorial, very useful. One question. The saved new ones with black border are 192 KB vs the original jpeg at 8.9 meg. Is that normal? Many thanks
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer4 жыл бұрын
No it shouldn't be but perhaps my files are low re for download I actually cant remember sorry. If they are and you place your files withing them it will take up the base file size. That sounds like it may be the issue 😀👍👍

Love this. How do I make a grid in PS? Thanks
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris and thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. To create a grid in photoshop : File new > 50 x 50px Draw two lines through centre > 1 vertical and 1 horizontal Combine/merge these two layers together. Turn off background layer goto Edit>Define Pattern (name the pattern) Create a new blank document of any size. Goto the paint bucket tool and along the address bar at the top, instead of foreground change that to pattern. select your newly created pattern and click anywhere on your new document. Hope that helps😀👍👍

Hi Gary, I just got an email from Skylum saying that they are coming out with a new product Luminar AI. It is not an upgrade to Luminar 4, but a new product that they are releasing to replace Luminar 4. It looks like it is just an improved version of Luminar 4. It is supposed to be easier and faster. I was wondering if you have heard anything about it? Do you think that it is worth the upgrade? I am curious to hear your thoughts. Dean
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dean, its a completely new software all AI powered under the hood. It's definitely not an upgrade to Luminar4.3 although they are continuing with updates for 4.3 for another year. I attended the briefing about it and am definitely very interested to see what it can do ie not test driven it yet though from a users point of view. But from what I've seen it looks good. It provides you with quicker results and no more layer editing, which I was unsure about but there's a tool brush that has the flexibility of layer editing (hard to explain that one without seeing it in practice) so it would make it easier for users that struggle with layers to get the same results quickly. I'll do a video on it once I have test driven it but at the moment they are giving you an early bird offer plus a 30 day money back guarantee if its not for you so I think that's a fair deal 😁 Post processing changes and evolves all the time so it'll be great to see what it can do in the hands of users. Plus with the money back guarantee you can't go wrong😁👍

@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer Thank you Gary for the information. I am looking forward to hearing what you think about it when you get your hands on it. I did purchase it...with a discount (which is only available for limited time) and a 30 day trial period, I would be crazy not to. Thanks again. Take care. Dean

great thank you. One question. In the second picture, you started with the image and then covered it and then brought the image again. What ever happened to the first base image? Also when do you work on the picture? before you start the border and then save it? Thanks. Really fantastic and creative
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bernie and thanks for watching. To answer your 2nd question first, I edited and saved it earlier. As for the base layer in the 2nd image thats underneath the white and was measly added to create the overall dimensions of 7k x 4k pixels. Hope that answers your questions 😁👍🙏

Hello, this video has been very useful. But there is something I want to ask. You first started by adding a new image layer and added an edited jpeg. Can we edit RAW and do this at the end, or is yours the only option? Thanks.
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer3 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it. You would be able to in L4.3 & Luminar AI just by adding a border at the end but you would lose the width of the border of your image. Thanks for watching 😀👍👍
@ahmetanak3 жыл бұрын
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer I already asked to Skylum. They said that only at the beginning put a new white image layer and second put the photo. How can we put the border at the end? Thank you.
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer3 жыл бұрын
@@ahmetanak Yeah it's using the method I've shown or only by adding it as a texture but as I mentioned you will lose some of the image unfortunately
@ahmetanak3 жыл бұрын
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer I guess you mean put a texture at the end and apply masking the texture, right? Or any other way you say?

Excellent! Now...here is the next challenge: how to add a thin, black border around the image to simulate full-frame printing. So the end result would be an image with a thin black border printed on a white paper. THANKS! in advance.
@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer4 жыл бұрын
Hi Regan, hope this helps... Edit your image and then add a pre-created thin edge image layer( as per last video except thinner) then export your image. Then follow the steps in 2nd image of this video. Does that make sense? Thanks for watching🙏😁👍
