it makes me so angry the families participated in this. the families should absolutely be charged for false impresonment and possibly torture. some of them were holding them down even. i cant imagine doing that to someone i love. i cant imagine not feeling guilty, and none of them seemed to.

This episode freaked me out sooo much lol. My Grandma tricked me into seeing The Exorcist when it was re-released in theaters (I was 12-13). She said do you wanna go to an old horror movie with me..? To which I thought something like The Blob, or old black & white like Dracula or Frankenstein or something. I was VERY wrong, & was completely & utterly traumatized! I clung to her arm the entire time cause I thought anyone around could be possessed, & then I thought she could be possessed, & I was terrified of being possessed. I’m not even religious, was raised Christian & went to church till I was..bout 8-ish. Now I’m afraid of churches. Nothing terrifies me more than that film & the idea of demonic possession even though I’m not sure I believe in it lol. But uh yeah, utterly traumatized (I’m 35 now).

The same thing happened to my mom, but with Friday the 13th. She got so traumatized that she couldn't even look at hockey masks. when I was 11, I watched Friday the 13th and the exorcist, but they gave me my horror addiction lol funny how stuff effects people differently

This is one of the strange episodes of this show. They touched the tip of the subject not explaining much...I mean they raised many questions without answers cause those themes are too big for just one episode. Not to mention how many people were involved in those murders and got away like families of victims and the priest's helpers...

This episode annoyed me so much because he corrupted the religious component of exorcism for his own wants. He became a vigilante killer thinking the men killed his friends. If you look at Bibical possession(not here to debate religion just want to put the facts out here of what is written) None of the exorcisms in the Bible took days or even hours to solve. They also did not throw water or raise a cross to do them (both things seen mainly In modern culture that had contorted the original simple process)the process was extremely simple and only required 1 thing true faith 1- Identify the person is possessed ( psychotic tendencies and other things that show pure evil in the person) 2- Command the demon to identify its self in the lords name (this verify's you are right that they are possessed as the deamons must respond to the creators name) 3- Cast them out in Jesus name That's all ... plain and simple then go back about your day. [Also only true followers of Jesus could do this] Buddhism, Christianity,Haitian Vodou, Hinduism, Islam, jewish, Wicca, and Southeast Asian, African, and Native American traditions all believe In one sort of possession or another by the way.

Unless Matthew participated in occult rituals, it's highly unlikely for him to be demon-possessed. I'm surprised that Matthew's parents didn't bother to question that. I know people who have done drugs, but they weren't even close to being demon-possessed. Using magic and divination opens people up to demonic possession, but there was no evidence that Matthew was into that stuff. Sounds like he was questioning everything, because Emily was treated badly after getting an abortion. It's so easy for religious people to condemn wrong-doing, but neglect mercy and compassion. It's very important to understand the person and why someone does what they do.

Also, in the past, and even in some cases, now, people who have certain mental illnesses were also thought to be possessed by demons. Also, I think people who were really deep into the drug addiction, were also thought to be possessed by demons because of the changes in personality.
