Great video Sophie, I found it to be very informative. Wish I had seen this video before I had made the decision of getting my first crimson bellied conure. Great advice 👍🏻 Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone 😉

Wonderful video, I never knew CBCs were different from GCCs!! Always love your channel + David's content too, hope you guys have a great day. (I also really enjoy seeing your parrots hanging out with you guys during videos, 10:03 is extra adorable🥹)

This video has so much great information! I even paused it a few times to take notes. I had no idea crimson-bellied were so different than GCC!

Honestly I'm glad you've released this video, it helps to have less misinformation. Because of you I actually know about this species and I'd love for you to do more videos on them if you are able. I'd love to know more about their body language as well. I know how you feel about the misinformation, I had the same issue when trying to research Siren's species. Some websites even said they should only be owned by breeders to increase the population because they are rare in aviculture and the wild. I'm slowly learning Siren's body language and quirks (he has a lot) hopefully posting about him raises awareness of amazon behaviours.

Thanks for watching! We will definitely have some more body language videos coming up! I’ve worked with a variety of Amazons in the past - fabulous little birds but they can definitely be tricky to read!

@@BirdNerdSophie After working with a orange winged amazon, I can say the vinaceous is a lot easier, quieter, and easier to read. I just wish there was more on him about. I would live to meet someone who owns this species because they are my favourite, and someone to ask advice/compare notes with. I can't even find sources that agree what weight he should be!

Could you make more videos on these? Are there any differences (personality, behavior, and more) between male and female red bellies? Thanks! ❤🦜

Yes I will do 🥰 we haven’t noticed a particular difference between males and females!

It's on my to-do list haha! :) But general speaking in the morning we offer one tablespoon of food - half sprouts and soaked times, and half a variety of veggies. They'll also get 1-2 small pieces of fruit and maybe a soaked nut. In the afternoon they get a tablespoon of food make up of freeze dried veg, herbs, spices, flowers, seeds, grains, nuts etc!

I didn't know about crimson bellied when I bought 1, that one I lost him as he flew away only after 2 months with me I think Then I bought a pair, still not knowing that they are not gcc. It's only recently that I found out more about them. Your video gave me more insight about crimson bellied. The male is my issue as it bites me really hard, the female would bite but not as hard. And the female kinda wants to be around me most of the time it's out. I think I have some trust issues with the male, ang I'm considering selling the male and keeping the female.

I have two white face male cockatiels in my Bird room and I’m just about to get a 4 1/2 year old Redbelly Conyer. I’ve spoke to the owner and heard nothing but great things but I am curious if I’m able to keep them in the same room because of the dust of a cockatiel. I do have two large filters in that room. Will there be a time they can be out together?
@BirdNerdSophie10 ай бұрын
Bonding work between individuals can take a varying amount of time but I do have a video on that! As for the dust, if you have air purifiers and clean them regularly then it will be fine!

Would you say Pearly Conures are similar to CBC? I have a Pearly (almost 4yo) and would love to introduce a CBC to my flock :) Do you think they could live together in the same cage? My pearly used to live with my Pineapple GCC (sadly passed) but realised she was more bonded to him than me. id love for her to still be bonded to me if I introduce a CBC as shes very cuddly :)
@BirdNerdSophie Жыл бұрын
They are definitely similar! We do find crimsons to be more bitey and sensitive though! They’re definitely not a species for the faint hearted 😅
