I have very intrusive cringe memories, every day, often multiple times a day. Many of them hurt so bad, I wince and groan like I'm in physical pain. Sometimes when they sneak up on me, and people are around, I have to cover the groan like I was just clearing my throat, or stretching my neck. Not sure how effective it is >.

You don't have to convince yourself that those cringe moments were the best times of your life, because they clearly weren't, and trying to reframe them that way might not feel genuine. Instead, what I do is accept myself fully as a state of consciousness having a human experience. I recognize that navigating this human experience can be tricky, and we might embarrass ourselves often. But that's okay. It's important to give yourself love, understanding, and compassion. By doing so, you can free that version of yourself that's burdened with guilt and shame, allowing you to fully embrace your humanness and learn how to do better next time.

Mine embarrassing moment was at the airport. We were heading home from Kenya using travelling documents without passports and the student visa. We were told by our parents that's all we needed and it was our first time travelling since we settled in kenya. At the time I had misplaced our passports and we were going to renew them. There they told us we are supposed to be arrested it was so embarrassing cuz the man was shouting and caught everyone's attention at the end of it all we still go to leave cuz a nice hearted man the ones that check the travelling documents and passports, decided to question us instead of the loud guy. At the end he said we are from a well off family and we were young and not threatening so he will let us ho but the mistake is not to be repeated. It always replays in my head and I don't have peace because of that day and I'm really scared of airports now

yours made me giggle, I'll tell you one of mine. I was 11 and for the first time ever I caught my crush's eye, I was so excited. I didn't look away, I stared at him head-on, with intense eyes. If I was an anime girl I think I'd have had those crazy eyes lol. Anyway my crush was so freaked out he walked away in panic, and surprisingly I wasn't embarrassed afterward, I think I thought I was in a movie or sth lmao. Hope this makes you feel better :) ps he never looked at me the same. now when I think of it I just cringe.

Thank you so much for this rich content. I made a mistake when I was complimenting my colleague on her birthday. A kind of similar thing happened to me but it's like 1000x more embarrassing. A guy texted me saying that he likes me and i replied to him. I also got a text from my friend saying that she likes him and she told me to ignore that guy. But i still texted him but i just did some normal conversation and that's it. After that my friend got upset and she blocked me. The next day i told my other friend to tell that guy that i actually like that guy because i was angry. My friend did tell him and later i found out that it was just a prank. I'm so embarrassed right now. I just want to kms. I want to move to a different country. That so called friend is going to tell everyone about this. I'm so so embarrassed. And i did apologize to her for replying to that guy a hundred times and i didn't even talk to him that much. 😂you guys don't have a chance against mine. When I was young was in the biggest library in my town. I stopped studying and started watching videos and it started to get darker. Suddenly all the windows behind me started to reflect back. Then I decided to do something I swear I have never done before. I opened porn. Many people from a room full of hundreds of people where laughing at me. I was wearing a head phone so I didn't notice. But in the end I did. I have never fully recovered from that shame. Some times the memory comes back and I shout like a crazy person and then pretend like it was a huge sneeze.😅😂😂😂

Around all my friends, coworkers and classmates or even in my past relationships all my ex gfs have told me how I’m the most emotionally stable person they’ve met, level headed etc. Yet, when I talk to my dad or brothers and feel like I’m the subject of the joke or like I messed up and everyone’s watching I get uncontrollably flustered. It’s been a problem since I was 15. I can’t control it however I’ve made considerable improvement but still when it strikes I just feel hurt. This has led to me creating this image around my family that’s different from anyone else. Im in 1000% more stressful and difficult situations outside my home, yet when I pulled up to a yellow light and decided to stop instead of going through PURELY because my dad was in the car, I exploded. And again, the image in his mind is reinforced and I can’t explain to him 10 years of things influencing me. Maybe I’ll start a journal. Thanks for the video, man. Sorry for the rant

One thing that I've been recently doing but I'm not sure how helpful in the long run is connecting an intrusive embarrassing memory to something that someone else did around the same time that i recall which was cringier than me and associating the 2 memories so that when the one of myself turns up, I recall the other and feel less embarrassed by comparison. I dont know if this is a good strategy in the long term though.

Okay so I wanted to share this so I cringe less and feel better hopefully... I tend to overthink a lot even on the silliest of things. So I have a friend at college and we leave together after our lectures get over. This time basically after our class got over at college, I left earlier thinking she's with her friend but turned out she wasn't because I saw her friend at the gate and I felt guilty and came home and texted her sorry... And she goes why sorry its okay and now I cringe because I shouldn't have texted her and should have ignored it because she's a sweet person and she really doesn't mind but... I overthink and I thought she might have felt bad so thats why I texted her the sorry... And now I'm feeling extremely embarrassed after creating this mess....😅

Thanks for sharing. Isn't it funny how we are so harsh on ourselves for small things or minor misunderstandings. I hear you.

So here I am all over again for another super embarrassment... I hope sharing it out makes me feel better... So basically there's an upcoming college fest in my college.. a teacher incharge for singing came in our class today to ask for students who can come in front and give auditions... I under peer pressure and some excitement ended up giving my name for it..only to realise later that this is certainly not my cup of tea... I went to meet the teacher in the break to inform her that I'm sorry I couldn't do it.. she said atleast try... The auditions we're scheduled after college. I went to meet her at the reported time along with the other students but the student incharge who happens to be a neighbour informs that she's busy in a meeting and we'll have to wait... I explained her the whole scenario and told her I don't want to put myself in this although I myself came forward earlier... I'm so bad at deciding but I honestly didn't want to do all realised that I just didn't want to do it... I'm feeling so bad about all this rn... I'm so bad at making a decision and I'm so fickle minded. She's such a sweet teacher but I feel as if I've fallen in her eyes... I know I shouldn't have given my name in the first place but... I've messed up now... I returned home... I'm feeling extremely guilty about all this... I'm planning to make a nice card and get some flowers and a chocolate along with it to apologise to her the next day... I hope she doesn't judge and hate me... I wish I could just vanish.

Genuinely there was a period of my life where i was on so many drugs i was so weird and did wtf ever. I probably smelled musty, wore weird combos of clothing, and dyed my hair all sorts of colors. I just acted very weird and by behavior was probably best described as manic. Im having a hard time letting it go even though i dont remember that period at all, other people do and they all agree that i was weird asf😭😭 i literally wanna move away and meet completely new people atp. Eugh

One time I was drunk and was singing like no one was watching, little did I realise my brother and hes friends where outside my window watching me dance around like a proper mug they never even heard me raise my voice to music it was something i never could have courage for until that gruesome fateful drunk night......... I am a proper manly man and cant sing to save my life..... I laugh about it but my goddnesss!!!!! What is worse is i didnt know the song and was trying my hardest to sing OPRA when i have no idea what the song even means 🤨 They caught it on HD CAM and i even look at the cameras direction and sing for an extra 2 minutes without realising 😔 I am the type who dont even like jumping in a picture and have spent my life taking the piss majorly outta these things along with my brothers and friends. To say i slept right for the rest of the year would be a lie, it was so bad I stopped turning up for family dins at that very moment, Its funny but to think it kept me in my house for months is weird hahaa and i never drunk again since hahaa. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

I have a similar one. It was during my Disney princess phase. so, every so often I would go to our house balcony at night (very sober) and sing my heart out. One of the nights I was so caught up in a song I just kept singing it on repeat and there was this guy playing ball nearby, it wasn't that late a night. He was so fed up with my singing, he yelled Shut Up while I was singing. I choked and that was the brutal end of my Disney phase lol. Now that I think of it I must have been disturbing a lot of people lmao

I hit my head in the car this afternoon, had to go to work with an ugly cap to cover my devils horn, trying to sneak off to work from home and then getting questions if I’m ok and where I’m going, just a typical traumatizing day 😂 i think there is something to be said about being this presentable person all the time and how terrifying it is when you can’t but have to go there anyway.

I must be lucky to only have this cringe with situations in which I "misbehave" from my normal me. Which happens more and more. When I make just normal mistakes it doesnt bother me but sometimes I lose my temper and the regret is always accompanied by overthinking about it and cringing so hard that I make noises out loud all day. I hate it. What have I become over the past two years😢 It seems like this woman who would just accept everything she was given only to feel loved back has become a Karen. It sometimes feels good and absolutely right but the Karen is becoming more and more dominant in my personality
