All of your students did such a fantastic job with this! This scenario also provides an easy and controlled introduction to dealing with the pain response in a fight. When I was training at Yokkao 4-5 years ago, I was given the honor to spar with Singdam Kiatmookao and that pendulum kick to the rear leg is how he KO'ed me. We were sparring with no shin guards and went pretty heavy so it was especially painful. That kick seriously works and we all should learn to defend it and condition our rear leg against it. (Btw, getting KO'ed by Singdam was the coolest thing that happened to me even to this day. Bragging rights for years, no joke) Great vid, Jeff.

Here's a thought. On hit, you give out a sound/scream. After a while, your opponent gets condition to hearing your sound/scream prior to taking your punch. Once that happens, you release a sound/scream, you opponent goes into block mode, but instead of punching him, you try to spot an opening which he is not blocking and hit him there.

😂😂😂 I know this very well. My master work for my diploma on sports faculty was "tameshiwari"(breaking stuff) and iron body or "tai kitae" (body conditioning for taking kicks and punches). So I still do the traditional body conditioning where you stand and take blows (of course with out injuries) and punch and kick hard surfaces. But this has to be done according to the level of athlete. There is no point in missing trainings because of a recovery.
