Love it! How do you end the last row? (Fill in the spaces)
@HookedbyRobin4 жыл бұрын
Ah! Good question!!! I can't believe I didn't add that into the video 🤦♀️ For the final row, instead of doing double crochets either side of the spike, do *SINGLE crochet, double crochet spike stitch, SINGLE crochet* So sorry to have left that off! I will pin this comment for others to see 🙂

This is new to me. I've always loved the old stand by granny square by never heard of the spike. But I do love patterns where a color dips into another like a spike, or the Larksfoot etc. I'm terrible at reading patterns. I'm more of a visual learner. Thank goodness for wonderful people like you on KZbin!! 💗

I'm a fan too - anything that looks interesting colour wise / stitch wise but has nice straight rows - far less brain power required than for a chevron 😂

I love this stitch! I’m new to crocheting, I take care of my grandmother who has Alzheimer’s and dementia, and it takes a toll mentally seeing someone you love lose the memories they’ve spent a lifetime making! I decided to learn how to crochet to keep my mind occupied and busy, and it’s been the best thing I have done! I am on my second blanket and I’m good at it! This is almost my second month crocheting, and I’ve learned how to do it by watching KZbin videos! Haha Thank you for sharing this easy stitch, I may use it for my next blanket.❤

Yeah I tried and my yarn was screaming at me. Row 2 was definitely fiddly so what I did was make a single crochet foundation row to thicken up the chain, before working the first row. Seemed to "squish" a little less. I was able to pull up a bit looser having that thicker base row. I looooove this pattern!

I am revisiting your video to say I really enjoy this stitch. It's very easy to follow and easy to do when your watching tv, and the color patterns are endless. The first one I made for my be. He chose chocolate brown, and I added a variegated brown with cream, and a light tan. I used 200ch,+1. And it measured 73" wide. I did 2 rows of choc, 2rows of variegated, then 2 rows of the light tan. Repeated this color series for 120 rows and it came out to 63" wide. My boyfriend loves it. Thank you. I am now in progress of making scrapghan of all my odd ball yarns, so many possibilities, love it

It’s a lovely pattern. Your instructions were easy to follow. I made a sample in soft green, pink, and yellow. These colors made the pattern seem feminine. Next is making it in bright green, orange, and purple for my son. His color choices. In those colors it looks very masculine. Thank you for showing several color choices. I happen to love the colors in your rainbow blanket.

This is the pattern I chose to use my 75 colors of yarn. It's such a lovely combo of stitches that seems to blend any colors you choose. I especially love the colors you used for the baby blanket, it looks almost baroque style and so elegant, it does NOT deserve to be in your naughty pile!
