I am in the middle of making this blanket and I am at row 42 and this seems kind of big. What are the dimensions of the blanket when I get to row 96? I was wondering if I could start doing the border when I thought the blanket was big enough - what do you think?

Just started crocheting again after a 30 year hiatus to make myself a new updated throw blanket. I have been watching videos for several weeks trying to find the perfect pattern and came across this video. This is such a simple yet beautiful pattern and the way you take the time to explain each stitch is wonderful. My search is over; I will be using this pattern and you have a new subscriber. Thank you so much. I can't wait to get started.

Just finished a lovely blanket for the newborn and much too early son of my collegue. He kept his parents and everyone quite in a fright since he arrived at 31 weeks. But little Morris pulled througj so well. I, as just a collegue from his dad, so at quite a distance from all the fuzz and worry, wanted to do something positive with the energy and ordered some lovely blue-toned cottons and taught myself how to crochet with this great tutorial. Thank you so much for the clear explanation, well filmed shots that made it so easy to follow every step. I’m happy with the result, and very much into learning more. Morris is home from the hospital now, and my blanket is ready just in time. Hope to see the little man soon and hand over my present to his mum and dad.

Think I'll make this (these) and donate to our hospital. Live in the poorest County in the state. It would be wonderful.
@lesliebarrett60522 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! On my first day of chemo last month, my nurse gave me a quilt, handmade by the Quilters Guild in our area. I never cried when I was diagnosed, or when they said I had to have chemo. But I definitely cried when she handed me that quilt! It meant more to me than you could ever imagine! I've made many baby quilts for family & friends, I've crocheted stuff for them. I've given lots away just because. But this quilt given to me is special. I will treasure it always!🥰

Oh Sherri I just got emotionally touched by your comment. I feel so connected with making things to help others and for you to make this blanket for someone at a hospital in a low economic situation would be such an incredible blessing. Could you email me with more information on this hospital you are planning to donate to? I would love to try to help also. email: info@crochetwithTiffany.com

Sherri Fennel, you have a heart of gold! ❤ You are serving God when you serve others. You have touched my heart to do the same. I can include the instructions on how to care for the item. And Tiffany, you are an angel for wanting to help that low income county. Leslie Barrett, I had breast cancer surgery this past September. I am blessed to not need chemo. I will try and do something for the cancer patients at our cancer center where I see my oncologist. Such a ripple effect when people like you three ladies do an act of love for others. ❤❤❤ God bless y’all so much! ❤

I'm a self taught crocheter from way back when and I think I'm getting better at it 😊 I'm always looking for patterns to make baby blankets and my reasoning is this... I am making baby blankets for my great great grandbabies before they even get born. It's exactly the reason you spoke of at the beginning of your tutorial. I figure if I have so many premade that there will be enough to go around when the baby's start coming and I'm not here physically on this Earth to share and enjoy them. Though I know my soul will always know of them. I'm adding your pattern to my collection and I'm so excited to do so. Thank you for sharing , your very easy to follow and your so clear ❤

I really like this pattern and in the middle of making. I have listened over and over to your explanation of total rows….saying end with row 96; however, in the video you clearly state to end with the odd row (sc, ch 2, sk 1). What am I missing? Thank you kindly for helping.
@CrochetWithTiffany2 жыл бұрын
Oh gosh I must have done the math for the 2 row repeat and forgot to add the extra row to the count. I guess that would take you to row 97 with that extra row of (sc, chain 1, skip 1). Sorry for the confusion. Hope this helps. 😊❤️🧶

Hi Louise! That is a great question! Actually, yes there is. This pattern is worked in a multiple of 2. Oh, this pattern would look lovely in a Twin Size Blanket! It will definitely take some time though. Can't wait for you to make this! 😊🧡🧶

I'm so excited to make this for my new grand baby! Problem is I got the yarn before I got the pattern lol, and I'm a newbie to crochet, can I use a 4 medium, I-9 5.5 to make this same blanket?
@CrochetWithTiffany Жыл бұрын
Hi Dana! Yes! You can use a size 4 weight yarn and I/9-5.5 crochet hook and be just fine. You blanket will be slightly larger than mine but honestly that’s ok. I completely understand being excited to go buy the yarn!! Half the excitement right there. I hope you have so much fun making this blanket and love the results. 😊❤️🧶
@midgethorn40832 жыл бұрын
Tiffany, could you go up to a 5.5 for the border to keep it from curling? Is there a 5.25? This is really simple and elegant.
@CrochetWithTiffany2 жыл бұрын
Hi Midge! Yes, I think that is a great idea to go up to a 5.50mm crochet hook for the border. Loosen it up a bit. I don't believe there is a 5.25mm. If you run into the border starting to ruffle know that the stitches are now too loose or to big for the space and play with it a little. If you do give this a try and can I would love for you to send me a picture of how it turns out! Either in my Private Facebook Group "I'm Hooked For Hope" OR email me at info@crochetwithTiffany.com.

Using a different yarn because it’s the PERFECT color lol! It is a 5 weight. How would I adjust?

Oh FUN! Totally get it Angie. When you find the right color everything just kinda works around that. I actually did make a video showing how to change the size of a blanket. Check this out and let me know if it helps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYXcnaR7p7OqbsU

Hi does this pattern work with a bulkier yarn?
@StitchesbySharonH2 жыл бұрын
Such a pretty pattern! I have a question about the beginning. I’ve just learned how to do foundation stitches for the first row, rather than chaining so many stitches. Is there a way to do foundation stitches with the chain one spaces, or are they only for solid rows of single, half double, double and treble crochet stitches? I hope my terminology is correct and that my question makes sense! Thank you in advance and thank you for sharing! 💜
@CrochetWithTiffany2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon! That is a great question! Ok, so the foundation row is generally made with those solid basic stitches. The Single crochet, Half Double crochet, Double and Treble. You did great with the terminology by the way. 😉. I think this blanket pattern would be tricky and may not work with the first row being that chain 1, skip 1, sc pattern. HOWEVER! If you wanted to deviate and add make the first row a chainless sc foundation and then start the chain 1, skip 1, sc pattern in the next row you could absolutely do that and it really wouldn't effect the pattern. You would be ok. You Might be able to tell the bottom row looks different when working the border but you would REALLY have to look and know what you were looking for. But the blanket will still be beautiful and you will then be able to begin the blanket the way that is most comfortable for you. Hope this helps! 😊🧶🧡

I loved making this blanket. I am wondering if you have a good method for blocking a blanket because my edges did curl.
@CrochetWithTiffany Жыл бұрын
Great question! I would just work on side at a time, and steam block. Lay the blanket flat, steam till slightly damp, then pin or clamp down. 😊❤️🧶

Tiffany I made mine with a lovely pale pink cotton,. Firstly it's got wider as I go and secondly my edges are wobbly. What did I do wrong? Thx
@CrochetWithTiffany Жыл бұрын
Hi Deborah, Hmm, I might double check your stitch count to see if you accidentally added some stitches to your rows. That is generally the cause of blankets getting wider. If you have the same stitch count it might just be the weight of the cotton yarn pulling. The Wobbly edges are usually caused from having a tight crochet stitch tension. You can fix that by either Blocking your blanket OR going back and working the edge with a looser stitch. I hope this helps! 😊❤️🧶
