Love the color you used, and this hat was so easy to do! My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was9 yrs old, I'm 53 now and still love to crochet. My gram is 90 now and unfortunately can no longer enjoy doing what we love to do. I made her the slippers you have posted on your channel and she adores them!!. Thanks for all the great patterns, they make me feel like I'm crocheting along with my gram again. Have a lovely holiday season!!!

I love this pattern. I'm gonna make my three best friends and myself some "best friend" hats. lol. Only instead of sewing around the brim and cinching it closed, I experimented with crocheting decreasing hdc's and it worked out perfectly!

That's why I don't crochet large projects, it's too hard when you get off track from 2 weeks ago and then realize somethings off. Ugh. I guess that's why granny squares and afghans were invented, so it can be fixed easily. Thanks for this pattern. It's really cute and simple.

You are so wonderful to crochet-a-long with! I love your calmness. I was wondering if my technique would be possible to put a fold-up (brim) on this hat. If I made my chain longer and only did the 5 single crochet on one of the ends, the other end would be the end I would be able to fold up as a brim. Does this make sense to you? Let me know if you think this could possibly work. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful tutorials.
@CrochetwithClare
@CrochetwithClare 5 жыл бұрын
you could try it and see if it works. you could also add a brim after you have finished the hat by joining your yarn into where you want the brim and add stitches all the way around.

(beginning chain for the same size you are making) Is it 8.5 inches STRETCHED, or 8.5 inches laying down not being pulled? Pull the beginning chain against the tape measure until you get 8.5 inches, or lay it down so it isn't stretching at all and measure? Thank you!

I'm a little confused. Not counting the last row where you crochet into both loops, should you have an even number of rows, or an odd number of rows. It seems to me that this would make a difference in how it looks.

how many chains do you think I would have to do for an adult men's size?and what hook size?
@CrochetwithClare
@CrochetwithClare 7 жыл бұрын
You will need to make enough chains for the measurement that is mentioned in the document I show I would use the hook that is recommended for your yarn, we all have different tension so that is why this hat is done by measurement and not specific amount of chains

I do not like to use earrings or a stitch marker. It is time consuming to keep moving them. I find a different color yarn is best. But that is my personel preference.

hi... can we make ribbed hat top to bottom so that we can use dual color on the same hat
@CrochetwithClare

Hello, not sure exactly what you are asking, if you are asking if we can get this effect by starting at the top of the hat and increasing out and then working our way to the bottom, no I do not know how to make it

Is a 4.5 mm hook considered a g hook?? Mines a 4.25 and I can't find that size in my local stores?? do u think there would be a big difference??
@CrochetwithClare
@CrochetwithClare 7 жыл бұрын
Hello, 4.5 mm is a size 7 hook in the US (according to my conversion chart) not sure where you live. I would go with your 4.25 if that is all you have :)
