If you don't want a string try buttons. Put a loop on the inside and a few buttons on the inside at different widths. You can then adjust it how it fits that day. I did it for a headband for when I wear my hair out vs my hair in twists or braid.

The new video has comments off so I just really wanted to say that inspired me so much! I was alone on new years, family and loved ones in another continent while im abroad on studies. I felt pressure to have plans, and to have resolutions but seeing what you said it can . happen anytime truly made me feel more at ease so thank you for that❤ Happy New Year.

yeah I just fixed that youtube is always turning my comments off when I hit "Allow all comments" :( I'm glad it could help you feel more at ease! An array of different emotions can fill you up around the start of the new year so it's best to do what's best for your specific situation & keeping in mind that there's no one way to celebrate and if you can't do it in a way that's "normal" to everyone else, there's nothing wrong with that❤ Happy new year

I picked up crocheting at the beginning of quarantine! Been obsessed since! But anyway, I have started using elastic chord and elastic bands in my clothing pieces because sadly yarn does stretch out with use. It also helps keep the structure and shape you desire. Just thought I’d share that helpful tip!

@parkerpenafiel90143 жыл бұрын
I would’ve started a little lower with the increase. And the ruffling is usually a sign you’re increasing too fast, but you can also create that effect on purpose if you want a ruffle - good luck! It’s been really cool to see how you’re learning this since I learned young and don’t remember a lot of the process.

I can’t wait to hunker down and finally make a pair of pants 🥹. I often see folx suggest to make the waist band of most garments smaller than your waist size because the ribbing stretches to a certain length (also yarns tend to have stretch as well)… this video helped a lot though 🙏🏽

You are doing amazing at crochet!! I might suggest doing a thicker draw string, and seeing if you can't pull it through back post front post on the ribbing at your waist (not sure if it'll work though since it's back loops only single crochet, but if it does it'll pull the waist tighter when you pull to tie the strings). In the future you can do a couple (or 3 or 4) rows of back post front post double or half double crochet, when working just straight like you were here, to make cuffs and bands and things directly on the work instead of making it separately and needing to sew it on later. If you do it that way, after using the crochet hook to string the draw string through back post front post, you can pull the draw strings to make the top shrink down and get tighter. So if instead of doing single crochet back loops only, you use the front post back post method for your cuffs and bands next time it should be an easy fix as you can add a draw string after the fact, or choose not to if you don't need it. It might be possible to string it through your back looks only though too :)

You made. Frickin. PAAANTS! These are awesome! Some tips from a crochet person: try not using acrylic yarn in the future, maybe try cotton. It is also pretty cheap but a natural fibre and less sweaty. Also: your tanktop was really cute too, ypu could have turned the tube so the seam is at the side like a sise seam and it would have been way less noticeable 😊 really good job!
