We know that when blending with Cromax® Pro Basecoat, the Basecoat Blender is our standard process. In this short video we will show you when you should use the Basecoat Blender and for those limited occasions when we advise not to use it.

Hi , when you apply the base coat do you do that in one hit or let it dry for a bit than apply second coat of base coat and each time you apply enough coat of base coat do you need to put more base coat blender on, thanks
@CromaxEMEA
@CromaxEMEA 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the question. Cromax Pro is developed to use in a 1.5 coat continuous process with no flash needed between coats. With regard to the blender you apply that first and whilst it is still open/wet immediately apply your basecoat to the repair. In these repairs we apply the basecoat in a light effect coat to the widest area to create the blend and then apply subsequent coats wet on wet inside of the first to create the blend.

How do you like the ls400 for the cromax base coat? Do you always use 1.5 bar. Or do you use 2 bar when using blender and high metallics?
@CromaxEMEA
@CromaxEMEA 3 жыл бұрын
The LS400 is one of a number of suggested sprayguns we have listed for use with Cromax pro. In Europe the preferred set up is OBS.

So do you use the color blender first that you spray or do you use the basecoat first then the color blender last.
@CromaxEMEA
@CromaxEMEA 3 жыл бұрын
When using the blender it is applied first so that it helps capture the basecoat overspray.

No, the blender is in most cases designed to be used directly from the can after a short shake.

I tried this spraying from the outside in with the blender and got a ring 😑and is the blender suppose to look milky?Do you spray the blender around the repair area but not on it?
@CromaxEMEA
@CromaxEMEA 3 жыл бұрын
The trick is to not spray the first blending coat to wet or heavy. You are using this to make the blend so spray thin and closed. The blender looks a little milky when wet due to the presence of water.

Hey there great video. So you don’t need to use blender even if there’s some metallic in the formula of a darker colour.? Like Chrysler code pxj for example
@CromaxEMEA
@CromaxEMEA 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, there are a couple of occassions where the use of blender is not recommended. These are with dark colours or where you are trying to keep the repair as small as possible i.e. spot repair.
@randoms71

@@CromaxEMEA are you referring to dark colours in general? Or only dark solid colours with no metallic?

The use of blender is not necessary for darker colours in general as shown here. Thanks for the question.

Can you tell me what the difference is between the WB2091 and the WB2093? And is it ready to use right out of the can?
@CromaxEMEA
@CromaxEMEA 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Both WB2091 and WB2093 are blenders and are to be applied as part of the blending process when using Cromax Pro. The difference between them is that they are adapted to suit different climatic conditions with WB2093 being especially suited to low humidity conditions. Normally this would be in conjunction with high temperatures but low humidity can also occur in cold, dry winter conditions so it's always a good idea to check your climate before making your product choice. If in doubt refer to the TDS and the Climate Guide within.

What's the air pressure on the dark car without blender? 2 bar?
@CromaxEMEA

Never apply base at 2 bar (30psi) Anywhere from 1- 1.5 bar for almost any base coat applications. Around 2 bar for clear coat.

As in a blending job we work outside-in, starting in the widest area, this automatically is light coat applied in an arching mode finalizing in a 1,5 coat.
