Jon Lovett has put into words exactly how I feel. As I watched the numbers keep growing for Joe the lump in my throat kept growing as well. I'm the kind of patriot that still tears up every time I stand at the feet of Lady Liberty (as I call The Statue of Liberty). I was so afraid four more years of Trump. This is more than a good idea - we must find a way to make that part of a mandatory national curriculum. My son has had to learn how to react to a mass shooting since he was in FIRST GRADE. Now in highschool, this is another VERY REAL THREAT that his generation has to learn to navigate skillfully. Susie Eschel, the U.S. has an extremely decentralized educational system. Each state is more or less a country unto itself and each school district has a large degree of autonomy. There is no national curriculum here as there is in Europe. Also, because the Southern states, especially Texas, buys so many of the textbooks, they get to dictate to publishers what information is and isn't included in them, especially history and civics textbooks.

Our high school class of 81 gathered $ for a thank you to a classmate who we were told had worked her ass off for months in Atlanta. We thought we were just sending flowers, but the amount was so large we’re sending cash to the awesome lady who we also discovered is still waiting to see her unemployment come through. @@pakde8002 As of right now (@ 5:30PST), Biden leads in Georgia by over 4.3K votes, and my understanding is that recounts typically net the challenger 1K or fewer votes. Basically, as long as Biden leads by more than 1.1K votes in the certified final totals it is incredibly unlikely that Trump will win a GA recount. Looking at ALL of the other states that will allow a recount, Biden's margins are so great that it makes any potential change mathematically irrelevant. Besides even if, by some unforeseen event, a recount in GA flips the state to Drumpf all that means is Biden will have 290 Electoral Votes instead of 306; Biden would still be President-Elect...

I clipped out the headline, tears rolling down my cheeks, and sent it to my sons, one of whom is gay, but both of whom have been so anxious about this election (they got their Mom's Politic's Fever). Sent it to my best friend, who has held my hand for so long, as we watched Trump dismantle our Government, piece by piece. And sent it to my husband of 37 years, whom I convinced in 2016 to change from being a Republican to be a Democrat because of the threat that Trump presented to us all. Then I just sat here and cried, thankful it was finally over. I know it will take years to fix all he's done, but at least we have a chance. At least we saved our Country. We saved our Country. And thank you to everyone who voted, who helped make this happen. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

I signed up today to the Warnock and Ossoff campaigns. I have been donating money to both, but my volunteering with the HRC, and Vote Common Cause kept me from volunteering before now. VCC met its goal. We tried to peel back 5% of the evangelical vote for Trump, and our efforts worked. Anyway, I am thrilled to hear VSA is adopting Georgia. And Get Mitch is taking money for the two extraordinary gentleman. I think with the recent flip in Georgia, we can win both races, just like I believed we could beat Trump!

Because of you all at crooked media, I was informed, I was inspired, I was comforted, I laughed, I cried, I hoped, but didn’t rely on the polls, I contributed every spare dime to races up and down the ballot all over the country, helped people register to vote, called those people for early voting and asked them to make a plan to vote, bought and wore the merch, got my seventeen year old daughter hooked on the pod and then she stole my merch. You all should be very proud of what you do and how you reach people. It is hard to get people to act on their anger and outrage in a way that impacts our world for good. Did you guys see the last impromptu rally Obama did in Georgia? As he neared the end of his rally he was even choked up. It was so-o-o heartfelt and emotional. He heard Georgians were wavering and felt he needed to make an unscheduled stop. It was his best! I was in tears.
