(Pun intended, LOL) I LOVE this one, I am making several of these in all kinds of colors, first purple for a few friends and then I'm making me a few in brown, black and gray...the three necessary colors! LOL! Thanks again Clare!!! :-)

Hi, you do you row of cross stitch and then when you come to join you join with a slip stich into the beginning chain 3, then you slip stitch in the next stich, chain 3 and then start you cross stitches again... just remember that the cross stitches will be stacked on top of each other as the rows go along :)

TO finish after you complete your last single crochet, chain 1 cut your yarn leaving 2 inches and put your yarn tail though the loop and pull, sew in your ends, if you do not know how to do this search, crochet sew in ends

Hi love your videos, I started with the first part of the round beanie and started to do the cross stitch but it never got an edge or closure, I ended up undoing it and making a regular beanie which I love, but the cross stitch is so pretty
@CrochetwithClare12 жыл бұрын
sometimes the reason for it laying flat is that its too loose, If you use a smaller hook it should make it curl up,
@mikeybean313 жыл бұрын
This is the first of your videos that I watched. I like that you have a model head, that's great. You are very professional, too. The one think I didn't like about the video was that it was hard to understand the part about coming to the end of a row and joining it up to the next one (not even sure if I described it correctly). I'm guessing your beanie basics video would go through it slowly, so I'll have to watch.

Hi, I have some expensive Debbie Bliss Aran yarn (10 ply?) that I don't want to go to waste. I am new to crochet (although have made your earwarmer/headband already and LOVE it) and have no idea how to adjust patterns. What size hook would you advice me to use? Many thanks, Ingrid (UK)

@bobwilson123 Hi, I watch all of your vids, love, love, love your passion, I see it in every vid. I gave up on the hat, it looked horribly wrong so I pulled it apart, I will try again later, I was just so frustrated that it kept looking like a pear-shaped pancake that I took it all apart. I am attempting your Granny on the Straight morbius scarf now though.
@deejbyrd12 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm new to crochet and your tutorial has taught me so much about following a pattern and increasing properly. However, I am in the process of making this hat and it isn't really curling up enough, it just keeps getting to be a larger "frisbee" shape. I've finally just taken to using DC around instead of cross stitch and am going to start decreasing to take it in. I'm using a size J hook and 8 ply yarn. As far as I know my 'tension' is okay. Any ideas?

@bobwilson123 Hey, I've been watching your video on how to make this hat, and my double cross stitch is coming out wavy. I looked at the comments and read your suggestion to move to a smaller hook and I did that (I went to a 4.25mm since it's the closest thing I have to a 4.5mm like you used) and it's still coming out wavy. Do you have any ideas why that is? Thanks!

I love the look of the cross stitch...is there any way to have the whole beanie look like the cross stitch instead of having the crown in double crochet? I want the whole beanie to look like the cross stitch...is it possible? I just don't like the look of the crown being different than the rest of the hat....kinda looks like one of those Jewish hats that men wear. :)
