Thank you so much for this. It took me about a day and a half but I managed to make this hat and as I went through, I started to understand the stitching and altered it for tightness as I went through and I have dreadlocks so made it longer. After that I used your other tutorial and sewed a peak onto it!! AWESOME!

I just made one of these to match the granny on the straight infinity scarf you have a tutorial for. I must say that it is so beautiful and matches very well, I didn't add a border to the bottom to keep the peaks of the shells because it adds to the uniqueness of the hat and makes the shells stand out more. I love it and I hope my grandmother does as well it is a Christmas gift for her:) Thanks so much!

I Love bobwilson123! I have written to her many times and she always writes back! But, I am writing this now because I have made about 20 of these hats for people and they just adore them, and I mean love them! I've been using a clip to attach the flower so that the wearer may put the flower wherever they choose. I just made two for a baby shower, one for the mother-to-be and one for the baby. I can't thank Claire enough for the gift she has given the world! God Bless you!

I know what you mean, I tried to work the round with 2 DC's btwn the shells but it gave me an uneven pattern and I lost track of where the stitches had to be made, so I reworked it with 3DC's btwn the shells and the pattern looks more neat and is forming nicely.

I had noticed the same thing, so I ripped out stitches back to where the hat was as wide as I wanted it, then I started again only I stopped doing the increase stitches and just kept repeating the rounds until the hat was deep as I wanted then I did about 4 rows of single crochet for the band and decreased by about 6 stitches per round.

@shaaban851 I added a anotation yesterday but youtube did post it !!! At 20.30 minutes there is a small mistake :( Im sorry but I didn't make myself clear when to stop increasing. When the piece you are making is big enough(fits the crown of your head) you STOP making the increase in the last stitch before the shell. You need to do a shell into a shell and 1 DC into each DC
