New sub here. Keep up the good work (builds AND video production)... just being yourself, no corny antics, no crazy music, straight to the point, good explanations, etc. Can't wait to see those buggies rip! 🤘

Man you’ve put quite a bit of thought into this build. I’m really impressed 👍🏼

Good vid, I’m currently doing my rear suspension on my dune buggy and I’m using VW axles and hubs and I’m doing double wish bone suspension😬😬😬, keep the good work up though I’ve never thought about plunge!!
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
double A arm is the way to go!
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
Also, VW axles are far better and you likely wont have plunge issues bc both sides float, i believe.
@garageguy51743 жыл бұрын
Yes well the problem is they use cast iron and 1/2in steel and I need to drill 24holes and you can’t just put it in a drill press ether!! Amazons best drill bit set here I come...

Hi very good info but could you add how you did the outer cv stub shaft with the Miata shaft also I like how you are building your parts keep up the cool builds,
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
its a full miata rear axle. Stubs built into the axle. Rzr 800 hub has the same size wheel bearing as the miata
@stevenpleasant58343 жыл бұрын
ok thanks can you send me some pictures of the axle and the outer stub on it and the hub and carrier show what it all looks like please and tanks for your reply and help Steven.
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
just watch the last video or google mista axle
@stevenpleasant58343 жыл бұрын
Hi ok I watched the videos agine and did not see the outer cv that goes thru the carrier and outer hub so you are saying the stock Miata shaft fits the Polaris carrier and the hub fit with out no machine work just bolts up. thanks for you help also some day would like to see you build a 4x4 buggy the way you build would be interesting to see how you would do it. keep up the cool builds.
@rbdesignsnh3 жыл бұрын
@@jimkhana6881 thats good to know. i was planning on using Miata rear hubs. are you then using the miata wheel hub with the rzr800 bearing carrier?
@jasonbirch11823 жыл бұрын
Did you do a roll center calculation at all? It's going to do funky things if the front and rear roll center are far off each other. Check out drive channel and engineering explained for anti squat/anti dive and roll center info(same thing but front to back and side to side).

I second that, don’t cheap-out on suspension. What good is hp of you can’t get it to the ground?

Are there any cheap cv axles from a car that allows for a lot of plunge?
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
not cheap. But youre looking for audi, bmw, VW, porsche 930 axles. Look up lobro style axles. really, you want axles in which you have plunge in both ends, not just one. So anything like that
@maxamps453 жыл бұрын
What rear wheel hub assembly did you use?

Hello! Could you name or possibly provide a link to the rear wheel suspension? (wheel hub and axle) 😁🤗
@bobleaich88993 жыл бұрын
Looks like he's using the same as what I am on my build. I'm using early 90's Mazda Miata axles, bearings, hubs, rotors, and rear knuckles. I've seen a few people using Miata drive parts and Amazon has the parts pretty cheap. Hope this helps.
@danlipperini17393 жыл бұрын
I see that you are using RZR 800 knuckles, but what rear hub? Miata axles to what splined hub?
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
miata hubs. rzr 800 spindles have the same size bearing
