Regarding the boot side panels, don't use mounting screws, use self adhesive Velcro, much neater and will also stop the panels rattling. Also, put some padding/deadening under the plywood, otherwise the sound transfer into the cavity will drive you nuts every time you go over a bump and there is stuff in the boot.

Geoff, when you cut plywood like that, cut the outer veneer with a good sharp knife, use a metal straight edge, you need a lot of force to keep straight edge on the plywood, or simply use your metal brake or similar. BTW a few passes with the knife on both sides will cut the thin plywood through. Leaves the plywood with very little tear-out, if any. Seal the timber with epoxy thinned or epoxy wood preservative.

Awesome design work on the cruise control and the glovebox. Maybe line the glovebox interior with the same stuff you line the boot panels with. It's so fun to watch you adapt to all the challenges this build has thrown at you!

Just get some strong magnets for the side panels You can honestly just use panel bond to hold the magnets on It will be even neater as there will be no screw holes, also means you don’t have to unscrew 2 of the panels if you need to replace your battery

Great video Jeff. I'm wondering if you might regret the way you've covered the battery totally? If (no...."when"!!), you need to access the battery, you're going to have to remove the side wings, then the floor, then the front cover. Would it be possible to make a removable or hinged cover, just for the battery?

That gap by the steering column on the lower dash is for the manual throttle lock. Afro Romeo basically just locked the throttle cable as a cruise control device. One had to remember to disconnect it before shifting because once the clutch was in it redlined the engine. The stock glove box is much larger than what you have designed. Used painter tapesl on your plywood veneer cuts and you won't shatter the edge.

That hole where you are putting the cruise control HAD a cruise control in it originally. Yes a Choke also. Basically the cruise control was a manual throttle control. You pulled it and it had resistance, and obviously did nothing but put a fixed throttle position in, so if having to slow down you had to push it in OR put your foot on the clutch. So putting your new cruise control here is PERFECT - especially modern version of what will really work.

Great job man! The CC controls look absolutely factory! What were your plans for inside the glovebox? Leave it as-is? Or flocking? And inside the boot do you need any vent holes or weep holds in case water gets inside? It looked like you had some room on the sides of the boot between your aluminum panels and the body of the car - maybe put some cool little ‘storage compartments’ with a cool little door, sort of like a glove box for your boot, for small items that belong in the boot, like spare lug nuts, or small tools. This car is simply the coolest car I’ve ever seen, and if I ever get to Aus I’m coming over to see it! Cheers man

WowI had to look it up for myself. That white ferrari picture at the end.I couldn't imagine what that pod was protruding up from the hole in the door just about where the mirror is. Now, I see there's a giant vent that sucks air in and spits it out the back, so there's a gaping hole there, and the mirror is a separate item hung off the side, almost where the door and the window meat. Such an eye trick just for the angle of the picture.Still looks weird.
