I'm an ISFJ and all you said is so true... You're absolutely right, I'm afraid of changes because I don't want to fail. Why am I afraid to fail? Because I'm afraid of pain. Thre's always this scary vision in my mind "me crying alone, thinking about my past and thinking how reckless I was, risking and ruining my life". Yep, the scary vision of Si users... There's always a possibility of failing. Often times I make changes out of fear or when it's the only thing that is left to do. It really sucks. I understand that I need to have faith that I'll be alright. I've had situations when I thought I would never make it and here I am, still alive, motivated to make my life better. Three years ago I made a big decision to change my life. It was SO HARD you cant imagine. I had to leave everything behind and start from the beginning. My rationale was telling me that I need that but I was scared. I was waiting 8 years until I finally made a decision. But now, I'm so happy I decided to change my life. It took 8 years but I did it. And from that day I started doing new things, alone (which is another scary part, doing new things alone). It was very scary and uncomfortable and I often failed. And my twin sister who is also an ISFJ was horrified by my failures and it made her fear taking risks even more. I'm actually ok with failures. It's not that scary. Yea of course I might feel upset and disappointed but then I'll be back to normal. It'snot the end of the world. At least I know. "Ok this approach is not working, next time I should try a different approach". I started analyzing my thoughts and asking myself Socratic questions and looking for proof of my fears and most of the time my fears don't have any evidence. A shout out to all ISFJs - you will feel so confident, so powerful, so free when you try to do what's scary. I know it's hard and I'm not gonna lie, you will fail. You will fail and sometimes you will win. But even if you fail, you will still gain confidence and freedom because at the end it's not about winning, it's about growing and knowing. Knowing what's behind the scenes.

I loved this lecture. I am INTJ, and I am lucky to have perfect parents: an ISFJ mom (loving, caring, nurturing and protecting) and an ISTJ dad (super strict regarding rules, super helpful regarding life experiences and a walking talking facts machine). I call them perfect because they fullfil their traditional duties of being the best parents ever. They have been married and together for over 30 years now. Even though they bicker alot with each other, they complement each other very well. Even though me and my dad are social misfits, my mom always force us both to attend social events "because people expect us to keep our relations healthy". Even though we hate it, we still do that to make her happy. But my parents do have some faults. They both are literally terrified of taking risks, and they are not very supportive in terms of my "imaginary ideas that are just foolish and impractical". But I respect them for shaping this environment where I feel safe and healthy. Thank you so much for making me understand my parents even better than before ❤

Hey Chase, another great video. Thanks. As an INFJ coming from a family of entire sensors (ESFJ-Mom, ISTJ- Step-dad, ISFJ-Grandmother, ESTP-Biological Father), these in-depth type comparisons where you go over Cognitive Functions and Attitudes, Temperaments, Style Interactions, etc. have really provided me with much greater insight into how they personally view and value the world, their beliefs, ideologies, etc. which I thank you for greatly. Given this, have you ever thought about doing a Type Comparison video b/w INFJs and INTJs at all? This comparison (along with xNTPs and xNFPs) have been the most fascinating to me personally. As Ni-doms, we tend to view the world around us in a profoundly different way then most people. I know you tend to define Ni as ‘Willpower/Desire/Passion’/‘Want-y for own Personal Future’/‘Sniper-Rifle like vision’, and there’s definitely truth to that given definition, but there’s more to Ni than just those aspects specifically. In regards to Ni Hero: 1. Given that we have Ne Nemesis, we actually THRIVE on having our own perspectives, ideals, values and ideologies pushed to their absolute limits (hence, why we adore Ne Heroes / ENPs so much...as much as we may secretly disdain them for the very same reason lol). Ne Heroes GATHER & COLLECT as many abstract concepts and ideas from their external environment as possible, BUT Ni Heroes ORGANIZE, SYSTEMATIZE and UNIFY as many of those abstract concepts, and ideas internally in their own minds, finding patterns, connections, and insight within how interrelated those ideas or concepts may or may not actually be. - INTJs in the form of External Systems, Processes, and Creations that they can create from their future-oriented insight and abstractions in concrete reality itself. - INFJs in the form of External values, principles, ethics, and ideals as they relate to helping better improve people as well as humanity as a whole giving their future-oriented insights as they wish to seek to turn them into concrete realities in their external environment. 2. Ni tends to be very “dream-like” and “space-y” in a phenomenological type of aspect. Oftentimes it “appears” as if we are actually experiencing a constant daydream (when using Ni in its full capacity, and not necessarily Se). It’s hard to explain, but it’s in times like these where we become our most abstract, conceptual, and/or philosophical 3. Ni LOATHES the superficial. Seeing things “as they are” or “appear”. As Ni Heroes, we are constantly looking for the deeper more fundamental meaning(s) behind virtually almost everything. Which is often why people may say that we are incredibly slow to react at almost anything and everything if not immediately life threatening, because we take time to assess the situation , let Se show us what’s going on so we can form some sort of general Ni impression about the event taking place and act accordingly. This is also why small talk abhors us immensely. For each type to its respective extroverted judging function (INTJs-Te and INFJs-Fe) 4. What is extremely interesting is how the Hero-Child axis acts in regards to INJs and how each contrasts with each other. As well how each INJ’s internal environment compares and contrasts with their external environment accordingly. - With INTJs: ----- Internal: Ni-Fi axis External: Te-Se axis - With INFJs: ----- Internal: Ni-Ti axis External: Fe-Se axis 5. Our Parent and Trickster Functions though I think is what really helps differentiate us INJs: - INTJ: --- Parent- Te Trickster- Fe - INFJ: --- Parent- Fe Trickster- Te I could keep on going but i’ll end it here. Just some points of interest for you to consider, thanks Chase! Keep the good stuff coming!

I love Si heros too and I tell them the harsh truth and they hate me for it at times but I love them still. That's WHY I tell them the truth: b/c I care and b/c I want them to be happy. The hardest thing for me about ISFJs is their tendency to be the tone police and to not use their logic at times (which I know damn well they have, b/c I've seen them use it). The hardest thing about ISTJs for me is their so-often wasted potential. They are f***ing brilliant and it's like they have no clue they are and so they sit around indulging in gossip and video games and smutty novels. It's super frustrating b/c it's super wasteful. Sad that Si heros live in perpetual fear and it explains a lot. I really love Te parent; whenever I need to know about politics/current affairs/taxes/procedures/medical I ask an ISTJ or an INTJ. I find ISFJs to be very warm and caring (even though they have a real tendency to talk sh** about everyone behind their backs--it doesn't bother me b/c as long it's KEPT behind my back, I don't have to waste time being annoyed or slowed down by it). The other thing is, ISTJs and ISFJs can be really super funny...I think maybe it's b/c they're are SO critical about everyone and everything and my own humor tends toward finding the irony in the many, varied asinine components of life on a daily basis.

Sempre fidelis could be taken to mean ‘always faithful’ particularly in a society that adheres to religiously motivated politics. However, sempre fidelis could also be interpreted as ‘still loyal’ which, is still very applicable and very appropriate for a group who’s main objective should be the defence of their state.

4 years late to comment but this is still super helpful. I thought having an ISTJ direct report woud be the jackpot! But this is a new team, we move at a fast pace, the conscientiousness and detail orientation that I thought would be a huge asset for us are actually not outweighing the lag being created by the ISTJ who is paralyzed by anything new and is always looking for ways to stall via analysis paralysis and more "investigating" :/

I can tell he's judging me all the time. Too bad. He is a person of routine totally. He is a bit too feminine for me as well. Great insight, so I now adjust ME only. However, emotionally mature ISFJs will ask directly what you mean and state that they need to know what you think and what your intentions are because it stresses them out. And if after that, you continue being vague, they will shut the door and never speak with you again because we hate that. This is one of the reasons why we can't find common ground with INTPs... I love those guys but they are so vague... LOL Emotionally unstable ISFJs might beg you for an answer, be passive-aggressive, and depressed. If that's your agenda. If you want them to have a mental breakdown sure go ahead and be vague. What I suggest is, to be honest with them and tell them what you don't like and what you won't tolerate and then leave.

The difference in masculinity between ENTP males and ENTP females is probably among the largest of all types since while undeveloped ENTPs are feminine (though not as feminine as all the other NPs), male ENTPs can become very masculine through subconscious and shadow development, to the point that I'd say ENTPs tied with ESTJs are the most masculine Si users once developed simply because of how the ISFJ subconscious and INTJ shadow works with the ENTP ego.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "same attachment style", but I'll tell you how we usually attack (using Si, Ti Se and Ni). ISFJs gather data and then wait for the right moment to attack. Hi, Chase I am an INFP married to an ISTJ. I love him and he is super caring and loving. His family is a mix of sj's and sp's. But can't get along with his sfj mother and sister. Especially his ISFJ sister. She is the oldest and older than me 10 years. But I am mature for my age and also entered motherhood way before her. But she always telling me things I already know. And it is as though she can't hear me when I say " I know". In essence, she passively acts as superior to me. And when I brought it up to my husband, he said she just cares alot. But I felt that she was being fake nice. Like I couldn't feel it genuinely. And I just felt she was trying to show she is more responsible, or more motherly. Or more whatever. Like one time, she remarked that she feared that my daughter would burn by the stove when we move out into our own house. Like why? She has a mother. Anyways, I can't imagine showing her that I need her. And the other thing, is she never acts vulnerable or just normal. She is always acting perfect. And when she had her first pregnancy, she never once asked me about anything. And sometimes when she needed to, she would ask my husband, to which he would respond " I don't know anything about that, I will ask **** . And then I would give him the answer and he would tell her.

I feel what you mean with fake nice. Some people don't really get this. There is normal/appropriate nice, over the board nice and fake nice in my opinion. Was typed as a ISTJ on your site. Came to see if I could relate to this type on some level. Certain parts of this personality resonate with me and certain parts don't. First off I have terrible memory and Si basically holds reserves of memory. Te and citing your sources which I do agree with, I don't like the spread of misinformation and I hate when people just go spouting some shit they saw in an article somewhere without verifying to see if it's true. I don't however agree with the credentials part. If a homeless man told me the best advice and a billionaire told me that same advice, is the advice any different based on the background of the individual, or do you internalize that advice and how it applies to you? I think the information is more important than who says it to you. Just because that homeless man might not experience success does that make him any less wise? I think people value the status behind the information more than how it's actually applicable to them, they judge others and write them off for their lack of credibility and it honestly pisses me off. Also the part about being patient with people and accepting a relationship where someone would cheat on me. I abhor infidelity whole heartedly and I will eject that person from my life entirely and then make them feel like trash for what they did, not just because my feelings are hurt, but because they need to know that what they did was wrong otherwise they will just do it again to the next kind natured sap they can con in to a vampiric relationship. Plus they confirm my insecurities about them being suspicious in nature and bring my anxieties to life. That kind of vulnerability for someone who doesn't deserve it, and I'm supposed to be hoping these people come back? Not a chance, they're gone. I don't care if they become a better person, that shit is over. Being concrete in my interaction style I can't see either, I know ISTJ are supposed to be sort of abstract to a degree, but my whole life exists around the "what if" scenarios, I also make up analogies and metaphors on a daily basis without even trying. Concrete people are all about the "what is" which a lot of times I can't stand. "It is what it is" No it only is what it is because we allow it to be. The worst one of all is "if you cant beat em, join em." Way to tell everyone you've allowed the world to beat you in to it's mold. This is literally a statement of defeat. A losers way of thinking. You should want to try and change the world rather than just living in it. This is all only based on what I've been learning from what you're teaching here so far, maybe I really am a ISTJ idk. I just have a really hard time believing I am.

I think that Chase is an ENFJ and not an ENTP. Firstly, his motivation for his channel seemed very idealistic and for the bettering of others -NF. And his communication style is very firm and exhibits reliability like a control type. He is also very direct in interaction style with his listeners, as seen by his type comparison of ISTJ v ISFJ. Also he once said that people with a movement interaction style tend to be more “clingy” in relationships because they need progress. His ability to distance his channel largely from his personal life and emotions seems very control type! He also made it clear that he doesn’t care about popularity (which does not suggest a systematic temperament). And is doing this all for his own interest. And his desire to create a community online is very affiliative. - said by an ISTJ :)

Nah Chase had a health scare a while back and along with that he's driven to do this to leave a legacy for his son. Something like that, you'd have to ask Chase to verify for sure

Hello Chase! Curious about the cognitive orbid mentioned at 11:20. Are you explaining the concept more precisely in another one of your lectures?

Bro I have read in one of your replies to a question that you have included a book to read in case we wanted to learn more about attachment interactions. Where is that? It s not in the description right? - Just another ISTJ seeking for validation on things he hears 😅

Is there possibility that INFJ can change to ISFJ or ISTJ? Because before these covid things I usually an INFJ and I feel like I've become different person rn, feeling unmotivated as hell, except doing things to save my beloved person like sterilize everything and ask them to drinks vitamin, live healtily etc. Motivated by fear not by faith, unlike before. So I try the test and the results was ISFJ, the other said that I was ISTJ. And after listening this, I agree when u tell things about both of them, ISFJ and ISTJ, but depends on what situation. For social things I'm more ISFJ, but when I'm working, I'm ISTJ. Is this possible that someone can be like this? Or I'm just being weird? 😅
I know an isfj who went into vices (selling drugs, leading younger drug dealers overseeing underground gambling and prostitution dents), as a result of been betrayed by his parents at 16. Now he is 45, divorcee with 4 kids he don't have custody to and works loyally in a restaurant. Can one trust that a person like that can really abandon their old life?

Hey +C. S. Joseph, I've been really fascinated by jungian analytical psychology lately. It started with the basic dichotomies of the mbti but slowly got more interesting upon learning the cognitive stacks and now slowly the type grid. I appreciate all the effort you have put in considering how useful this information is. I've been binge watching your content but I'm still relatively new. I was curious if I could contact you to see if you could guess my type. Its really bothering me because I've gotten different results from each site. It you're interested, I don't want to give any hints but theres one that I'm pretty sure I am (like 70%) and then two others that are definite maybes. I dont know how you do this or if you have explained it before on your podcast but if you would be willing to talk and solve this with me it would be really cool.

@arande35 жыл бұрын
@@aarondecker7980 hey Aaron, try searching "cognitive functions test" and take two or three of them. They type you by function rather than dichotomy and I found they give me a consistent result even though my functions are way different than a typical person of my type.

Here's a situation I need help with. I have an INFJ friend. She is very credential based and want to know all credentials of all people see meets (which I - infp - don't care about) I told her she can't judge people on credentials, because it fails to prove true to its title. So what I want to know, why would I be against Te credentials as INFP, but it annoys me that she wants to know all credentials or reviews of everything and everyone. If she is INFJ and I'm INFP, why isn't the roles reversed?

Can these two types have anxious attachment style, since you brought that up, over avoidant attachment style?
@elnara14 жыл бұрын
It depends. I have a secure attachment style but if I was in a relationship with avoidant type I’d probably be more fearful avoidant. Si users might have fearful avoidant attachment style because of fear... But not necessarily. Attachment styles form in the childhood (read Bowlby)

They probably secure like most people. I think enps have disorganised, infjs have anxious and intjs have avoidant.

I do not understand how a person external to Chases inner group could justifiably accuse him of fitting the dark triad from simply watching the video lectures, (although I can see how the suspicion could easily arise), as they do not have enough information to go on. If the crux of the argument is that there is financial gain for him, then this may or may not be true. However, I would challenge anyone to run any organisation, charitable or otherwise, without some sort of income in a world based upon commercial viability. I do, however, find it interesting, (and humorous), that ad hominem attacks and labelling are mentioned here. Since, personality typing IS a form of labelling and openly describing types could be interpreted as ad hominem attacks. (Although I would hope a listener is open-minded when investigating a new idea and would not necessarily interpret it as such.)

Why do IJs do this? Everyone is having fun watching baseball and all that then suddenly they will bring up all the traumatic events that happened in their life. Like I'm sorry it happened to you but you just ruined everyone's time. Cherry on top is when things are just depressing, awkward and don't know where to go from there, that's when they will decide to go and have some fun. Like why IJs? Why?

It had to be that you gave them the space unknowingly to be vulnerable, and they thought by doing that, no tension would arise. But when it happened, they left to avoid being a burden.

2 Things I'm finding issue with in this video 1. Sound Quality - Really off for this one, a bit painful to listen to, think a bit component of that is too much peaking of the audio resulting in distortion. Typically from what I've heard from business course sources sound quality is (almost) the most important. Will probably result in more people who happen to watch this video for the without experiencing your content, clicking away from it. Not sure what setup your using apart from a lapel, but you may be able to turn down the mic sensitivity on whatever you're attaching it to. 2. Visuals - No visuals showings the cognitive function stacks, which unless you have them committed to memory perfectly is harder to learn from. (Bad for visual learners like myself who make up 60% of the population. Which that being said I wonder if its worthwhile investing in that component of your videos as a whole could result in a stronger and wider impact of your teaching). Side idea: Perhaps film with yourself to the right half of the frame and then edit a graph or photo of the whiteboard on top of the left half of the frame. Probably a few programs out there that could do that easily. Thanks for your videos btw, really do appreciate them and if I do end up using them in a big way in my life I'll be sure to return the favour. (Just thought I'd appeal to the Ne desire to see other people succeed and reap your own success through that ;) ) - intp :)

I am an INFP, dating an ISFJ and this video is so accurate 😂 we are so different in how we see things and get into misunderstandings because he is forceful and actually believes everything is structural haha. I want to give them hugs too. I love the ISFJ commitment to family and friends, and also how supportive they are- but I find him very masculine compared to my ex INFJ, but also very feminine in that he doesn’t trust anything I say and I have to keep validating him in every possible way! 🫠 Dating a sensor is very stressful for me though…. it’s very difficult to get them to get into a mode of “stoner energy or thinking”- everything is realistic and logical haha! I like how you also mentioned the Avoidant part cause totally true. So funny though, I’m very loyal to SJs. I love them, so hardworking and responsible to those they care about ♥️
