As an ISFJ, Force isn’t my thing. I wouldn’t force anyone to believe what I believe, it’s more so that I want everyone to be open to what I believe and then use their free will to make a decision. I understand that free will is necessary for the authenticity of taking on said beliefs.

Lol, I think he has issues with an ISFJ in his life (his mom), I noticed in all these videos he's proportionally more focused on the negatives for this type. Yes they can remember everything and hold grudges, but they don't consume the entirety of their life like he makes it out to be. He barely touches on the positive contributions they make and seems to define them by their negatives. Also notice how he mocks specific conversations coming from a negative ISFJ experience. Just an observation. I've had positive interactions with ISFJ's and ESFJ's and seen how they handled bad experiences.

This helps a lot for me to understand my ESFJ mother. She controls my life because I refuse to give her gratitude and recognition, which she craves like crazy. This started when I was in grade school. I am now pushing sixty and she still tries to control my life. Now I know that we have twenty plus more years of this love/hate relationship. I’m married to an INTJ for 20 years and I have no interest in making him walk the line’ but NT’s have ways of challenging the social rules that I respect and drive me crazy at the same time. The negative points of SJ’s are spot on in unhealthy ones. It’s weird because I see a lot of people who think their moms are SJ’s which is valid but I think moms easily fit into the SJ profile trying to give kids structure.

My maternal grandmother was an ESFJ and she had Alzheimer's. I miss her. She showed so much love. She was never physically abusive with her children. She loved gossip. She made me laugh because she believed what was written in The National Enquirer. She was very conservative and she would tell me that she believed Oprah and Barack Obama were having a sexual relationship because that is what The National Enquirer mentioned. She wouldn't let me help her clean up. My maternal grandfather was an ESTJ who had Dementia. He was very abusive when angry. He was strict and rigid.

I believe your mom regrets holding grudges. She just doesn't know how to let go of past hurts. She as an ISFJ has high standards and she had too high of a standard for you because you are her son and she believes that traditions and family events are very important. When she sees you being stubborn to go against the family traditions, she thinks you don't love or care about your family. ISFJs will retaliate if they think you are being stubborn, ignorant, or disrespectful. Your mom needs a friend who is an ESFP to help her focus on the present and see what you are doing in the present tense with Se. I think all personalities need to be confronted and helped by a personality whose dominant function is the the extroverted or introverted opposite. ESFPs can help ISFJs and ESTPs can help ISTJs when stressed because each is the other's shadow. ISFPs can help ESFJs when an ESFJ is stressed because when an ESFJ is stressed she or he becomes their shadow function which is an ISFP.

Hi! Your videos are so informative. Been quite addicted to them, actually. I have a question, is it possible to be both ESFJ and ISFJ at the same time? I really believe I'm an ISFJ but I can relate to many of the things you explained about the ESFJ as opposed to ISFJ. Also I kinda think I was an ESFJ before but circumstances caused me to be more jaded and I so relate to the ISFJ in so so many ways. Also, I'm an introvert. I remember you saying in one of your videos that you can't change type and that ambiversion isn't a thing.. so my questions are prolly silly haha but I'm just confused and am hoping for some enlightenment. '16 personalities' is so fascinating to me.. def. helped open my mind and understand that people think differently.

Omg, the grudge fest is real. I have a family member who has help one for 25 years, and it was something stupid. I deal with it by ghosting because I can't stand the passive-aggressive punishment. Although, I'm ISFJ and this person is probably the same, or maybe ESFJ. I don't hold grudges but I have some serious boundaries and door slams if taken advantage.

When I am stressed, I will initiate. My shadow is an ESFJ. I can be taken for granted in my shadow. I hold on to grudges in my shadow. The only way an ISFP holds grudges is when he or she is stressed, angry or repeatedly betrayed or disrespected. You shouldn't be forced to see family members you don't like. Not even my shadow which is ESFJ cares about making sure everyone goes to family gatherings. Being ESFJ in my shadow, I just want to make sure the house is clean for company and clean and decorated for company coming over for the holidays and cooking appetizers for company to eat and having desserts for them to eat.

I thought that introversion and extroversion were on a spectrum and the I or E just determined whether your dominant function is extroverted or introverted. What happens to ambivert people? Can't you be an extrovert with the first function in your stack being introverted and vice versa?

I'm confused. I don't know if I am an esfj or an infj. You said that esfj's are the biggest doormat and are easily taken advantage of and will approach things optimistically on the first time. However, I am very very veryyyyyy easily taken advantage of and I do feel pessimistic towards other people and their intentions but I still continue being a big doormat for them. I don't know if that proves me an infj because I feel like I deserve this treatment which goes back to the fi critic where I literally think I deserve bad treatment. Also, I have always thought of myself as a movement type therefore an esfj but after you explained it in another video I am having second thoughts. I do take my time to do things but at the same time I can get really impatient with progress. I talk fast walk fast and get impatient about things happening. But in my day to day life I really take my time to do things right. I'm confused! Someone please help. Also you said that isfj's keep a record of everything. And it's not so much to use against the person themselves, I think I do it but it's to protect myself, to protect myself from being hurt again or to protect myself from being too trusting. It's not to hurt the other person alot of the times I keep the record all to myself for my own reference.

Forgive me, but, I am not here to impress anyone. SJs treat me with contempt all the time, and most NPs would agree. What's fair is fair. Besides, being an SJ in first world culture gets one an automatic pass, especially if male SJ. Also, is any contempt that I may share in my lectures any less true? Furthermore, if you compare the Who Are the INFJs? lecture you will note many feeling like I was holding them in contempt and yet the ISFJ and/or ESFJ lectures of the same type were not so contemptuous. It is important for you to note that I am balancing out each lecture with a more negative tone or a more positive tone as time goes on to make sure all bases are covered.
