Today we are playing Minecraft on the Hermitcraft 9 server! We continue gathering all the mobs for our museum project, then decide that it's not enough and we need all the Pottery Sherds and Smithing Templates as well! Finally, we get some Armor Trim on our Netherite Gear!

@@cubfan I really don't get your obsession with the fletching table. Arrows are not that hard to get en masse, and I feel like any implementation of the fletching table would make crafting arrows more convoluted than it already is.

@@cassiuspeter9673 i think its because Mojang said they would add functionality to both the smithing table and the fletching table after 1.14. They updated the smithing table twice and not at all for the fletching. And as for use: Tipped arrows, making more arrows per recipe, different types of projectile weaponry and the like.

This update is totally viable to wear the chestpiece constantly because you can right click equip your Elytra, do it shortly before flying and then equip the chestpiece after landing. After doing that several times it just becomes natural.

I just wish Mojang could create a new set of tools and armours on their next update. Dragon bones and scales to upgrade your netherite set, and the wings are attachable to your armour. Maybe include a dragon wing trim as well?

May I suggest another rare mob Varient ? Spiders can spawn with potion effects that last indefinitly (on hard difficulty, which is the difficulty of the server if I'm not mistaken). I thin khaving one of those is a must for the museum, and, while most effect's are basically invisible, invisibility on a spider can be seen (eyes glow) and it'd be amazing for the museum I think, to have an invisible spider !

I love seeing the Hermits going after all the new armor trims, but I also kinda feel bad because Jevin worked so hard to get them all ASAP for the new shop he made, and it looks like he's already gonna be out of business 😐 Everyone's going out to get their own trims and False made her free/trade shop... Poor Jevin lol 😔

I think the trim shop was a great idea whether people explore themselves or not. It looks cool and livens up the area, really fits in where he put it. And people like Keralis for example might be more interested in just ordering armor.

I could see that happening if he builds some sort of bunker basement a dozen or so blocks below the museum with a minecart ride that you can board in that basement which takes you down into a deeper bunker a few dozen blocks below that where you drive past a diorama of the king's vault with the warden inside it. Like there would be a huge open space down there with a big enough gap between the minecart track's ledge and the exhibit that the warden can't shoot you (or it at least can't get a shot off before the cart takes you back out of range).

The funny thing is Cub has grinded so much over the years that he has learned how to cut down on his grinding significantly. For example in this video, he knows where to look for Ancient Cities and that saves a ton of time.

There’s all sorts of fun little mob interactions that I wish were part of vanilla Minecraft. Imagine if a charged creeper could de-oxidize copper blocks by walking on them, or if Strays gained a speed boost during snowstorms

Other cool mobs you could add to the museum is Grian's donk and pearl's Ey, the donkey duo that never got united. Edit: do you have the BDubs mossy cloak without the hoodie head?

I know it's not rare but with all the trouble and deaths they caused in the early game I feel like adding a trident weilding drowned as a historic mob would be fun. Settling by a river did cause some problems.

i think for trimming the elytra, instead of giving a special design like the capes for the elytra, it could change the shape. Might make some interesting designs using a mix between the capes and the shapes. only downside is I don't know if the shapes would have a decent match with the armour trim, it might have to be a separate item... which just adds to inventory clutter

I really appreciate the advice for finding ancient cities! i had no idea they weren't as rare as I thought. also found a jungle biome with a sheer cliff like at 33:05, dug down and mined 200 blocks each direction but it was only deep dark and no city unfortunately :/

i reckon itd be worth it to breed the screaming goat; seperating screamers from the normal; and getting a bunch of all different horns could sell them at a gift shop or something; or itd just be nice to have horns if no one else on the server has a bunch. theyre not particularly hard to get; the hardest part usually is getting one screaming goat; after that its a high chance to breed into another and 2 screamers gives a screamer child all the time i think i just like goat horns though as for elytra trims; i have no idea how theyd work with it with capes existing too i feel like it could look really weird if they just applied trims over capes; but if trims didnt apply to cape wings itd kind of blow major league cause i guess just having it apply over capes would make the most sense but it still feels a tad inelegant to me

Ok, I'm gonna disagree with you Cub on the topic of Trim on Elytra... I say NAY! and instead posit a better alternative... In game rare loot "Cape Patterns". So those who didn't go to a minecon or got the migration cape, or any other promotional/employee capes... it would be really cool to have some in game capes you can obtain in many ways. I would say Archeology for sure, exploration, rare/boss mob rare drop, bartering, trading... etc etc... now if cape patterns is a bit too far out there, then how about "Elytra Patterns" so you could customize your wings via some in game method besides the basic look/capes (while I'm happy with the migration cape as I finally have a cape, it's so boring and numerous out there and some customization would be great!. (Of course also without needing to use some VanillaTweaks data packs to change the elytra to vex or dragon wings.)

I found 2 ward and 1 silence trims, plus 3 otherside discs in my first ancient city of my 1.20 playthrough seed. I was pretty happy about it and i haven't even finished exploring it yet. Fortunately its only 400 blocks from spawn. I got 4 enchanted apples in 1 chest!

A cool game or shop could be made for the suspicious gravel, like you could make a digging site and the hermits could use a brush to dig resources from them, your own custom digging minigame to get free junk, i dunno if someone would charge a diamond for the stuff it gives, but could be simple fun.

I’ve learned how to break the chests and run but the warden arrival still makes my heart skip a few beats. I got silence in the second city I visited, but ward took 3 more. I got a few enchanted golden apples to replace those I used, though. But those excavation sites are addictive. I spent way too long on a couple of them.

Yeah. Maybe someday they'd figure out a way that could be done, but right now it does feel like the ability to put trims on elytra would mean you basically have to choose between trim or cape.

there are some Wardens of note on HC Allan, the Warden of Scarland, the Warden at the bottom of the King's Crastle, and the Warden at the bottom of Bdubs / Etho's tower

I had hoped you could make a Sniffer farm using mud blocks and hoppers, but I didn't have any luck getting the Sniffer to dig seeds in an 8x8 plot. Not sure if it's because they're player placed blocks, or only 1 block deep? Oh well, Plan B it is. A farm using a pair of Allay to collect the seeds.

They aren't going to add elytra trims, because 1. They are armor trims and elytra are not armor, and 2. They have said capes will continue to be exclusive.
