The cucumber originates from India , traced to the Indus civilization, it was exported to Egypt with many other Indian vegetables & to England each place , it adapted & the English cucumber is thinner & longer. Any cucumber Indian or otherwise - ends cut & rubbed together ( ends to main body eventually u get a slimy substance comming out thick whitish in colour) this slimy stuff is da bitterness , to remove the peel of the English cucumber is a personal option but da short fat type definitely take the peel off.
