Although I loved seeing bears in a swimming pool, what I love most of all about this story is the attitude of the homeowners. Not trying to feed them, not trying to become friends with them - just letting them be, and sharing space with them. We've taken over so much of their homeland; why can't they visit ours? So much conflict with wildlife is the fault of humans. This is a wonderful example of how we can all behave responsibly and ethically with animals. Beautiful.

We live right next to the Smoky Mtns national park, and with us it's the black bears, and they do the exact same thing. They love to swim in our pool during the evening or early morning, for ~30 minutes, and they would be on their way. The only real issue is at first they would destroy anything made of fabric, so we started locking all that up in the pool house when we weren't out there, but I do leave some cheap volleyballs and beach balls for them to play with. Oh, and we do get a lot of fur in the pool screens and filters, so those are cleaned out more often, which is no big deal.

And every time I was among them when they didn't panic and run away, my spirit just swelled with the sense of what an honor and privilege it was to be alive and share this planet with such gentle, graceful, unassuming and peaceful creatures. @Vixx89Ай бұрын
Assholes for chasing them off? Do you know anything about bears? They’ll kill you. They seen tame and sweet in this video because they know they have nothing to fear, and a fearless bear is a deadly one to humans. If you don’t chase them off they’ll become extremely comfortable and less fearful and the usual tactics people use to ward them off won’t work. We are food to them, they’ll even kill you if they’re not hungry just for the hell of it. No, they shouldn’t be shot and killed as those homes were built in their living area, however you don’t share your personal space with them and act as if they’ll never attack, and should they decide to, that little glass door won’t hold them back.
@mingiinimene333521 күн бұрын
Chasing them off might be the safest option. If you have kids this is not safe. This is not safe anyway. Those animals can kill you so chasing them away is the safest option for the survival of both. You really don't want bears to get too comfortable in your territory where you and your family live. I mean the video is cute but I don't think it is wise to do this.

This is so wonderful thank you so much for your kindness and consideration towards these magnificent animals, they adore your pool area and obviously feel safe and you get to be part of that, a win-win situation. 💕💙

Ricardo and Brian! What a wonderful experience this must be for you guys! I would've been a bit scared to begin with, too. But seeing Maddie and her cubs antics up close must be so amazing. Like one of you said, a real 'privilege'. Thanks for sharing! ❤ from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
