Sadly no, I live in the UK where there unfortunately aren't any bears or even wolves, although we do have foxes 🦊❤️💖💖. My mother in particular would love seeing bears in the garden/backyard (all my family love bears but she is a very big bear lover) like this 🐻❤️💖💖

Although I loved seeing bears in a swimming pool, what I love most of all about this story is the attitude of the homeowners. Not trying to feed them, not trying to become friends with them - just letting them be, and sharing space with them. We've taken over so much of their homeland; why can't they visit ours? So much conflict with wildlife is the fault of humans. This is a wonderful example of how we can all behave responsibly and ethically with animals. Beautiful.

I would not be surprised if one of the residents of the house gets mauled by a bear coming home one night and then get other bears killed for it. We live right next to the Smoky Mtns national park, and with us it's the black bears, and they do the exact same thing. They love to swim in our pool during the evening or early morning, for ~30 minutes, and they would be on their way. The only real issue is at first they would destroy anything made of fabric, so we started locking all that up in the pool house when we weren't out there, but I do leave some cheap volleyballs and beach balls for them to play with. Oh, and we do get a lot of fur in the pool screens and filters, so those are cleaned out more often, which is no big deal.

Amen. I used to live next to a long, narrow nature preserve flanking a broad stream in an otherwise highly developed area of Fairfax County, VA. There were about 2 dozen deer who made their home base there in an old-growth forested wetland and I used to visit them (slowly, slowly, quietly, quietly) several times a week for years. And every time I was among them when they didn't panic and run away, my spirit just swelled with the sense of what an honor and privilege it was to be alive and share this planet with such gentle, graceful, unassuming and peaceful creatures. Honestly, it's making me cry now, just remembering them. 🦌

Its wonderful that they're so welcoming to the animals who were there first. We took over their land so this is a lovely compromise and the least we could do for them ❤

I love this. I live in an apartment in NYC, so welcoming bear families is not in the cards. I see where it might seem to have drawbacks, but I envy you. What a privilege to run the most loved bear spa in the neighborhood.

That's SO cool. I love that you let the bears enjoy the pool - even with fun pool toys! I just adored the part where one of the bears hops onto the big round colourful floaty thing then just pushes out into the pool like it's the most natural thing in the world, lol😊 it's good that you keep your doors & windows closed so there's no unwanted type of attention from the bears, they're just hanging about in their local neighbourhood, swimming in their fave local waterhole where the humans are really nice - always leave fun water toys and floaty devices, let us be so we can swim to our heart's delight. They even keep the water lovely and clean all the time! HAPPY BEARS 🐻 🐾🥰✌🏽👍🌺🌲🌻🌳🌼🌴🌷🌵🪻🌾⚘️🌿🌱🍀🪴🥀🏵🌹💮🪷🌸🦠💐🪺🍃🍂🍁💧✨️👙🩱☮️⚓️🛟⛵️🌟🐻🐾🐨🐾🐻‍❄️🐾😍🥰😘💝💖💗💓❤️❣️💕💞🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎💦💫🤍🩶🖤❤🎉❤🎉😅

Assholes for chasing them off? Do you know anything about bears? They’ll kill you. They seen tame and sweet in this video because they know they have nothing to fear, and a fearless bear is a deadly one to humans. If you don’t chase them off they’ll become extremely comfortable and less fearful and the usual tactics people use to ward them off won’t work. We are food to them, they’ll even kill you if they’re not hungry just for the hell of it. No, they shouldn’t be shot and killed as those homes were built in their living area, however you don’t share your personal space with them and act as if they’ll never attack, and should they decide to, that little glass door won’t hold them back.

Chasing them off might be the safest option. If you have kids this is not safe. This is not safe anyway. Those animals can kill you so chasing them away is the safest option for the survival of both. You really don't want bears to get too comfortable in your territory where you and your family live. I mean the video is cute but I don't think it is wise to do this.

Why would it be wrong to chase them off? 😅 This isn't normal. Nor is it wise in my opinion. They need a tall fence.
