But i think thats also what the show was going for, none of the characters are perfect or right, and they make realistic decisions that flawed people would make. if cuddy and house were perfect people who always made the right choices, the show would be boring. cuddy did do a selfish thing not considering how house would be affected in the long term by their relationship when it started, but thats okay.

As most of the comments are saying, I always hated Cuddy for this. She knew who House was, she said she didn't want him to change, and he actually even did for her. He literally told her that being with her is worth it, even if it makes him a worse doctor. The only thing he really did was freak out when he thought she was going to die, which honestly just shows how much he cared about her. Then ultimately, what made this even worse, is after the break up, Cuddy just started toying with House, and treating him like she had done before they were together, which was not okay.

Did you all know that this show is essentially a medical drama equivalent of Sherlock Holmes? Even the names of the main protagonists are inspired: Holmes -> Home -> House John Watson -> James Wilson (I'm not too sure about this one, but) Lestrade -> Lisa Cuddy Additional similarities: House sees what no one else sees, takes the cases no one else takes and is a drug addict. Wilson is House's only friend and is the only person who can continuously tolerate House's behaviour. I don't know how, or if, Cuddy has similarities to Lestrade but there you go.

This is some dogshit writing. The relationship wasn't too forced but the breakup definately was. Cuddy knew House wayy back, she doesn't need a tipoff that he's generally unreliable. Plus the point off House is that he's unreliable until he cares then he becomes supernatural, and he definately cares about cuddy, none of this makes any sense in the context of the first 6 seasons.
@jaccat4336 Жыл бұрын
Sorry I’m late but the explanation is pretty disappointing. It feels forced because it was. The actress playing Cuddy wanted more money, the show creators said no so she quit. With the actress leaving suddenly they created this forced breakup to explain Cuddy not being in the next season. Looking back they probably should’ve just given in and paid her or ended the show a season earlier on a high note (last season wasn’t very good anyway). It ruined 6 seasons of relationship build up. Hate it when outside forces affect the original storyline.

I really don’t like the amount of people blaming Cuddy. No one owes anyone a relationship and it isn’t any individual’s responsibility with how their ex or perused reacts when rejected. I don’t think Cuddy was trying to jerk House around. I think she naively believed he had matured so quickly and was disappointed when House hadn’t. And I don’t believe that it’s necessarily House’s fault that as an addict to have relapsed in a stressful situation; I do believe House is responsible for his own actions and mistakes. While I think Cuddy should have been prepared for an inevitable relapse (most addicts relapse within the first year of being sober), I understand Cuddy not wanting to feel responsible for House’s mental health. She can’t live in constant fear that the moment anything out of her control happens to her she will have to pick up the pieces. She needed House in that moment and he wasn’t there: that was a deal breaker for Cuddy. And that may not be a deal breaker for me and most the people in this comment section: we are not her nor anyone else similar to Cuddy. It’s morally worse to force her into a relationship she doesn’t want to be in anymore. And yes, she is allowed to change her mind on House.

This comment section is terrible, literally the definition of victim blaming. Cuddy strated dating the guy who even tried to become sober, the guy who said it was worth it to be a worse doctor, but turns out house didn't desire to be better, just wanted Cuddy near him. The second cuddy realized that she cannot trust him just like before they started dating, she wanted out. She never dated a man who wanted to do better. Cuddy is not innocent, but she's definitely not a horrible person for falling in love with house and the chosing to not stay with someone so unreliable.

I always hated Cuddy...even more so after she broke up with House. She really was an idiot, she set unrealistic expectations and then got upset when he didn't reach them.
