The key component to all cultish religion is _faith._ We're all meant to think it's a wonderful, positive thing, but it has caused more misery and death than any other psychological mechanism in all of human history; whether it's faith in the "science" of Karl Marx, faith in the Word of God, the miracles of Christ or the notion that Mohammed is the Last and True Prophet. Faith demands that people _just believe,_ and ignore their better judgement, evidence, and their own interests. Faith makes good people do bad things and transforms bad people into Gods. Same. I must be shallow or something. Never got into drugs nor drinking and when people tried this type of nonsense I would walk away. Same with school cliques. Even visited different religious groups and just could not conform. I believe its mainly weak insecure people looking to fit in. And preditors spot them a block away. I feel bad for them but they are also responsible for their own actions.

Exactly. I think any cult-like organisation has a knack for attracting and manipulating people who have personal issues or are vulnerable in some way. I felt I had a mutual connection with someone, but it was unrequited love. Seeking answers, I fell down the rabbit hole for a bit… nothing serious, just spending a lot of time watching videos on Twin Flames. Unfortunately, what I really needed was just closure. Sometimes we have to accept we don’t get it. I admit, I’m lonely and had a rough childhood. Who doesn’t wanna be loved?! The whole money aspect blows my mind though. But the brain chemistry involved when in love is nuts… akin to drug addiction. Emotions are powerful. Logic and reason can go out the window. So I can see how people can get sucked in. I genuinely fell for that person. I think I will always care for them. But I was just being led on. Typical empath / narcissist dynamic. I had a lot of past trauma to work through and heal. On the plus side, I will never fall victim to such things again. Life is a continual learning curve! Apologies for the long post. I just really resonated with what you said. It was spot on. X

the chaser and runner part makes no sense if you really are "twin flames", they try to force the hell out of things that should happen naturally...
@Thankgot Жыл бұрын
Exactly, why would a twin flame get a harassment order ? Bizzare
@hevoskuiskaaja2008 Жыл бұрын
The chase-runner dynamic is quite complicated as there are a lot of different factors, for example you come across your twin and they are in a relationship/marriage with someone else (sometimes karmic soul contracts where the twin has to learn a lesson and they will not get out unless they have learn the lesson), if you then try to connect with them in any way they will push you away or disconnect otherwise. Here is the difference to what Jeff/Shaleila are teaching, they say fvck it go after them no matter what. A real twin stops chasing if this is happening and is taking care of their own business when the runner runs. As a result the runner stops running at one point because there is no pressure anymore.
@alandagray7937 Жыл бұрын
@@hevoskuiskaaja2008yep. Thank you. You are supposed to focus on yourself and then the runner will come back after learning their lesson. The chaser is typically a catalyst for their awakening. I never would have believed any of this until I had an experience that is unexplainable to just anyone...or they would think you're crazy. But I have always had very spiritual experiences.

There was a drug rehab cult in my locality way back when called Sinanon. One of the members went on to found Delancy street in San Francisco (a well known drug treatment organization). The cult allegedly forced members into unwanted relationships, had a group of cultists use violence to enforce its rules and even attempted murder against their former cult member/ lawyer with a venomous snake in his mailbox

The ending sentences of this were some of the clearest thoughts on how people manipulate that I’ve ever heard. His use of people’s shame against them and for himself (whilst of course dressing that process up as something else by using quasi-spiritual language). Brilliant. But i know folks who don’t run cults, but who still use people’s shame and fears to get them to do things. This explains how people get into these cults. They're not stupid people. Just lonely and perhaps full of fears and insecurities-and a master manipulator of these natural human traits hooks them in by using hope of relief of those pains. It explains why financially and otherwise successful people also join- it’s because you can be outwardly successful and even run companies or be a model, yet have those unhealed inner wounds. And those wounds are very painful and never heal from outside success. So many successful ‘ people are in constant pain. They're thus fodder for creeps who have insight into using their sorrows against them. We all know the perfect example of one such cruel puppet master- Charles Manson, Thanks very much

Big shout out to the extremely brave Ex Twin Flame members who are speaking up against Jeff & Shaleia and their destructive practices in the Netflix documentary! Coming from a very vulnerable state, not trusting themselves and rather listening to these obscure teachings to developing enough courage to speak their truth, to break free and challenge this former authority ruling their lives... I can't imagine how difficult that must have been and I have so much respect for them. To us, all of this may seem comical and easy to see through - I think when you are trapped in that sort of cult and see it as your only home, your only support, your only family - it must be so different.

As a spiritual person I want to explain something. When people go through an awakening it's a confusing time because you are experiencing many things you don't understand. I went through my awakening a few years ago and while learning about spirituality I came across the term 'twin flames'.. over time I realized that basically everyone I've seen who uses the term, doesn't understand it correctly. One of the original examples of 'twin flame' is used to describe ONE soul that has been torn apart. This is the reason you're apparently drawn to this other person is because they're YOU in another body and unless you're both healed, you repel each other. Now, this is what my basic understanding of the connection is.. I don't believe anyone can fully tell you how such a connection works unless they're actually in one so this is where the delusion starts. This term is HEAVILY ROMANTICIZED now and used by people wanting make sense of their chaotic relationships. What people need to learn is that spirituality isn't about becoming obsessed with another person, it's about growing as an individual and doing the hard work on yourself to evolve to help humanity. Yet, what we're left with is people claiming they have all the answers and making spirituality look phony. For this reason it's really hard to see people who claim to be spiritual, lying to make money and spread the delusion.

The therapy setting would be very easy to manipulate in that direction with very little supervision or official intervention. Reporting a therapist for being a cult leader will not result in any action against their license.

Thank you for covering this! I came across Jeff and Shaleia several years ago and caught on real quick that what they were teaching had very little to do with the twin flame ideology. These two are grifters. Also, Shaleia used to read tarot and was significantly thinner, once she met up with Jeff A LOT changed in her, mind you, she was already kinda weird but she really worsened. They also wrote a book that was truly awful. I really feel for their victims especially the 19 year they pushed to be with a criminal.

Very glad you did an episode about this. I've been participating with various topics on Quora, and somehow got plugged into the "twin flame" Q&A stream. OMG, the range of delusional TF fanatics, with their often emotional desperation to belong to something "important" is intriguing, but also very sad. These are mostly young people (teenagers to mid 20s), but sometimes older people (mostly women) who have been sucked into this vortex, clinging like barnacles to a rock, with their tf related dramas, often worried and panicking about their supposed tf partner not responding the way they're "supposed" to and so on.

Well, five hit points awarded for not changing her name to Shalia Schabusiness...I guess the name was taken. I think what we're looking at here is a phenomenon familiar to popular culture, people inventing new religion and spiritual trademarked brand that will shorten the get rich process. I've personally known couples very similar to this one. Some benign and even helpful (artist communities), but there usually seems to be some egotist, notoriety dependency.
