I like how far the tranny/t-case will sit up in there. On the jeeps the mount sits level with the frame and bolts to the cross member and yours looks to be about 5-7 inches higher in the frame so more out of the way

Hey bud I used to use a similar set up to lower engines in. Eventually I made a set of forks that had the cherry picker attached directly to them. It made lowering in old BB's a snap. It was also extremely convenient and safer when working alone. You definitely have the skills to Fab one up yourself.

A note on the adapter shaft between the transfer box and the gearbox. On newer Defenders, they have a similar adapter between the Ford / Getrag gearbox and the LT230 and it has a lot of problems fretting, wearing then failing at inopportune moments. That leaves you with no drive at all. The cheap fix is lots of grease, Ashcroft transmissions do an improved one. Just something to be aware of seeing as you're doing a similar thing here.

One of my exes had no problem getting dirty with me...literally and figuratively...one night I fell asleep under my Nova and woke up with a warm feeling on my nether region and had to think for a minute about having that feeling in the shop! Then I realized that Min was in the shop working with me...before that realization, I was wondering which guy in the shop was I was going to have an awkward conversation with...lol...once things became clear, I almost did a somersault due to two of my favorites coming together, so to speak...most guys would love this situation...I know I did...I just realized that this little story sounds a lot like a tale that would show up in "Penthouse Letters"...lol...if they still exist...I'm not really sure as I haven't bought any magazines in around 20 years...what do y'all think?

Awesome man had a new 02 disco SE with 18 inch wheels full pushbar and grill package black on tan..it sat in the garage w a cover until 04 the. When I moved to Florida and drove it 22k miles in one year..it ran like a G but all the electrical interior bits just started taking a shit so aggravating..when I didn’t drive it it was amazing lol soon as I used it the English electronics failed like a sunuva 🐝..I had a beautiful setup attached to a new black and chrome single turbo Polaris MSX..got it to 185hp which was fucking meteoric levels in 04..good times man thank u for the memories man I miss my dad :(

Since you guys use the forklift a lot to remove and insert engines. Heres a tip that my shop did. Drill a hole that's fits like a 3/4 tow ball. That way if anything slips forward, it has a stop. Better than a c clamp

disco and defender chassis are different depths , ive put a few defender truck cabs onto disco chassis , thats the bit to watch out for when moving outriggers etc
