Why are people complaining about the difficulty? There is no gameover you can try every boss and level over and over again. Yes it's tricky but the game allows you to learn. Classic games like Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Megaman or Ghoulsn Ghosts did not. If you failed to often "well sucks to be you, go back to the start and play it all over again" .. and when you finally got back to the boss that killed you you probarbly had forgotten what had killed you and you die again at the same position. Imagine you want to learn playing the guitarre "Oh, you failed at these notes 3 times? Well go back to page 1" Would you accept that? Me neither. Thats why Cuphead is doing it right.

Yep, I'm with you on this. People yell that its hard just because it looks cartoony and innocent and doesn't let them steamroll everything right out the door. You are supposed to put in the hours of practice just like any other game. Once you learn the damn game, you can truly articulate where the actual difficulty lies, which is a small portion of the game in all honesty. I don't get it because people will go put in 200 hours on battlefront and destiny like its nothing when cuphead requires less than 20th of that to become competent.

Have to be that guy. Ninja Gaiden has infinite continues, Megaman has passcodes, ghouls n ghosts has infinite replays. So actually they are pretty similar to cuphead. Short length and difficult game play that forces you to repeat sections a lot.

I’m just glad they didn’t slap a $60 price tag on it thinking it was worth that much. I would of easily payed 40 dollars just by looking at the amount of work and effort they put in this game something you hardly see in today's market with all the early access bull shit and locked content in the form of DLC (destiny 2,CoD,BF1,MVCI) and now PTW for Battlefront 2.. me and my friends haven't had this much rage and salt since our contra days its fun as hell and really shits on most of the AAA titles and upcoming ones by a land slide i just hope this company doesn't turn its back on the players later down the line.

The art is nothing short of fantastic, the music is so catchy and historically faithful, and most importantly... the gameplay is FUN and CHALLENGING. This game is a breath of fresh air. AAA gaming is in a terrible state imo, lacking in creativity and/or innovation in a severe way, only looking ways to further monetize a game in cash grab ways from the consumers who buy the game. meanwhile the indie/AA developers are making fantastic games full of innovation and/or creativity and without the need to further monetize in cash grab methods. I seriously think a AAA gaming industry crash is coming, and the AAA publishers/developers are going to look at what the indie/AA market has been doing and then mimic the indie/AA market to prevent themselves for going out of business. I feel these indie/aa developers/publishers are the future of gaming, they are leading the way to what gaming will be like once the AAA market crashes.

My largest gripe with this game was not even with the game itself, it’s with Microsoft, for not seeing this game for what a great product it was, and for not advertising it more. They didn’t have much confidence in it, unlike the developers who made this. The developers clearly put a lot of style and time into making this, seeing as it took them multiple years, but the end result was worth the wait. The good thing is, the community recognized this game for what is as, and all the talking about it gave it the boost in popularity it needed, and I’m sure the developers now have enough money for another new franchise or even DLC. Speaking of DLC, I think this game has earned the right to push out DLC. The base game has enough content, and any DLC bosses are welcome, as long as they bring new elements to the game, such as a tank mode or something.

I don't know how much time it can take to make the concept, presentation, music, characters, story, chalenges, and so on. However, about coding it, I guess 1 person can make it in less than 1 year, using just a 2D library (not even an engine) and a mid-level language, like C++, Pascal, BASIC. It's an easy game to code, which means harder than most non-game apps.

Sorry, but I can't forsee mods for this, it's all hand drawn cell animation, not 3D models and takes an enormous amount of time to make just a few seconds of animation.
