Thanks for another interesting video;) I only use fresh turmeric, in a homemade ginger tea about twice a week. Is that quantity and the fact that it's fresh, enough to gain benefits? Should I have it daily for instance or rather go for supplements? Thanks

Dr Ruscio thanks for your videos they have really helped with my problem. I have problems with bloating and gut pain that triggers ectopic beats and sometimes AFIB which has got worse after too long on restricted diets(fodmap/carnivore), I have in the last week added more foods and spices and seen some improvement , have you done any work on gastrocardiac syndrome ? if not could you look at this it would be great to hear your opinion.

Super information! Thanks. It was interesting about it being as good as omeprazole in the trial because I will try it as soon as I get off that med. I am on ketovore but I get dry eye too. I have acid reflux so I just sprinkled some turmeric from a spice jar into my electrolyte drink. Going in for an endoscopy tho :)

I cook with curcumin and turmeric. And didn’t really know the health benefits of these. I only get low to moderate doses. Good gut health can also come from fermented vegetables ie such as sauerkraut and pickles. Just my opinion. Thanks for the video.

If I prefer to take turmeric rather than the curcumin isolate, what dosage would you recommend for gut health (leeky gut)? I put the powdered form in my smoothies.

I stopped turmeric a # of years back because I found it made my stomach feel unsettled but have recently started again using a different product called Theracurmin by Natural Factors. Dr Ruscio, I’m confused because Natural Factors’ Theracurmin recommends only 30-60mg/day (equivalent to 1-2 capsules). Do you think this is adequate based on the information you’ve provided? I deal with anxiety, had leaky gut 4 years ago and have currently begun experiencing resolution of pelvic pain following a laparoscopic appendectomy 14 months ago which I believe Theracurmin and Acupuncture may be positively assisting with. Thank you in advance for any thoughts you may offer 🙏

IF you get very dry eyes, laughing all day long for no reason, overstimulation from Quercetin, Curcumin, Turmeric, Ginger, You may have a Slow MAO Gene like me. I have to avoid it along with lots of methylated protien due to Overmethylation. Willow bark seems to be better for me along with antinflamatory high dose Niacinamide, Benfotiamin, Fish oil and A good seeking health Multivitamin.

This came across my mind, it seems like vitamin supplements have not been around a long time. Would there be any negative side effects or damage caused by taking vitamins long term? Or do we simply not know because vitamin supplements have not been around that long...

Its scary iron lowering effects make me skeptical of using turmeric. It can also be detrimental to anyone who has digestive issues that is already having trouble absorbing nutrients since it might be chelating more iron from their bodies 🙏❤️

Turmeric is a problem, curcumin is not. Turmeric, with the active ingredient curcumin, has a relatively high content of oxalate, estimated at 1969 mg oxalate per 100 grams of turmeric. Curcumin has good data that it chelates and/or blocks iron absorbtion. So depending on iron status it can be beneficial or detrimental.
@ColorCodedColonCures

Yes very true it’s like a double edged sword ! I didn’t know curcumin chelates iron I thought it was just turmeric all together. I thought pure extracted curcumin supplements were better to take 🤔 I guess not 🙏

@@Sourpusscandy Nobody said to ingest 100g of tormeric at a time, but taking 10g/day would add up pretty fast for people with oxalate problems. You're a silly person :))
