I can attest that fenugreek has been doing amazing as a hair strengthening and growth product for me. I make a mask out of it using aloe vera, ground fenugreek powder, and honey. I blend this and apply under a plastic cap that I tie down under a towel and leave on for 30 minutes to an hour. Then I rinse out and condition my hair. It stopped my hair breakage from the root, and softened my hair while elongating my curl pattern. My hair has been growing like crazy because it stopped all my breakage/shedding. Great video.

I have wavy-to-curly mid-back length hair. I had a copper IUD a few years ago which wreaked havoc on my health and on my hair. I've been rehabilitating it with leave-in fenugreek water/gel, which I also DIY. I mix it with rosemary water and a splash of natural apple cider vinegar. It does not spoil if you use approx. 1 part ACV and 5 parts fenugreek water. I let the seeds soak for a few days (make sure there's some vinegar in the soak, so it doesn't sour) and once they're large and soft, I force the gel through a wire strainer and collect it to add to my infusion. I use (about one ounce poured onto my scalp, 2-3x per shower) it in place of shampoo and conditioner, and I also put it into a spray bottle and spray generously into my hair once damp, but still wet and clean. It's kind of labor intensive but my hair is so much nicer.

Wait back up, I said I have seen no change. That is not true. I have not seen any drastic hair growth but my hair is not as dry. It stays pretty moist until wash day. I comb out every night. Since starting the fenugreek oil, my hair is shiny everyday and very easy to comb out at night with a very minimum amount of shedding. As always very informative. I love fenugreek. Been using for 2 years now in my diy ayurverdic blend hair oil ( Thanks to Curly Proverbz she'struly the OG in Ayurverdic hair care). As with all proteins, it makes me nervous because I'm Low porosity and have yet to try in a mask. I will say this i never strain my oil. I just wait till its all gone, then blend the left overs ( i mix with a cocktail of ayurverdic herbs like amla, brahmi, shikakai aloe powder and others plus all the essential oils that we all use peppermint, rosemary, ginger, eculpytus). Thank you for the chemist break down on why fenugreek is OG in ayurverdic herbs for hair growth. I hear drinking the tea also has major effects on the hair and skin.

I've been using fenugreek for a little more than 2 years. I take about 1/4 cup of Methi seeds, a few sprigs of fresh rosemary, olive oil and avocado oil and let them sit overnight in my slow cooker on warm. I strain the infused oil and use it as my leave-in oil. Works great. Thanks for another great vid. I look forward to them every Friday.

I use them together to make a prepoo treatment as well as a whipped butter. I take both and infuse them into hot water, and add whatever other ingredients you want and I leave it overnight. It really has amazing slip and it strengthens and moisturizes it and preps it for wash day.

Amazing! All Ayurveda is trending especially henna, Alma, and hibiscus. I’d love to hear your take on these. Also, for those of us who like DIY, how many herbs should we be blending? I see so many DIY videos where they’re blending 5-6 Ayurvedic herbs and essential oils. Can too many cause them to counteract each other? Which ones blend together the best from a chemist’s POV? Do DIY masks, oils, etc need to be ph balanced? If so, why?

I like aswagandha powder. I tried Alma powder and my hair didn't like it. I think it may have been the protein content.

@@ladib7813 yes Amal can make your hair feel really dry, as do a lot of Ayurvedic herb. I choose to infuse them all in my diy hair oils and butters. I’m low porosity and my hair is definitely protein and strength sensitive. I use protein every 5-6 weeks.
