Yes they are very easy to refill, straight off the butane can, no adapter necessary and the flints are also replaceable. The zippo flints fit the sparker just fine. I've managed to keep the same clipper going for about five years now. A small can of butane lasts me a couple of years. I reckon I keep a single lighter running all year for less than £1.

Great trick about switching out the flint wheel, that Clipper star shaped one has formed a callous on my thumb. The lighter works better if, after you stop getting flames, you drain the remaining butane before refilling. Both the regular sized plain-colored Bic's and these refillable Clippers fit into the Lighter Bro that you reviewed awhile back. A little tweeking may be necessary. Thanks Jeff.

Barry Eaton then get a torch lighter... and for the most part, I find regular clippers to work at about -1 Celsius. Didn’t try any lower since I live in kuwait which is, ya know, a desert. But for the most part, clippers are good. I still need to learn how to change the flint, cause I usually throw them when the flint is dead.
@Stigstigster
@Stigstigster 5 жыл бұрын
@@anomnomnomnivore1350 To change the flint, pull straight up on the wheel and it'll come out easy enough. Then the bottom of the sparker has a little cap that unscrews pulling the spring out. Drop in a new flint, reassemble and good to go. It's nice having a relatively modern cheap item that is totally reusable. I've honestly had the same one for around 5 years. I reckon it costs me less than £1 a year to run and saves wasting plastics. Literally millions of them must be thrown away every year.

I remember the exact moment I figured this out about clipper lighters… I came from a small town so they didn’t carry anything but crack lighters and Bic’s for what seems like forever but one day I needed to get another lighter because my Bic ran out & no reason to refill those unless you’re in a tight spot, anyways I came across a clipper in the gas station! I always enjoy trying something new so I got it, it functioned just fine lighting my joint & while I was sitting there enjoying the transformation that had taken place I became aware of something in my hand which right away I didn’t know what it was because it was unusual but also felt nice in my hand as it was dramatically different shape than a bic so I began to look it over and saw the bottom of it wasn’t just a little slit and it was in that moment where I decided I would never go back! 😂

Clippers are good for smoking because the flint tube is also a poker and if you put it upside down it pushes more butane out which is really useful for everything. And fun to collect cause they last a long time and have so many designs and collections if you look it will say for example 1/4 or 2/4 because they have sets you can collect.

I knew about the clipper lighters. But I use a bic lighter that I installed a valve on to make it reuseable

That's because most stoners use the flint tube as a "poker" to pack down joints. A lot of stoners who use them don't even necessarily realize you can change the flint.

I have a clipper lighter that looks just like yours except for it has what's called flower mandalas - 3/4 my brother brought it home to me and he said he found it on the side of the road and it was empty had no butane I said no problem because I restore and reuse lighters mostly Zippos I had butane and I looked at the bottom and it had a feeling I filled it with butane and it lit and worked just fine and still does but I did not know that you could pull that piece out and replace the Flint I'm glad I clicked on this video

You can also pull out the flint in an empty lighter and use it elsewhere.

I used to only use Bic lighters and I still think they are great lighters until they get wet. But even then throw some flame on the ignition part let the flame burn a while and boom it works again. (For those that didn’t know that’s how you fix that) but as I got older I found myself using the brand less cheap ones and actively seeking those out over bics not because I think their better I just tend to not lose those as opposed to the bics and whenever you “lend” someone a lighter it’s more likely they will return it when it’s the nameless brand less color plastic ones over the bics. So because of that I got more of the older ones.

I never knew either, but since I don’t smoke, I have no real need for one. But I felt it was interesting to say that I have found literally hundreds of lighters in my day and 95% of them will light when I try flicking them. In my edc pouch I keep a tiny brass peanut style lighter just for emergencies. In case I need to make a fire one day. I also keep a mini ferro rod in there too.

I thought you were going to say why not to throw away the big and crack lighters also. The crack lighters striker wheel can be changed with the clippers if you don't like the star shape, the regular bics are too wide. Also you can take the flints out of the empty Bic lighters, the crack lighters usually don't have much flint left. I also have heard you can refill the crack lighters through the top valve but never tried it.

When you replace a flint in a its never the same and will rarely light as effective again I got like 20 clippers and replace with Bic flints and usually carry 3 and usually light them by sparking 2 at the same time in proximity to each other there more trouble than there worth
