FAQ:
Q: Can gyro be used on consoles?
A: Yes, but it's only available on a limited list of games. If you want it for your favorite game, ask the developers about it.
Q: Can I use your configs on non-steam games?
A: Yes! Just change the name of the non-steam game to the steam ID of that game (that you can easily find on SteamDB), and you'll have access to all community configs. If the steam overlay doesn't work, try using a program called GLOSSI.
Q: Can gyro emulate the right analog stick?
A: It can, but it's not ideal. My configurations all emulate a mouse, unless stated otherwise.
Q: What is the name of the 3D Controller Overlay?
A: It's called 3D Controller Overlay (created by: ‪@larfingshnew6965‬) It's free!

Q: When I press the “home” button in-game, nothing happens. (PC only)
A: make sure that the drivers of your controller are active by going to: Steam, Settings, Controller, enable Steam Input for the controller that you are using.
Also, activate “Use Big Picture Overlay when using a controller” by going to Steam, Settings, In-Game.

general psa, ir looking up controller configs, if u use search feature, press "x" to "show all layouts". idk why, but a few months ago steam started not showing all results even if you entered layout's name exactly as written in this case, enter config->search tab->type "flick"->press x->scroll down, for me layout was at the end of the list

Oh, that's unfortunate. It does take a while to get used to. Especially if it's your first time both gyro and flickstick. If you ever care to try again, I would recommend not using flickstick until you get used to gyro (I also, don't recommend this game as your first gyro game lol)

It's how I've played it since launch, except with gyro steering and looking around with the right touchpad in cars. It's been a real pain to try to get Steam to do it without corrupting my though. But I think the beta removed Gyro Joystick (not "as joystick") which means you have to set it up without the beta and then modify the regular aiming layer to use the new Gyro mode.

It's been in a bit of flux (try steam beta) but should be stabilizing and improving. Try the new Gyro to Joystick (Deflection) mode, also. Still has a few things left to do to it but so far people have been quite positive.

I use a controller configuration for Cyberpunk (CP) with Gyro enabled on "left trigger pull." However, recently, the gyro remains active regardless of the button I press-it's always on. The problem begins when the CDPR launcher opens and persists until the game is closed. Even outside of Steam, the gyro controls my mouse while the game is running in the background, a situation I haven't encountered before. All my other Steam games function correctly. Any idea what might be causing this issue? Disabling Gyro resolves the problem, but playing without gyro is inconvenient. Please help

The recent beta update has this bug, it's being fixed but for now, just disable beta updates to fix the problem.

between dualsense vs ds4, do you notice any difference in gyro accuracy?

Polling rate on DualSense is doubled of the DualShock4. DualShock4 already has a high polling rate, so it's hard to notice, but still, DualSense is more accurate.

Having mix-mode input means to me not having the K&M onscreen control prompts pop up, which is wonderful. Does mix-mode also improve the controls in anyway?

Mixed inputs are simply the option to have controller and mouse inputs at the same time, it doesn't exactly improve the controls in the sense that it doesn't change anything about them, but it does improve in the sense that we don't have to fully emulate a keyboard and mouse, making it much easier to play with gyro.

I am transitioning from As Mouse to Gyro To Mouse. 3DOF to 2D Conversation is super confusing. Generally should I been changing Yaw+Roll to Local Space as shown in this video? On a Steam Deck.

You can stay with the Yaw+Roll mode if you want, but just to be sure, I will give a practical explanation of what "3DOF to 2D conversion" basically does. When you hold the controller flat on your lap, once you aim upwards, how do you look left and right? In "local space" (yaw mode) you would steer the controller like a turning wheel. In "World" and "Player space" you would roll, this is much more natural to most people, but the best mode for portable devices (like the steam deck and switch) is local space. yaw+roll is just a preset for local space, as well as only yaw and roll modes. These are all local space presets.

This is a common complaint that I can't seem to find a way to fix. Try enabling Steam Beta Updates to see if my config appears. If not, try using the search function, just type the name of the config. If nothing works, I will try contacting Steam's devs to see if they can fix the issue.

Man Whats the issue with gyro as mouse? Thats what I’ve been using on my steam deck to play halo infinite.

In the past year, "gyro as mouse" mode started suffering from bugs, such as delay, constant loss of calibration, huge amounts of noise and general lack of stability. That happened because Steam updated Steam Input as a whole, and new bugs appeared. Because of that, the "gyro as mouse" will soon be replaced with the "gyro to mouse" mode that is much more stable and has many new features that players came to expect from more developed gyro implementations. I have a video teaching how to use the new mode, it's super easy and totally worth the upgrade!

@@FlickStickVidsDid you ever have the new gyro update to also have random sensitivity bugs? i used your config for Control ultimate edition with no problems for a few days. Yerday and the day before i playsed shadwo warior 3 with flick stick and i also added gyro ratcheting on the shoulder button instead of the weapon wheel. But today i made a config for Evil west (i had to edit the input.ini to remobe mouse accleration). The games did not allow me to match aim down sight and normal flick stick . so i used an action layer on the ads to get proper flick stick and gyro working correctly. But at random times steam decides to mess up the gyro modifier. I set i to 4 and ingame it randomly changed to something equivilant to 8(so i reduced ithe modifer to 2 and it acted like it was on 4). But at random times the sensitvity shifted to the correct behavior again. So when i set it to 2 it actually worked like it was on 2. I dont know if this was a game specifi problem or just a random bug on the beta channel. But it was still anoying to say the least.

@caleasthetic Interesting. The player space gyro has some bugs that can possibly cause that effect, but you said you had to create a layer, right? Maybe the layer isn't changing every time you ADS. If you are using a DualSense or dualshock4 you can test this by setting an "always on command" to change the color of the LED on the controller, that way, every time this happens, you can just look at the controller.

For the layer change i can just use a normal press and choose hold action layer right? or would it be better to use start pressa and then add action layer an d release press to remove action layer. Maybe the normal pressan dchange action layer is bugged? But that still does not explain why sometimes my multiplier is 2 and sometimes it is 4. Because both the default and the ads layer have the same modifier of 4. They just seem to need different value''s to achieve it. I tried to remove the layer and choose the lowest sensitivity on normal mouse movement and double sensitvity when going into ads. But the highest adds sens is just a few percentages short of doubling the normal sens. So then flick stick is 10% of when doing flick on ads. The most anyoing thing about this game and shadow warior 3 aswell is that mouse acceleration is turned on by default. for both games i have to edit the input.ini file. I still dont understand why deveopers code in mouse acceleration. I understood from directed input that unreal engine games have tis problem alot. i always though developers ententionally implement acceleration.

You can add Cyberpunk to your library as a non-steam game, and that should let you configure the gyro setup yourself. You probably won't get access to community templates though.

If you change the name of a non-steam game to the same steam ID of that game (that you can easily find on the steamDB), you will have access to every community config made for that game, that way you can easily import my configs. Unfortunately, some games won't show the steam overlay using this method, in this case I recommend a program called GLOSSI.

@digivagrant yes, you can do whatever you want with my config, the best part of the new gyro to mouse mode is that there is no need to translate configs between controllers. Besides, I haven't changed the button layout, so you can change the settings on the game itself. Have fun!
