Area 419 recommends torquing the base mounting bolts to 22 in/lb (2.5 nm). Some people prefer Vibra-tite VC3 over Loctite for firearm applications.

Nice review. Nice set-up. I have several 457's and the 24" At-One is still a favorite. BTW, The trigger can be made to break at a crisp 9-10 oz with nothing more than a trigger spring swap and adjustment. When done, the trigger is actually better than the Timney aftermarket unit.

Just for anyone wondering about the safety, the Brnos, cz452 and cz455 used a mauser style bolt mounted safety, the new safety is the standard PTF which is both a major improvement and proven safer/more reliable than the old style safety.

Below are where I bought mine: CZ 457 AT-ONE - www.budsgunshop.com/ (looks like currently not in stock) CZ 457 VPT - guntherguns.com/product-category-group/rifles (you'll have to call them to confirm but maybe in stock)

The trigger is adjustable for pull weight, take up and over travel. If u read the book u would know that. Adjustable from 1.5-3.5 lbs.
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV2 жыл бұрын
The book and reality do not match. I was able to adjust the take up to be good but had to replace the trigger with a Timney Trigger to get very good results. I have a CZ 457 VPT that I was able to adjust the trigger better then the AT-One but replaced the spring to get a lighter trigger pull weight. I believe the issue is these trigger are massed produced and the quality and consistency varies a bit.

The play you entertained is actually the first stage of a double stage trigger dufas You should show its value over one stage trigger the area19 mount requires 22in#

Never put locktite or anything on the threads of the scope ring bolts. It acts as a lubricant and throws off the torque when tightening.

That is for sure. I am hoping I have enough for the next few months. When things get better stick up on ammo only when it is on sale in my opinion unless you compete I can only wish all of us luck in the near future.

It's not "ten by 40". It's 10 to 40. The magnification goes from ten to forty power. It doesn't go from ten by forty. That doesn't even make sense. I rarely point this out even though it's a common mistake, but sir you are presenting yourself as a knowledgeable professional, or at least knowledgeable if not professional. So... that scope is 10-40×56. Ten to forty power illuminated by a 56mm objective lens. That said (and I'm honestly not trying to be a d*ck), your video is appreciated. I just bought a CZ 457 Lux in .22WMR. I apparently need high rings so the bell will clear the rear "iron" sight. Your video gave me an idea or two, so thank you.

Thanks for the detailed description. I am often amazed with what comes out of my mouth, I feel like I mostly screw up numbers. Thanks for the comment and correcting my words.

@carlosthejackal19693 жыл бұрын
Your scope is too far back and to attain proper eye relief you're going to be too far back on your cheek riser for a reliable cheek weld. With all of the CZ rimfires with or without Boyds stocks you normally have to push the scope all the way forward, you've gone in reverse. With that Area 419 picathinny rail which is very high you only need low rings, you've ended up with your bore axis further than is necessary below the scope, again a recipe for an unreliable cheek weld. I'm not sure that you'll benefit from a 24" barrel on a 22 LR unless you're going to shoot specific target ammunition and compete, in which case a barrel tuning muzzle brake would be of more value than the added 4" of barrel length. You'll never heat up a 22 LR or 17 HMR heavy barrel enough to cause mirage. Please forgive me if I come across as a smart-arse but I don't intend to. I'm a fanatic when it comes to building rifles and I'm pedantic about specifications. I would be no good at making videos but I am exceptional at building and setting up rifles.

carlosthejackal1969, That is how I took it. I have not pride so I typically don't take anything personal. I am doing these video for fun and hoping for feedback like you provided. So your "advice" was taking as that. I have already looked in to lower rings but before spending the money I am going to look at move the scope forward to see if that helps with the eye relief. I was kind of rushed and mountd the scope at night and it was too dark to properly adjust of eye relief. I was in a bench rest competition 3 days later and came in #1, so good news is the rifle can shoot well. Now and need to fine tune it as well as adjust the trigger. - Thanks for your time and comment. - Bret

The is a Gun Digest Article: “How Does Barrel Length Affect Accuracy and Balastics?” that concludes, after extensive testing, that a longer barrel provides more consistent accuracy, at the price of a small loss in muzzle velocity.
