Last one I found was on the normal Baal quest drop with a Bowazon. It was in good shape too.

Classic Diablo 1 item as well, that drops from the King Leoric quest. I think the Diablo 1 version was the only item in the game that offered life steal. Truly one of the most atmospheric quest of the whole game. I do like the item in Diablo 2 as well - super good for summon necros. Find either this or wormskull early and you are set!

I remember this was the first unique I ever found. Diablo dropped it on my first play through. I was so stoked and used it for a long time. I was using a melee build pally if I remember right.

Life steal can often be hard to obtain early on, especially when you are trying to find a good weapon and the weapon you find doesn't have life steal on it. Having a helmet like this with life steal on it can be great for a low level pally. It opens up weapon choices early on and helps you get by with sub par weapons.

A Very useful D1 Item, and Strictly for Life steal the undead crown still serves much the same purpose. I feel like the addition of the skeleton mastery confused people a bit. It also coulda had more life steal then 5% as well...

Yea Iv used this on a poison dagger necro Also on a merc Even on a poor summoner Something you can do is if you have it on your merc you can do the quick switcharoo summon your army then switch it back that way you get the +3 summon mastery

This Item would be very nice for a Necro, if skeletons would benefit from Lifesteal. Always wished that^^

You'll likely find the peasant crown before this, and it's simply amazing. The base unique items need a rework. The level requirements on them are just stupid.

Why the difference in strength requirements for the same helm? when upgraded to grand crown the eth requires 93 strg when the noneth requires 103? new mechanic?

I've always thought it was a cruel joke, having a strength requirement on an ethereal item. In the original dungeons & dragons, ethereal meant weightless... Insubstantial. From the magic item called, The Oil of Etherealness, which made your character able to pass through solid objects, and become immune to physical damage. Yes, a cruel joke, indeed.

I've made a Fire Necromancer who'd benefit from this item(if it had plus 2 to Necromancer skills). As it is, there are much better circlets that can be gambled for. My level 31 Barbarian could certainly benefit from this!
